Racehorse to Show Jumper...NOTHING is Impossible {Please read description}
Hey all ๐ Firstly this is a video of Billy jumping at home yesterday...he really was fab!! You can just keep putting the fences up and he clears them so effortlessly, am so impressed with the little beasty and can #39;t wait to get him out Eventing again next year!! Billy you are my superstar!! He is off to Addington tomorrow to jump the Newcomers and 1m 15 ๐ So there #39;s so much going on at the moment...so much exciting news and a massive opportunity which has just been opened up for me, and I feel so extremely privileged to have been offered!! Riding horses professionally has always been my ultimate aim. From as long as I can remember I have always wanted to work with these magical creatures, and could never see myself doing anything else. My parents always felt strongly about me having a good, solid education and this year, in July 2012 I finally achieved this when after achieving good A Level results I went on to complete an English Language degree and graduated with a 2:1. I am truly grateful for my parents encouraging me to continue with my education, because now I am free to rise and fall on my own decisions and if I do decide not to work with horses there are so many doors left open. The horse world is such a difficult one...there are yards where hard workers get completely taken advantage of and people whose goal in life is to put you down so much that you feel worth less than the dirt on the ground...but there ARE others... who see your passion, commitment ...From:JGeventingViews:41 7ratingsTime:04:54More inPeople Blogs

Cycling freely across tram lines in Amsterdam
Cycle paths crossing tramway lines without traffic lights and fences. Pedestrians cross the tram rails freely as well. Despite quite intensive traffic of both kind it looks safe. Silchar, Dec. 17: Electronic "eyes" or sensors will soon replace fences on a couple of stretches along the India-Bangladesh border as part of a bid by the Centre to step up the drive against illegal influx into Assam from the neighbouring country.
Assam governor J.B. Patnaik revealed this to senior BSF officers during a visit to border areas in Karimganj district yesterday, a BSF source said. Senior district administration officials and police and BSF officers had accompanied the governor, who also surveyed the border from the air.
According to the source, Patnaik told the officials that the Union home ministry had already cleared the plan for two border stretches in Dhubri and Karimganj districts. He said a high 49.34-metre-long electronic sensor fence would be installed between Dhubri and Sisumara along the border, as physical fencing is not possible on this stretch as it is prone to flooding and erosion.
Patnaik also told the officers that one more BSF battalion would soon be deployed along the 128-km Cachar-Karimganj border, taking the number of battalions manning that stretch to four.
The governor lamented the fact that though the norm for the distance between the two border outposts of BSF along the country's international borders was 3.5km, the distance between two outposts in the Cachar-Karimganj sector was 4.1km.
Patnaik, who landed at Silchar airport yesterday, made an aerial survey of the land between Karkhanaputhni and Suterkandi in Karimganj district and later drove to Jabainpur near Karimganj town where he had a glimpse of the collapsed eight-foot-high border fence which had fallen into the Kushiara following erosion.
The source said the governor also disclosed that measures to check the ingress of counterfeit Indian currency across the border would be further beefed up with introduction of a machine by Reserve Bank of India to quickly identify fake notes.
Inspector-general of the BSF's Cachar-Mizoram frontier A.C. Thaplial and deputy inspector-general U.C. Hazarika, among others, accompanied the governor during the visit.
Ruby #39;s 1st time jumping a course of sj
Will she jump fillers? Will we be able to stop? Lots of questions...1 way to find out! On 16 Dec, we took Ruby to Cholderton Equestrian for her first try at a course of jumps. She had limited practice over fences at home, doesn #39;t seem to mind much so I was hoping fillers wouldn #39;t be a problem. Stopping doesn #39;t seem to cross her mind, it #39;s more a case of trying to keep her steady into the fences as she locks on and goes for it - just the attitude you want, but obviously needs to get back on her hocks and not flatten over her fences so we can keep the poles in their cups, and also remain in control to adjust for the next fence. I was mega chuffed with how she did, and what you see in the video was her 1st attempt at the course. Lots to work on but lots to like from this young horse!From:Nicki StrongViews:1 0ratingsTime:02:26More inSports

Make A Good First Impression: Landscape Your Driveway 1173971
For more information visit: http://www.thesimplypeachy.com Is your driveway landscaped? It should be. This includes the driveway itself, as well as the design elements on both sides. All sorts of materials from softscape options to hardscape are available to make your driveway attractive. Make A Good Entrance As the entrance to your home, the driveway should not be neglected. It can either be a scar on the other landscaping around the home or it can add depth to the entire look of your home. You dont need to spend a lot of money on it either. You can be creative and choose attractive features, and have a very low cost landscape that is welcoming. Make sure that you take everything into account before choosing your elements. For example, if you are looking for minimal work, do not plant a flower bush at the end of your driveway where the plants can be ruined by those in your neighborhood. Instead, use an attractive fence or a rock garden. Another important aspect is the footpath to the home. Do not use any design elements that will be in the way of the normal foot traffic. You dont want to visitors going out of their way, or worse, trampling your plants to reach your door. Hardscape Choice You have many options -- common ones include walls and fences, which can add distinction and accent your driveway. A small fence can add character and color to the landscape. Use hanging baskets or lanterns on the fence for more charm. A large rock can be especially interesting, particularly ...From:John PhilipViews:0 0ratingsTime:02:22More inPeople Blogs
