Supreme Court clears decks for opening the road in tribal area of Andaman and Nicobar Islands - March 7, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

New Delhi:The Supreme Court today reversed its January interim order banning the Andaman-Nicobar Trunk Road for tourists. The road cuts through a tribal reserve area in the Andaman and Nicobar islands where the endangered Jarawa tribals live.

Tourists are now hopeful that the road will be opened by today and they can use it to reach the Limestone cave, which falls in the prohibited zone.

There was outrage last year over a video that surfaced showing women belonging to the Jarawa tribe being paid to dance for some tourists. The video had caused much consternation, with the Central government seeking a report from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands administration on the alleged exploitation of the tribals; the Supreme Court in January banned the tourists from using the Trunk Road.

The court then asked the island administration to submit a notification detailing steps being taken for the safety of the Jarawa tribes.

The administration submitted the notification which declared area upto five km radius adjacent to the Jarawa Tribal Reserve as a Buffer Zone and that no commercial or tourist establishment is directly or indirectly allowed in that area.

The notification also said that no person should carry out any activity directly or indirectly which might be prejudicial to the safety, security and interests of the Jarawa tribe in any of the settlement villages.

After examining the notification on Tuesday, the top court cleared the decks for the road to be opened.

During the hearing today, the Supreme Court also examined the affidavit filed by local inhabitants who said that the Trunk Road was a vital link covering 400 villages from Baratang to Diglipur and it was being used to reach the only government hospital in the island.

TowerJazz Releases Rule Decks for Advanced ESD and Power Domain Checking Using Mentor’s Calibre PERC - March 7, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

MIGDAL HAEMEK, Israel & WILSONVILLE, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

TowerJazz, the global specialty foundry leader, has announced the Mentors Calibre PERC rule decks are now available for TowerJazz customers to perform circuit reliability verification for its latest 0.18 micron products, including highly customized electrostatic discharge (ESD) and power management circuit checks. Many of these checks have been automated for the first time by taking advantage of the Calibre PERC products unique ability to combine schematic (netlist) and physical layout information.

The Calibre PERC checks include: ESD CDM verification confirming that the transistor gate is not connected directly to a PAD, ESD protection on the IO PAD, and power management propagation rules to avoid HV signals connected to a low voltage device or domain. For each of the above, TowerJazz implemented a topological check as well as a specific layout DRC. During 2013, the design kit will be further enhanced to include comprehensive rule checks to support mutual customers with the most advanced deck. The 0.13 technology release will be available upon customer demand.

TowerJazz is using Calibre PERC technology to help our customers achieve their reliability objectives by providing rule decks that perform advanced checks during signoff, said Ori Galzur, Vice President of the TowerJazz VLSI Design Center. Our advanced design kits implement special ESD rules, charge device modeling (CDM), and power management propagation checks related to our specific technology. By eliminating many potential reliability issues at the design stage, the TowerJazz solution helps shorten time to market and drive long-term product success for our customers.

Customers are demanding higher reliability in all types of electronic products using complex ICs, from automobiles to mobile phones, said Carey Robertson, Director of Product Marketing for Calibre Circuit Verification at Mentor Graphics. The Calibre PERC platform provides circuit reliability checking technology that goes beyond the scope of traditional DRC and ERC tools, so designers and foundries can implement highly complex checks that are customized to specific design styles and foundry manufacturing processes.

Information on TowerJazz design kits for power and reliability checking using Calibre PERC is available on the TowerJazz website (www.towerjazz.com) as well as the Mentor website (www.mentor.com) and also from TowerJazz sales representatives.

Stonewater Place Apartments Selects AridDek and Wahoo Rail, Aluminum Decking Products By Wahoo Decks - February 26, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

Developers Select Aluminum Products from Wahoo Decks Over Other Materials for Low Maintenance Requirements and Fire Safety Features

Gainesville, GA (PRWEB) February 26, 2013

As local business owners, Chris and Tyler Tursky have been in the commercial construction business for almost three decades, making the move into multifamily residential development a natural next step for this father-son team. Over the years, the Turksys have attributed their success to using the highest quality and safest materials available. When they set out to develop Stonewater Place, they wanted a decking product that would offer safety, without compromising aesthetics. After evaluating several options, the Turskys selected AridDek and Wahoo Rail over pressure treated wood and vinyl rails for low maintenance, lifespan and ultimately, safety features.

Unlike other products we considered, AridDek and Wahoo Rail offered the safety features we required, while also adding to the visual appeal of the community, said Chris Tursky, president of Volunteer Management & Development Company and owner of Tursky Construction Company. Finding a non-combustible decking product that offers clean, classic and sturdy lines is something we didnt think was possible until we found Wahoo Decks. In fact, our designer took the railing a step further and combined antique bronze post and rail caps with mocha balusters, which really added a distinctive look to the community.

Chris Tursky is the president of Volunteer Management & Development Company and owner of Tursky Construction Company and works closely with Tyler Tursky who is the project manager for Volunteer Management & Development Company and an integral part of Tursky Construction Company.

With a tongue-in-groove design that provides a beautiful, low-maintenance non-combustible deck surface, AridDek also incorporates an integrated gutter system to create a dry, usable area under the deck. Its textured powder coating provides a safe, non-skid surface that naturally stays cooler to the touch than traditional decking planks. In this instance, AridDek was combined with Wahoo Rail, pre-fabricated aluminum rail sections that are quick and easy to install; well suited for both commercial and residential rail applications for an incredibly stable, solid, and long lasting connection that will not loosen overtime. Taylor Swift got behind the decks at the Universal Brits 2013 after-party (and omg! were there) - February 23, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

The BRIT Awards ceremony was just the beginning of our night last night. Here's what happened when we partied with Taylor Swift, double-winner Emeli Sande and Jessie J at the Universal Music Brits party hosted by Bacardi at the Soho House pop-up after the event...

Taylor Swift got behind the decks at the Universal party last night.

Where we partied At the official Universal Brits 2013 After-Party which was hosted by swanky London members club Soho House at a massive disused bank. Yes, really.

What we ate Toasted cheese and ham sandwiches, chicken and mushroom pie, meatballs and shepherds pie. Comfort food central. Oh, and did we mention the mini chocolate brownies with hot chocolate sauce?

What we drank There were a whole host of BACARD cocktails on offer including Mai Tais, Daiquiris and Guantanameras. We may have sampled just about all of them. Pass us the headache tablets!

Who we rubbed shoulders with Big Brits winner Emeli Sande was celebrating her double-win alongside the likes of Professor Green, Millie Mackintosh, Jessie J, Ellie Goulding, Jeremy Irvine and Laura Whitmore. We also caught a glimpse of X Factor host Dermot OLeary and at one point spotted Jonathan Ross doing some serious dad dancing next to us.

What was in the goody bag VIP goody bags were distributed to Universal Musics artists filled with gifts including items from Lulu Guinness, American Apparel, Stighlorgen, Thomas Sabo, Elemis, BOY London and Joes Eber hair straighteners.

When we put on our dancing shoes Hotly tipped hip hop artist Iggy Azalea put on an intimate mini-set which had the whole room rocking.

When we pulled an omg! face You know that moment when the DJ isnt playing the song you want to hear? Well, Taylor Swift took matters into her own hands and got behind the decks with Brits host James Corden at one point in the evening. We are unable to confirm whether she wanted to hear One Directions new Comic Relief song. It got very crowded behind there when Ellie Goulding and beau Jeremy Irvine also squeezed behind the decks.

Decks cleared for Rajasthan Royals to play all home games in Jaipur - February 10, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

The MOU between the RCA and the RSSC has expired in July last and the latter was reluctant to renew it owing to violations by RCA and its denials to clear the dues which amounted to crores.

Jaipur: The decks were finally cleared for the Rajasthan Cricket Association to host the home matches of Rajasthan Royals in IPL-6 after it decided to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government regarding the use of Sawai Man Singh Stadium.

A deadlock between the RCA and Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) has threatened to take away all the home matches of Rajasthan Royals and to Ahmedabad and Rajkot in Gujarat.

The BCCI was compelled to take a decision in this regard but the hectic activity in top political circles and the court verdict paved the way for Jaipur to host atleast some of the IPL matches.

In accord with a decision by the divisional bench of the High Court the RCA and State Government signed a MOU for five years.

"A MoU was signed between the RCA and the State Government which means that Jaipur would be hosting the home matches of the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL-6. We have also deposited post dated Cheques of Rs.20, 00,000/= (Twenty Lakhs) for each match.

"Dr. C P Joshi the president of the RCA has shown a good gesture by giving a cheque of Rs 1 crore to the Government for utilizing it for the cause of other sports in state," said K K Sharma, the acting secretary of RCA.

"The government had added a clause in the MoU which states that the SMS stadium will remain to be a property of the state Government. We do not object to it. We are happy that we now have the possession through MoU. We have the right to use the North and the South Pavilion and we would start the preparation as soon as possible.

"We are determined to enhance the reputation of the state by holding the matches in grand fashion. He whole executive is eager to contribute for the cause," he said.

The MOU between the RCA and the RSSC has expired in July last and the latter was reluctant to renew it owing to violations by RCA and its denials to clear the dues which amounted to crores.
