The National Association of the Remodeling Industry's (NARI) first-quarter Remodeling Business Pulse (RBP) data of current and future remodeling business conditions is reaching new heights, as quarter-over-quarter increases are seen across all sub-components measuring remodeling activity.

As remodelers approach the busy season, overall current business conditions have seen steady increases since March of 2012, now at a statistically significant 5.97 rating compared with the 5.59 rating from one year before.

"Remodelers nationwide are not only experiencing increased activity right now, but many have a backlog of projects well into the fall," said Tom O'Grady, chairman of NARI's Strategic Planning and Research Committee and president of O'Grady Builders, based in Drexel Hill, Pa. "This current condition is world's away from March of last year and suggests that the recovery is beginning to gain speed."

Growth indicators in the first quarter of 2013 are as follows:

* Current business conditions up 1.0 percent since last quarter

* Number of inquiries up 4.9 percent since last quarter

* Requests for bids up 5.2 percent since last quarter

* Conversion of bids to jobs up 1.1 percent since last quarter

* Value of jobs sold is up 0.2 percent since last quarter

Sharp increases in the number of inquiries and requests for bids point speak directly to an increase in consumer confidence, especially in housing.

An invasive plant species, this weed can be extremely hard to get rid of.

" The weed has roots, when you kill one plant another pops up and it can have up to 30 feet long roots and its really difficult to kill, said Joel Holbrook, Assistant Supervisor for Weed and Pest Control.

Every summer Weed and Pest come out to spray as much of the county land as they can.

"Its been going really great, we just started on this site yesterday, and we have just been covering a lot of ground with the whole crew, said Sierra Crisp, Seasonal Hand for Weed and Pest Control.

BANGALORE: A 30-year-old interior decorator was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his Rajarajeswari Nagar house on Wednesday.

The decomposed body of Chandrashekar Rao, who hailed from Tumkur and occupant of a rented house in Kenchanahalli, was found on a mat in the main hall. Police officers said that the post mortem would indicate how he died.

Chandrashekar had been living in this house for seven months. He was a diploma holder in civil engineering and was an interior decorator with a private firm for the past two years. Chandrashekar was a bachelor and police are yet to ascertain details about his family.

His landlord Krishna Reddy found the body. In the statement to the police, Reddy said he hadn't seen Chandrashekar since Sunday. He initially thought his tenant had gone to his home town but on Wednesday, he noticed a foul smell in the house. On peeping through the window, Reddy saw the decomposed body.

On being alerted by the landlord, police broke open the door and shifted the body to the morgue.

The electric heater in the toilet in a plastic bucket was on and the bucket had melted. The landlord told police two boys had been living with Chandrashekar for a couple of months but they had moved out a month ago. Reddy didn't know much about the duo.

An investigation officer said: "When we went call details of the victim's mobile phone, we found he had last made a call on Sunday morning and there were some missed calls on his phone after which he had switched it off."

High winds and dry conditions led to multiple fires around Utah on Thursday.

Crews fought back a brush fire in Provo that began with an electrical wire that was damaged in high winds. The brush fire near 2751 North and 175 East was under control about 9 p.m. No buildings had been burned, dispatchers said, but some fences had caught fire. Gusts over 40 mph were reported around Provo, according to the National Weather Service.

Above the Fox Hollow subdivision of Saratoga Springs, another fire had burned 20 to 25 acres as of 10 p.m. on Lake Mountain. Crews contained the fire as of 10:30 p.m. Winds in Saratoga Springs gusted as fast as 68 mph on Thursday.

Other fires broke out in central and southern Utah. In Carbon County, the Rock Creek fire had burned 110 acres about 15 miles east of East Carbon, said Heather McLean, U.S. Forest Service spokeswoman. Crews also were battling a fire near Desolation Canyon on the Green River; the size of that fire was not known.

The Lackey Sand fire had burned about 18 acres and was growing near La Sal in San Juan County, McLean said. Three other smaller fires were reported in San Juan County, McLean said. Crews were headed to the Butts Point fire, which had burned 1 to 3 acres on the south side of the Abajo Range in the Manti-La Sal National Forest, McLean said.

06/14/2013 . Fences, a.k.a. Christopher Mansfield, will be releasing his sophomore album, "The Internal Diving Board," later this year under his brand new deal with Elektra Records.

"The Internal Diving Board" was produced by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Of Monsters and Men, Modest Mouse) and features his frequent on-stage cohorts Ben Greenspan who also co-wrote material on the album and Lindsey Starr, Death Cab For Cutie drummer Jason McGerr, and rapper Macklemore, whom Fences has collaborated with in the past.
