Pennsylvania Storage Sheds Builder, Sheds Unlimited INC, Meets the 2013 Season with Fresh Storage Shed Ideas - April 24, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

Its a new Amish storage sheds season and Sheds Unlimited INC is entering the year with many options for garden storage sheds from PA. From the simple wooden storage sheds to the complex two story modular office sheds and portable garages, this Pennsylvania-based family-owned corporation is offering fresh options for 2013.

Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) April 23, 2013

When Sheds Unlimited began producing storage sheds on the family farm over twenty-five years ago, they built only wooden storage sheds. For several years, that was the norm until vinyl storage sheds began to take hold. Next, the growing family business added a line of Classic Storage Sheds which sport wider overhangs, a steeper roof pitch and a few other fancy features to make the building stand out from the rest. But there was more to come!

In the recent years, this Amish-Mennonite operated business expanded their line to include two story storage sheds, modular garages and recently the most outstanding of all, the Premier Garden Storage Sheds. These backyard garden storage sheds, claim the Sheds Unlimited managers, are among the most beautiful garden storage sheds and portable garages built in Lancaster County, PA.

Other recent additions have been a line of swimming pool house sheds that have been a real hit for customers preparing for the hot summer weather and modular office shed options for delivery in PA, NJ, NY, CT, DE, MD, VA, WV and beyond. Enter the two story modular office at Sheds Unlimited and one might forget that he is in a portable shed. This building is massive! Two full floors with large dormers on the second floor to create a wide open space. The portable office shed is finished out inside with beautiful natural wood installed at an angle, a small bathroom and a good sized conference room on the second floor. Five or six office personnel sit in their office pods and answer calls from storage shed customers all over the northeastern part of the United States. It truly is an amazing work of art! And, it is truly modular.

Along with the growing line of products, Sheds Unlimited has experienced steady sales growth every year for the last number of years. And nearly all of those sales have been internet related sales direct to customers within 300 mile of this Amish Country PA storage sheds builder. Most of our customers never actually visit us before purchasing a storage shed, reports one of the managers in the office, they simply find us online and call in to place a storage shed or portable garage order.

Even those buying two story sheds or two and three car garages might never set foot on the crowded manufacturing facility within feet of the new prefabricated office building on the property. Some might spend tens of thousands of dollars without ever visiting the small farm based operation sixty miles west of Philadelphia. And reading the Sheds Unlimited Shed and Garage Reviews shows they have a large number of satisfied customers. Nevertheless, some customer opt to visit the business and might drive all the way from New York City just to see the storage sheds and portable garages offered by Sheds Unlimited INC.

And while the economy might seem a bit unstable to many of us, Sheds Unlimited is hoping to expand into a new and bigger storage shed facility in the next few years. They have just begun working with the Salisbury Township on a plan to building a new manufacturing facility on the home family farm. We are hoping and praying for more good years ahead! says Chris Stoltzfus, an owner and manager in this growing family owned corporation.

Sheds Get Sexy as Artist Whiteread Obsesses at Gagosian - April 20, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Mike Bruce/Rachel Whiteread/Gate Studios/Gagosian Gallery via Bloomberg

"Detached 3" (2012), a work in concrete and steel by Rachel Whiteread. The artist's series is titled "Abject Objects."

Rachel Whiteread hasnt moved on in two decades. For Detached, her exhibition of sculpture at the Gagosian Gallery in London, she is doing exactly the same thing as when she first came to fame with House in 1993. She is still making casts of the internal space of structures.

House was a molding in concrete of the inside of an ordinary 19th-century dwelling. The centerpiece of the new show is made up of three casts of the interiors of garden sheds. This isnt so much a sign of lack of inspiration as a return to form.

It might sound like a criticism to say that an artist has not developed. Thats not necessarily so. Some artists innovate dynamically throughout their careers; you might call that the Picasso model. Others carry on doing the same thing, and -- so long as they carry on doing it well -- thats no disgrace.

The point of Whitereads work is that she is simultaneously a minimalist and a realist. The three concrete casts of sheds are placed in the middle of the main gallery at Gagosian very much as if they were big abstract sculptures by, say, Richard Serra or Donald Judd.

They have much the same chunky presence as works by those two artists. Whitereads work is not abstract. Go up close, and you find a meticulous record of the surface of ordinary things: wood grain, door fittings, the covering of the roof.

One of the traditional functions of art is to represent ordinary objects in a way that makes them seem beautiful and/or interesting. Suddenly sheds arent just boringly mundane.

Whiteread was one of the younger artists of the 1990s for whom the late Lucian Freud had most time. When you think about it, you can see why. He too spent a great deal of time reproducing such things as floorboards, doors and window frames. For that matter, Velasquez devoted a lot of effort to depicting a water pitcher, Caravaggio a peeling wall.

Whiteread isnt a painter but that quite unusual thing, a still-life sculptor. The challenge for an artist who makes pictures is to collapse the three dimensions of the world onto a flat surface. For a sculptor, the fundamental problem is to make an object that will be different enough from all the other 3D stuff in the world to seem interesting and maybe beautiful.

Warehouse’s Red Sheds ‘fade to grey’ - April 13, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

    By Jonathan Underhill

April 11 (BusinessDesk) Warehouse Group chief executive Mark Powell is toning down the use of red in the retailers iconic Red Sheds as part of efforts to give shoppers a better experience and shake the cheap and nasty image.

Red is a very aggressive colour, Powell told reporters in Wellington. The company is aiming to be discount and contemporary, not cheap and nasty, he said.

As part of a store-by-store $1.5 million refit, the use of red paint is being toned down on the outside of the stores and inside grey racking is replacing red shelves, which could be a bit oppressive, he said.

Powell led a tour of the Warehouse Porirua store to show off the finished product. About 100 sub-standard brands that spoil our image have been weeded off the shelves from a range of 60,000 products.

The retailer has replaced brands including Cascade small home appliances and is phasing out Transonic electronics such as stereos and televisions. In place is Kensington, a house brand for appliances, and an exclusive multi-year deal with Haier to launch an entry level washing machine, the Aspira, which will sell at $599 and $699. It has also added the Sony, Veon and Kambrook brands.

Powell, who was promoted to CEO from head of Warehouse Stationery in 2011, says the company is making up for a decade of underperformance.

Founder Stephen Tindall did an amazing job in the retailers first two decades then we just had a lost decade, we lost our way for 10 years, Powell said.

He also acknowledged previous missteps at the retailer, including 2008s Project Invigorate that took 500 workers out of the stores and didnt leave enough to stock the shelves.

Warehouse has made four acquisitions in the past six months online retailer Topedo7, appliance retailer Noel Leeming, specialist importers Insight Traders (which has sourced perfumes among other lines) and online distribution firm Complete Entertainment Services.
