The situation in Bangladesh and its impact here in the State are also said to have come-up for discussion.
We discussed the law and order situation of the State. We discussed other things also, Goswami told journalists before leaving the State Secretariat. According to him, the State Government has sought funds to carry out certain projects. The Union Home Secretary on its part has asked the Government to send the necessary proposals.
Bangladesh situation
Meanwhile, State Home Secretary Basudeb Banerjee maintained that 80 per cent of the discussions centred around the situation in Bangladesh.
The Chief Minister has, however, not confirmed if discussions took place on the situation in Bangladesh or not. She claimed that it was a routine meeting. It was also not known if discussions took place regarding the Land Boundary Agreement Bill. Banerjee is known to have expressed strong reservations over the Bill and its subsequent introduction in the Rajya Sabha. The Chief Minister has been vocal in opposing the Bill.

Home security systems have been flooding the news lately. With the Top Home Security Systems website naming FrontPoint Security once again the #1 system based on its great customer service and their use of the latest technology to battle against home invasion, its hard to remember a time where the only thing homeowners had to ward off crime was to keep their windows and doors locked.
But a lot has changed and now where have dozens of company competing and the ability to one-up each other is becoming harder by the day. We are bombarded with the latest videos, motion sensors, interactive and 24/7 customer service. Even with all that, are we truly safe from invasion, or we giving hackers and surveillances easier access into our homes?
According to a press release on PRWeb.com, there are about 2 million home burglaries reported each year. Companies took it upon themselves to lead the fight against this crime but some people are afraid that that kind of wireless access could make a family the center of unwanted attention.
Lets look at it from a current affairs view: America has found out the their privacy has been seriously violated by the people who promise to protect us. Millions of shoppers were thrown into a state of shock when they found out there was a security breach at all Target stores putting their finances in danger. Two people at two completely different airports gained access to the tarmacs without getting caught initially. Are we truly safe from a breach in our home privacy?
Over the last couple of years there have been complaints of privacy invasions including using there own cameras to gain visual access and the ability to lock and unlock doors. While we praise technology for its advances, we cannot dismiss the fact the when technology fails us, it can be detrimental and sometimes deadly.
But that fear does not seem to stop companies for obtaining revenue for its home security systems. It seems that the thought of coming home to a emptied house superceeds the thought of someone having access to watching your every move

Iraqi security forces yesterday raided the home of a Sunni MP who backs anti-government protesters, arresting him and sparking clashes that killed his brother and five guards, police said.
The raid threatens to inflame widespread discontent among Iraq's Sunni Arab minority and could compound rampant violence plaguing the country.
Police said automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades were used in the clashes that erupted during the raid on MP Ahmed al-Alwani's home in Ramadi, west of Baghdad.
Alwani's brother and five guards were killed, while 18 people, including 10 members of the security forces, were wounded, police and a doctor at Ramadi hospital said.
The defence ministry said Alwani's brother Ali, who was wanted on terrorism charges, was the target of the early morning raid.
When security forces arrived, the two brothers and their guards opened fire, killing one security forces member and wounding five, a ministry statement said.
Iraqi ground forces commander Staff General Ali Ghaidan Majeed said Ali al-Alwani was wounded and died later in hospital, while two guards were also wounded and Ahmed was arrested.
A blurred image of Ahmed al-Alwani, his head down and face apparently bruised, was posted on the Iraqi special forces' Facebook page, with a caption indicating he had been arrested by counter-terrorism forces.
Hundreds of people armed with automatic weapons protested at Alwani's home after the raid, an AFP journalist said.

In the United States, over 2 million home burglaries are reported each year, and approximately 270 home intrusions occur per hour. Across the nation, homeowners who thought their homes were secure are finding they were gravely mistaken.
In order to help the US public better understand this threat to their homes and families, Home Security NW has recently released an article teaching homeowners how to break into their own home. By teaching homeowners to think like a burglar, Home Security NW is helping the public understand where their home security is weak and how it should be fortified against an intrusion. The complete publication is titled, How to Break Into Your House, and can be read by clicking here.
The article walks homeowners through the process of break-in and burglary, beginning with knocking on the door and ending with stealing their own valuables. Homeowners should try to find a hidden approach to their home, see if their house appears unoccupied, check for any spare keys hidden outside, and attempt intrusion at all points of potential entry. Finally, homeowners should quickly select items to steal, preferably expensive items left in the open.
Understanding a burglars thought process will better equip homeowners to make wise security adjustments. Home Security NW provides numerous options and services for effective home security protection.

MIAMI -
A security company installed a surveillance camera system at the Miami home of a 4-year-old girl who vanished one Friday and was found two days later.
Unique Surveillance LLC installed two cameras and two monitors at the Jacques-Louis's family's home in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood.
"Hopefully to make them feel better and safer in their environment," said Assia Payne, the owner of Unique Surveillance LLC.
"I'm very happy today," said the girl's father, Joseph Jacques-Louis.
The girl was reported missing on Dec. 13. Two days later, a driver saw her walking with a man near the girl's home in the city's Little Haiti neighborhood.
When the driver and a neighbor confronted him, he ran off.
"We saw the story on the news and we were like, oh my God, this is tragic," said Payne.
Police continue to look for a man (left) seen in the neighborhood the night the girl disappeared, and the man (right) seen walking with her two days later.

Kaspersky Labs flagship security solution for home users, Kaspersky Internet Security 2014, was recognized as the best of the products compared in the Whole Product Dynamic Real-World Protection Test conducted by AV-Comparatives, an independent research lab, from August to November 2013. The labs experts analyzed how effectively popular security products protect against real-world threats faced by home users.
The testing procedure allowed security solutions to use any techniques to prevent the test computers infection with malware from blocking malicious links clicked by the user to detecting and removing malware already present on the device. However, security solutions had to operate with minimal input from PC users. This is because users are sometimes not sure what to do with suspicious programs detected by security solutions and might make poor decisions.
AV-Comparatives experts tested a total of 22 security solutions from different vendors. Each product was subjected to 1,821 test cases. Kaspersky Internet Security successfully blocked 1,820 threats, demonstrating 99.9% effectiveness over the four-month testing series the best result among all products tested. The Kaspersky Lab product prevented the systems from being infected in all cases, only prompting the user to make a decision in one instance.
Several hundred legitimate sites and apps were also used during testing to check whether the products generated false positives. If the security solutions blocked one of these sites or files from opening, they received a penalty. Kaspersky Internet Security was one of just five products that did not generate a single false positive.
The outstanding results produced by Kaspersky Internet Security earned the product an Advanced+ rating from AV-Comparatives.
For ordinary users its not that important at exactly which stage a security solution manages to block malware the main thing is that it prevents their computers from being infected. Because the testing by AV-Comparatives assesses a products combined capabilities, the results present home users with a much more practical evaluation than other tests that only assess individual security components, commented Oleg Ishanov, Director Anti-Malware Research, Kaspersky Lab.
Testing was carried out on a 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 with all the updates that were available as of August 2013. The latest versions of popular applications such as Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Apple QuickTime, Mozilla Firefox, and Oracle Java were also installed on the test computers.
