How to clean the subfloor before flooring installation
If you decide to get new floors installed, there are a few steps you need to take before the actual floor install. After you remove the carpet, pad and tack strip, you need to clean the subfloor before installing your floor. The paint extras need to be removed, pieces of old pad, carpet adhesive, staples or nails. The best way to do all these is using a metal scraper you see in this video. This step is followed by vacuuming the floor and leveling (if needed).
