Pool houses and cabanas are poolside structures designed to be situated near a backyard pool.They have many uses, but are primarily built to provide a restroom and changing area for swimmers near the pool. This backyard convenience allows swimmers to change in and out of swimsuits while eliminating that trail of wet footprints through the main home. In addition to offering changing space and a restroom, many pool house plans provide a place to store pool equipment and chemicals which frees up storage space in the garage. Also, these designs are ideal for entertaining as many of them offer additional amenities such as a kitchenette, covered porch or patio, outdoor kitchen, or a flexible room for gathering inside, out of the sun. Some pool house plans even offer an outdoor shower for rinsing off or stackable washer and dryer so beach towels and swimsuits can be easily laundered beside the pool.

Most pool houses and cabanas reflect the architecture of the main home allowing them to blend together nicely. These designs can range from small 100 square foot changing rooms or half baths to more elaborate designs that can be 800 square feet or larger. Size varies based on amenities and the desired purpose or use for the pool house. Some cabanas and pool houses are equipped and large enough to serve as a guest suite for weekend visitors or as a quite hideaway, private office, clubhouse, or getaway for those who just need to relax. They can be used for just about anything you can imagine.

This is an extremely nice and spacious condo. Huge garage area and the elevator is a plus since there are three floors. There were 5 adults and 3 kids that stayed here for 6 nights - and there was more than enough room for all of us. The bedrooms and baths are very large, and the furnishings are very nice. There are two full floors of living space and the air conditioner did not miss a beat. The entire condo stayed cool all week. My family will definitely stay here again. Beach access was outstanding!

Only a few minor issues: (1) set screw was missing on entrance door - door handle would not stay on (2) same with kitchen sink faucet (3) there should be a broom/dustpan available to renters (4) sliding glass door on bunk room was off track and lying on the balcony (5) should have at least one large stockpot for cooking since this condo will sleep 12 people.

We had a wonderful vacation at this property. The condo is very well maintained and is supplied with most everything we needed. We came to the property before it was ready, and we were allowed to drop our things in the garage and go to the beach to watch the Air Show. We were notified as soon as the property was ready, around 1:30. The keys were delivered to us while we were at the beach. We also had a problem with the TV in the den, but someone came over to help in a timely fashion. The manager was very helpful and friendly, both when I called the day before we left, and when I went to the office to check in.

We loved the proximity of the home to the beach. The home itself was laid out well. The home was not furnished to accommodate a large group. We had 8 adults and 6 children. There was not enough storage space for clothing, as far as dressers, chest of drawers, etc. One bedroom didn't have anything to put your clothes in. The home was not clean. This is a must when renting a home that others have stayed in. Also, the pantry was locked and this should have been disclosed in the home information.

We had a wonderful weekend. The condo was spacious and beautifully appointed. It was clean and we could not have asked for more guest friendly accommodations. We have a 1 year old, so the cart was especially useful for moving our considerable beach paraphernalia. We are old, so it was wonderful to be able to watch our family from the balcony when we chose not to make the short trek to the water. We knew the restaurants would be packed on a holiday weekend; but had planned food and found the kitchen to be well supplied, allowing us resources to prepare our own meals. We enjoyed being immediately on the beach, and loved every minute at Regency. It was chilly so the kids spent more time than we'd have expected at the pool, which was also up to par. We had an elevator problem when we arrived, but called Paradise, and a service man was there quickly and we had elevator access the rest of our stay. We look forward to staying with you again at B8.

Our condo was perfect for our family of 8 adults and 3 babies under 1 1/2 years. The kitchen was huge which helped also with seating and hanging out with everyone which also looked out over the ocean from our balcony! Plenty of garage paring for our four cars. The bedrooms were perfect! Our master bedroom was the best! Huge closet and great view from the ocean front balcony. TV's in all bedroom but one. Not that anyone watched tv but nice to have them in there. The condo had everything we needed. Decorated beautifully. There were 2 pools which was nice to swim in after being at the beach all day. Paradise Beach homes were very accommodating and very friendly! The only downfall was the construction going on at the condo beside us. With the 3 babies, the noise during the day was extremely loud. Loved the place and would defiantly go back!

Our family has stayed in this townhouse for two years now. We liked it so much last year, we decided to return. One of the main reasons is the elevator. It is very convenient for loading and unloading and this year, I had had knee replacement surgery so it was great to have the elevator. When we got there it didn't work but management soon had it working. Our only other complaint, was a cleaning issue which was resolved immediately. I would definitely recommend this property. There is lots of room for large groups. The pool is very nice and easy access to the beach. We also liked that we were a little away from the activities, but close enough if desired.

As if having a pool isnt lucky enough, some very fortunate swimming pool owners splurge for a pool cabana.

The cabana is a structure adjacent to a swimming pool. Its a broad term and as you can see in our photo gallery below, can include a variety of structure types including fully enclosed, partially enclosed such as gazebo and entirely open (i.e. pavilion).

Most of our cabana photo examples were provided by Pool Craft.

I have to admit I cant handle too much heat and if I exposed to a lot of heat, I like some shade. I love swimming in pools, but once I get too hot, I run for shelter. Thats why I love cabanas so much.

I dont require an extravagant cabana with bathroom, kitchen and lounge. A simple structure with some comfortable seating that provides full shade does it for me.

In my view, any pool can be enhanced with a cabana. The only exception may be if theres a covered deck / patio adjacent to the pool from an awning or roof extension.

Some cabanas are like a guest house on the property. They have interior rooms such as a living room, bathroom, bar and/or kitchen.

Other cabanas are partially enclosed and partially open to the pool area. This is more common than a fully enclosed type. These usually consist of a large covered lounge area but may contain an enclosed bathroom and/or changing room. Other features may include a covered outdoor kitchen, sleeping quarters such as a bunk house or guest quarters, a bar, a patio dining area and/or covered patio lounge area.

This is the simplest structure. It may be four posts with a roof, which is also referred to as a pavilion, but qualifies as a cabana when adjacent to a swimming pool. Usually these are covered lounge and/or dining areas. Theyre designed to provide a shaded area in the swimming pool oasis backyard. In a nutshell theyre pavilions or pergolas.

Some extravagant homes will build a solid structure cabana in a replicate style to the main home. This is obviously over the top, but can look fantastic and provide a great guest house in addition to an additional lounge/dining area outside.

Most cabanas are much simpler and are built as a simple structure containing four posts and a roof. The design is basic; usually constructed of wood.
