School leaders hope a new principal will be in place at Boyden School come fall with an aggressive summer search.
Superintendent Lincoln Lynch outlined a timeline for the School Committee last Thursday to find a replacement for Mike Stanton, who is leaving Boyden to be principal of the Igo School in Foxboro.
Lynch hopes to name a new south school chief by July 27.
Hopefully we can negotiate it if we have the candidate of our choosing so the person hits the ground running, he said.
Stanton resigned from the district at the end of May and finished out the academic year with Boyden School. He promised to help his replacement transition into the new job even after his departure.
Nancy Gallivan, the newly installd chairman of the School Committee, said she was sad to see Stanton leave but understood his decision.
Weve been extremely well-served by Mike Stanton and he deserves our best wishes because hes given an awful lot and done very good things for our children, she said.
All Boyden parents are invited to a focus group on Wednesday, June 27 to talk about the qualities they want in a new principal. The meeting is set for 7 p.m. in Boyden Schools media lab.
A selection recommendation committee led by former School Committee chairman Brian Walsh will conduct interviews on July 10 and 11 to recommend one or two candidates to Lynch, who will make the final call.
With a short window during summer vacation, no site visits will be held since school is not in session. School Committee member Allan Cameron, an elementary principal in Westwood, made the suggestion.

This can be done in many ways, but one of the most effective ways is by replacing your windows. If you happen to have older windows chances are here is a draft flowing through and making your house much colder then it should be. The heat you are generating goes right out the window and can cost you hundreds of dollars each month. By replacing your windows you will be able to keep the heat inside your house, thus reducing your heating costs. Proper insulation can lower your heating bills by thousands of dollars!

Good morning, Clackamas County. You might've noticed the OregonLive website has a new look. Read all about the changes after you check out this morning's roundup of Clackamas County news:
Happy Valley: A four-year-old boy fell 15 feet from a window of a two-story house in Happy Valley last night, and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The parents were preparing dinner when the child went upstairs, climbed a bunk bed to get onto the window sill and began kicking the screen, which eventually gave way, witnesses said.
Lake Oswego: The Lake Oswego City Council recently approved a $242,417,322 budget for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. The budget maintains the current property tax rate, instead of one that remains flat as the budget committee recommended, and also provides funds for a streetsweeper replacement and other equipment replacements. The same council majority decided on the budget at its June 5 meeting, but because it would raise the tax rate above what the budget committee recommended, the decision had to be delayed for a second public review period. Wilsonville: John C. Davis, a real estate and business lawyer who lives in Wilsonville, announced Monday he too wants a shot at running for Rep. Matt Wingards Oregon House seat this fall. Davis joins Lindsay Berschauer, a 31-year-old conservative activist, in seeking the approval of Oregon Republican precinct members at a meeting July 9. Davis, 29, is an associate at law firm McEwen Gisvold.
Oregon City: Oregon City Mayor Doug Neely will have a little fun at the upcoming Clackamas County Historical Society annual meeting, when he portrays a mayor from more than a century ago, Dr. John McLoughlin. The performance from Neeley will be followed by Patrick Harris, who will finish up the historical society's "Cities of Clackamas County speaker series. The event is Thursday.
Events: Another Tuesday, another roundup of things to do in your area. This week's options include a lavender festival in Oregon City, featuring a botanical garden, a lavender U-pick and lavender ice cream. The free event will run from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat, June 30 and noon-5 p.m. Sun, July 1 at Oregon Lavender Farm, 20949 S. Harris Road. Vickie Kavanagh this morning also shares happenings in Happy Valley, Estacada, Sandy, Milwaukie, and Gladstone.

23-06-2012 19:54 This video was intended to go over door strap maintenance, but ended up being a continuation of the previous power window repair shot a couple of weeks ago. In this video, I detail how to fasten the new plastic regulator jaw to the regulator arm as well as replace both power window switches in the center console and door panel. This window was working properly, but was working with a non-OEM repair. Repairing it properly revealed the beginning stages of regulator jaw failure which was averted with a preemptive repair. 6/23/2012
