If you are looking to get your driveway paved then you probably want to do your research before hand to help you understand just how much you should expect to pay. Unfortunately there is no fixed, simple answer to this question and the costs of driveway paving will vary according to location, size of the driveway, the materials used and more.

One popular driveway paving option is to use asphalt. There is no fixed cost for asphalting, and there are different grades available depending on your particular driveway. You may also choose to go with cement, but bear in mind that this could end up costing around one and a half times to twice the cost for each square metre over asphalting. When using cement you will also need to add on a small cost per square foot to seal the cement, so bear this in mind when looking for quotes.
Just like asphalt, there are a few different types of cement. Broom-finished concrete is generally the cheapest and does not usually cost too much more than asphalt. Many people choose this over asphalt simply because it is a less slippery surface and provides more colour possibilities. However, if you wish to have a glossy finish, or an effect such as swirls, then you should always expect to pay a little more for each square foot.
Brick pavers are also widely used for driveway paving. You should expect to pay around three or more times the amount for these per square foot as you would for cement. However, they are generally chosen because they look more interesting, and are more expensive due to the fact that they require a lot more work than the previous options. They are often extremely durable, which is an undoubtedly important factor.
As you can see, the price of your driveway paving is to a degree down to you. Whether you want to get an aesthetically pleasing design or something that performs its function will affect the overall cost. You may also find that paying a little more in the beginning will make for a driveway that is far more durable and will last for many years to come. The best way to find out your exact costs will be to get in touch with someone who is willing to pave your driveway and compare their quotes to several other companies.
