Raiders broke into six sheds at a village allotments - making off with spanners.

Police are appealing for information after the sheds were broken into in Newton Road, Whittlesford. Theburglaries happened between Monday and Tuesday last week. Offenders have entered the sheds by forcing locks and stole a gallon of petrol in a red can, various tools including a roll of spanners.

And a callous thief stole a wallet from a pram in Stapleford - while a parent was playing with their children.

The theft happened at the village recreation ground and happened on Friday last week at 3pm. The offender removed the wallet and works folder from an unattended pram, whilst owner was playing with their children in the play park.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.

The survey sample of more than 2,200 REMODELING magazine subscribers put Andersen at the top in two product segments Wood and Clad-Wood Windows, and Patio Doors. The 2013 study placed Andersen products number one in quality, brand familiarity, brands used in the past two years and brands used the most.

The REMODELING top rankings for 2013 shows 95 percent of respondents are familiar with Andersen wood & clad-wood windows, 65 percent have used Andersen products in the past two years, and 32 percent choose Andersen the most among wood & clad-wood window brands.

Similar results show the top-billing sentiment toward Andersen patio doors with 96 percent of respondents familiar with the Andersen brand, 61 percent using Andersen patio door products in the last two years, and 23 percent choosing Andersen patio doors most often.

The REMODELING Brand Use Study includes a nationwide survey of remodelers on their preferences related to a wide variety of products and brands. Results of the 2013 Brand Use Study were published in the August 2013 issue of REMODELING magazine and on the magazines website.

How building the pipes that connect apps to the cloud makes life easier for developers.

Coming up with an idea for a new app is often the easy part. Actually coding and debugging it is more of a challengeand then tying it into "backend" cloud services that offer storage, notifications and integration with social networks can just plain be a real slog.

Which is where services like Parse come in. The "backend as a service" startup, which Facebook acquired in April, aims to make it easy for developers to build great apps that run across multiple platforms such as iOS and Android.

In a sense, Parse and its rivalsserve as "app plumbers"they offer simple connections to the cloud's "pipes" that handle complex tasks many app developers would just as soon not have to figure out themselves. By doing so, they greatly simplify the task of making apps work on different platforms.
