PENTWATER The partial reopening of Business 31, from Park Street to U.S. 31 north to Ludington was greeted with lots of enthusiasm this week.

The southern end of the Business 31 detour is still closed, with traffic being routed north on Clymer, then west to Hancock as drivers come into Pentwater from Monroe Road.

Various streets that need to be repaired will be surveyed and those decisions will be made according to the money available for repairs, the Pentwater Village Council heard Monday.

Grass seeding for those streets already resurfaced will be done in the spring of 2013.

Village sign

Village President Juanita Pierman reported the new village sign is working well and there have been many good comments from residents and visitors.

Leaf Pickup

DPW crews are working hard to get leaves picked up, according to Village Manager Jim Miller. The next couple of weeks should see a vast improvement, with the crews working every day they can until all is clear or they get snowed out.
