Chester Judd, of the Town of Niagara, died Jan. 31 in Buffalo General Medical Center after a short illness. He was 77.

Born in Quebec, Canada, he moved from Niagara Falls, Ont., to Youngstown, N.Y., with his family in 1954. He joined the U.S. military in January 1955 and served in the Navy aboard the USS Spiegel Grove. He was honorably discharged from the United States Naval Reserve on Jan. 29, 1963.

Following completion of his active duty, Mr. Judd became a U.S. citizen in November 1958. He was an ironworker for Iron Workers Union Local 9 in Niagara Falls for 34 years. He retired in 1994.

He was an avid boater and member of the Lower Niagara Moose Lodge and the LaSalle Sportsmans Club.

A skilled handyman able to do a wide range of construction and repair projects, he also enjoyed undertaking auto restoration and steel fabrication jobs.

Survivors include his wife, the former Patricia Kerins; a son, Mark; a daughter, Cheryl; two stepdaughters, Kelly Burling and Lisa Fortuna; a stepson, David Tompkins; two brothers, James and Alfred; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Town of Niagara, followed by military honors

El Paso, TX The El Paso Chihuahuas will host their 2015 job fair in a two-day event starting on Wednesday, Feb. 18th from 5-9 p.m. and concluding on Thursday, Feb. 19th from 5-8:30 p.m. in the WestStar Bank Club at Southwest University Park.

The Chihuahuas are looking for qualified, hardworking candidates with great guest service skills. Candidates must be 16 years of age to apply, must be able to pass a background check and must be able to work all home games and additional events as needed. Candidates must be able to stand for long periods of time and work outdoors.

The Chihuahuas are looking to fill the following positions: Box Office Service and Cashiers Cleaning Crew Retail Guest Services Ushers Ticket Takers Maintenance/Handyman or Woman Staff Parking Lot Attendants Facilities and Grounds Crew Security Game Day Entertainment Staff Mascot Helpers Kids Playground Attendants
