Demolition – Plant Demolition, Building Demolition … - September 6, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Hudson Valley Environmental Services, Our EMR is .858: No lost time incidents Five years running.

Hudson Valley Environmental Services provides Total and Selective mechnical, manual and interior demolition services. Our demolition capabilities can address partial building to multi-structure projects. HVE works quickly, safely, and with minimal business interruption. Beside our unique expertise, our highly trained team, and our fleet of modern, continually maintained equipment. Pre-job planning and scheduling assures our clients a timely and orderly demolition

Perhaps the first phase in plant demolition is to have an asset management plan. An asset management plan is a business decision aid which provides the framework for inventory evaluation of Capital Assets.

The evaluation of these assets for short and long term productivity and the planned maintenance, operation, removal and replacement of these assets which are predicted to no longer fit the business strategies and needs of the company is the essence of the asset management plan.

Asset management is not an entry into an accounting system or a computer generated list of acquisition costs. It is a process that involves estimates of market value and the ability to execute a scenario that may include remediation of the work site and removal of contaminants.

This may mean the dismantling and decommissioning of the asset instead of plant demolition.

The value of the underlying land is a consideration as well as the age of the structure and the nature of any possible contamination to the site.

We at HV Environmental are experts in assisting businesses in asset management reviews and establishing timely and cost effective strategies for the rehabilitation, decommissioning, dismantling, match marking, environmental remediation or demolition of a selected site to meet short and long term goals. Often the work can be planned in a manner that includes recovery of tangible remarketable asset segments to offset the demolition expense.

Plant Demolition can be a dangerous process that is best left in the hands of a professional team of workers with a track record of on time, on budget, safe work. Over the past ten plus years HV Environmental has a perfect safety record. We have completed project after project on schedule and at or below budget.

Whether your needs are for explosive implosion to demolish a plant or factory or the demolition of a warehouse, our experts are experienced and seasoned professionals in these areas.

Dubai demolition - September 6, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

GENESIS UNLEASHED. Genesis Servania (foreground) sends Jose Cabrera to the canvas in the second round of their WBO Inter-Continental title fight in Dubai. (CONTRIBUTED FOTO/DONG SECUYA)

DUBAIYoung talents Genesis Servania and Arthur Villanueva showed the world they are ready to move on to the next level with crucial wins.

Servania defended his World Boxing Organization (WBO) Inter-Continental super bantamweight belt with a 10th-round stoppage of former world title challenger Jose Cabrera in the main event of Pinoy Pride 27 Duel in Dubai at the Dubai World Trade Center.

Servania displayed his impressive footwork and speed, landing two-punch combinations every now and then. The 23-year-old unbeaten prospect dropped Cabrera with a right to the temple in the second round.

After getting hurt again in the following round, Cabrera exchanged with Servania to the delight of the roaring fans. Servania consistently landed his blows and hurt Cabrera but the 27-year-old Mexican simply wouldnt go down.

Cabrera started to find his rhythm after the fifth and landed his counter punches. But Servania wouldnt let him gain ground and unleashed his combinations time and again.

In the ninth, Servania tagged Cabrera with a left followed up by a right that cut the latters right cheek. Cabrera complained to referee Danrex Tapdasan that he was head-butted intentionally but the Filipino referee said that it was unintentional. On replay, the cut was apparently caused by a punch.

Cabrera quit on his stool at the end of the ninth round, ending a somewhat exciting fight in anticlimactic fashion.

Servania remained unbeaten with a 25-0 record including 11 knockouts, while Cabrera dropped to 22-5-2 with 10 knockouts.

Demolition at site of massive Mission District fire to begin - September 6, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Clean-up crews wearing protective suits and masks started bagging the smoky, sodden remains of a San Francisco novelty store Friday evening with the demolition of the business expected to begin Saturday.

"I was actually here two days ago looking for luggage," spectator Michael Garcia told KTVU, as he gazed at the ruined Big House Inc. store with dozens of other onlookers. "A lot of people depended on this place, you know?" added Garcia. "For the smaller prices and better deals."

But one person's loss is another's opportunity.

"The value lies in the location and the lot, " observed real estate agent Jim Appenrodt, also in the crowd. "This is the heart of the Mission and it's booming, absolutely booming."

Friday evening, the family that owns the property was back, looking through the debris. Previously they told KTVU they want to rebuild and restock the import merchandise that filled three stories: clothing, luggage, and toys.

But with the neighborhood ripe for investment right now, and 130 new condos going in less than a block away, the family may be persuaded to sell, instead of stay.

"People will line up for this spot," exclaimed Appenrodt, "You'd have to go ask the city and find out what they'd let you build there, and that's where the value lies."

First, the condemned building must come down. Fire helmets have been replaced by hard hats, as a demolition firm arrived, hired by the owner's insurance company.

"It's going to take some time, because we have to get all the way to the back of the building," Har-Bro Project Manager Bob Conley told KTVU, "so we'll have to take a little, clean it out, take a little, clean it out. We're not just going to knock it down."

Conley said every stage of the tear-down will be charted by a shoring engineer so it's safe for the workers and people on the busy corridor.

Demolition to start on Mechanic Theatre - September 6, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Work has begun on the major mixed-use development downtown that is to replace the Morris A. Mechanic Theatre with two glassy apartment towers and four floors of shopping, said a spokesman for Owings Mills developer David S. Brown Enterprises LTD .

The garage beneath the theater closed this month and a construction fence now surrounds the property, located at the intersection of Charles and Baltimore streets. Formal demolition could start "any day," said Larry Lichtenauer of Lawrence Howard & Associates.

Current plans call for two towers of 33 and 19 stories each, with a total of 450 apartments on top of four floors of restaurants and shopping, Lichtenauer said. The project also includes a five-story parking garage.

David. S. Brown Enterprises plans to start with the 33-story tower, which includes 268 apartments, he said.

Downtown Partnership President Kirby Fowler said the area has declined as the citys commercial core and it is a relief to see the project moving forward.

The Mechanic has stood in the way of the continuing progress, said Fowler, adding that the 1967 building has not aged well and sits with its back to Charles Street. At some point just because a building was built, doesnt mean it has to stand forever. Mistakes are made sometimes.

The theater closed in 2004.One West Baltimore Street Associates LLC, a partnership that includes the co-owners of Arrow Parking and David S. Brown Enterprises, bought the property for $6 million in 2005.

The first plans presented for the property became embroiled in disputes about the historic value of the 1967 Brutalist structure. In 2008, the Planning Commission voted to deny the the building landmark status, overruling the recommendation of the citys commission for historical and architectural preservation.

One West Baltimore Street Associates LLC filed to demolish the building in 2012, but the historic commission officially disapproved of the move, stalling it for six months. The city issued a demolition permit in March, which would have expired Sept. 13, according to Baltimore Housing spokeswoman Cheron Porter. A second demolition permit was issued in August, she said.

Demolition-threat Clune Park residents no longer on priority list for homes - September 6, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Published: 6 Sep 2014 09:00

INVERCLYDES largest housing association has done a u-turn on giving demolition-alerted Clune Park residents priority status for new homes.

River Clyde Homes had awarded the tenants of private landlords special Group 3 status, meaning they were deemed to be about to lose their flats amid Inverclyde Council plans to bulldoze them.

But bosses have now rowed back from that position after being informed that the local authority cannot raze the properties to the ground at present as it faces hundreds of legal challenges.

Campaigners against the authoritys demolition plan today welcomed the River Clyde Homes (RCH) decision as sensible.

One property owner said: The simple fact is that no action whatsoever can be taken to demolish Clune Park at the moment, and there is a very good chance that will permanently remain to be the case.

The housing association has confirmed in an official email that it will not award the status to any Clune Park resident while the legal proceedings are active.

The move comes after council officials in charge of the controversial demolition and regeneration plans were recently accused of having complete contempt for the due process of law.

They were slammed by lawyers after letters outlining re-homing advice were sent out to residents, highlighting all of Inverclydes housing associations.
