Wood fences have a traditional look but require ongoing maintenance. You may need to paint or stain them every few years.
Wood panel fencing sometimes called stockade fencing improves privacy and security and isa good choice for setting boundaries for children and pets. Individual components boards and rails and prebuilt panels come in sections 4 to 6 feet tall and 6 or 8 feet long. There are two basic types of panels:

Picket fencing adds a decorative element and may also work for pet containment. These fences have spaced boards or pickets running along one side of the fence rail and are generally a maximum of 4 feet tall. They are available in preassembled panels up to 8 feet in length and as individual components
Panels and picket fencing materials are available with dog-eared tops and with pointed tops in several styles. You can also find panels with lattice tops to give the fence an ornamental touch.

Split-rail fencing also known as post-and-rail fencing adds a rustic look to a landscape. Use this type of fence to define specific areas in your yard or provide an easily visible separation along property lines. The horizontal rails are available either split or round in lengths from 8 to 11 feet.
Depending on the region and style, wood fencing is available in cedar, pine, redwood or spruce. Cedar and redwood are resistant to decay and insects. Spruce and pineare typically pressure-treated to deter insects and decay.

History is often written by the victor .. For me to give a review about a movie that hasn't been out for 24 hrs is a Forest But just from the previews I know that this movie has presents, passion and delivery to capture the true story of the second most forgotten story of the lost people of America _The American black people _Second to the American Indian. This movie is powerful Beyond reproach Chief Andrew Jackson USN(ret)
Heard it's very good so I pre ordered it.
Denzel Washington provides an emotional, well written, and realistic script that makes you feel like you are right there with Denzel and Viola Davis. Fences will have you feeling happy, sad, and at sometimes, wanting to talk to some of the characters in the film while watching. If you love a good, well written, Drama, then this movie is for you. But, if you like fast moving or action-packed films, well then this isn't for you.Fences puts you into the shoes of a struggling, African American family in the mid 50's, but when the film ends you ultimately start thinking, "What was the plot?". Denzel makes an amazingly real film that has your heart racing and that plays with our emotions but, ultimately (when you think about it) had no plot.I will give Denzel Washington's Fences 5 stars for delivering an emotional and real story.

**UPDATE** Wow. We've raised over 10 times the orginial campaign ammount. That is truly amazing. Thank you so much to everybody who has donated. I am truly humbled. I never expected this campaign to get this big. This has been great for the charities, but it hasn't been so great for me personally. I have already said all I am going to say on the matter, and any further requests for comment will be ignored. Thank you so much for your genorosity! I will be leaving this page up until Sunday Evening (GMT) if anyone else wants to donate, after which time 100% of the funds will be split between the two charities. Thankyou for all the interest, it's been a truly humbling 24 hours. I now need to concentrate on my University studies, which have been poorly neglected over the last day. Thanks again, Liam x
I recently took a girl I met on tinder to Nandos. We had a lovely evening, and enjoyed each others company very much. After our meal, we repaired back to my house for a bottle of wine and a scientology doccumentary.
About an hour in to Louis Theroux and chill, my date got up to use the toilet. She returned with a panicked look in her eye, and told me she had something to tell me.
"I went for a poo in your toilet", she told me "and it would not flush. I don't know why I did this, but I panicked", she continued "I reached into the toilet bowl, wrapped it in tissue paper, and threw it out of the window".
I was understandably concerned, and told her we would go outside, bag up the offending poo in the garden, bin it, and pretend the whole sorry affair had never happened. Unfortunately, owing to a design quirk of my house, the toilet window does not in fact open to the garden, but instead into a narrow gap of about a foot and a half, seperated from the outside world by another (non-opening) double glazed window. It was into this twilight zone that my date had thrown her poo. Here are two photos to illustrate:(the offending package within the window)
(The gap)
As can be seen in the picture, the inside window opens at the top, into the gap that is seperated from the garden by a non-opening double-glazed window pane. Seeing only one solution, I messaged our house group-chat, and went upstairs to find a hammer and chisel to smash open the window.
My date had other ideas.
Being an amateur gymnast, she was convinced that she could reach into the window and pull the poo out, using the tried and tested "inside out blag as glove" technique. Unfortunately she couldn't reach. She climbed further in and had the same problem. Eventually I agreed to give her a boost up and into the window. She climbed in head first after her own turd, reached deeper into the window, bagged it up, and passed it out, over the top and back into the toilet from whence it came. She called out to me to help her climb out from the window, I grabbed her waist and I pulled. But she was stuck. Stuck fast. Try as we might, we could not remove her from the window. She was stuck fast, upside down in the gap. Here is a picture to illustrate:
(My date, upside down in the window)
Unfortunately for my date, at this stage I could see only one way out of our predicament. She had been upside down in the window for around 15 minutes at this point, and I was starting to grow concerned for her health. I called the fire brigade.
Bristol's finest were on scene sirens blairing in a matter of minutes. Once they had composed themselves after surveying the scene in front of them, they set to work removing my date from the window using all of their special firemen hammers and tools. It took them about 15 minutes. Here is a picture of them working:
(Easy does it)
Unfortunately, although they rescued my date unharmed from what must have been a rather unpleasant confined space to find yourself in, in the process they had to completely destroy the window with their special fire tools. I'm not complaining, they did what they had to do. Problem is, I've been quoted north of 300 to replace the window. As a postgraduate student, that is a significant chunk of my monthly budget (in fact, that is my monthly budget).
So I'm turning to the internet for help. If people could donate just a couple of pounds/dollars/yen/ruppee/North Korea Won to help me repair my (now broken) window I would be enternally greatful. If the window is not replaced my landlord may well kill me, so you would be literally helping to save a life.
Oh yeah, and if by some miracle I manage to raise more money through this page than the cost of the window, any remainder will be split 50/50between two charities:
First, toilet twinning, a charity building and maintaining flushing toilets in the developing world. 60% of people worldwide don't have access to a flushing toilet, which, when you think about it, really is pretty shit.
Seccond, to the firefighters charity. The guys who came to the house were brilliant, took everything in good humour, and profesional. This call out was pretty funny, but they do risk their lifes on a daily basis, and the firefighters charity provides financial, psychological and medical help to the brave men and women who risk their lives for us.
Thanks in advance gofundme!
(I'm keeping myself and my date anonymous for pretty obvious reasons. She knows about this gofundme page and is cool with it, so plaes respect our privacy)

If you are in need of tree removal call Arbormax Tree Service in Raleigh. We have been Safely removing trees for three generations and we have the equipment and experience to handle any of your tree removal needs.
We are proud to say that we have safely removed over a half million trees throughout the years. But for us it goes farther than just removing a tree. Every tree that we remove, we want to do it the best, safest, most efficient and cost effective way possible. In order for us to accomplish this we have stayed on the cutting edge of advancements in our industry. We continually implement new practices and methods for removing trees. By staying current, we are able to offer you the best tree removal service possible at the lowest cost.
One thing we will never do is recommend tree removal when it is not warranted. It has become a common practice for less professional companies to instill a sense of fear in perspective clients. By telling them a tree has a higher probability of failure than it actually does. And of course you have companies on the opposite side of the spectrum that almost always recommend pruning and do not properly asses the risk of the tree. Our certified arborists have more experience with hazardous trees than anyone in our industry, and thats a fact. They are properly trained in diagnosing hazardous trees and recognizing aggravating factors that may cause a tree to fail. Even though we love trees, we do not take a biased approach when evaluating them for risk. Our job is to provide you with all of the facts and help you to make an informed decision.

Most homeowners know very little about the tree removal process and what it takes to safely remove a tree. There are an infinite number of variables that come into play during the tree removal procedure. Every tree is unique and requires a different approach. There are various methods of tree removal that utilize different equipment and techniques. The following methods are the most common techniques used when removing trees.
This is the simplest process for getting the tree onto the ground. The first step is to estimate the trees height. After the trees height is determined the cutter will survey the area to see if there is enough room to safely drop the tree. In most urban settings there is not enough room to safely drop the entire tree and the tree must be taken apart in sections. If there is enough room. The cutter will judge the lean of the tree. He will check for symmetry to see if there is more weight on one side or the other. He will look for any defects in the trunk such as cavities or rot that could cause the notch to prematurely give way. All of this will tell the tree cutter what type of notch to use and where to put it. Before a notch is cut in the tree, a rope will be tied to the top of it.
This will allow the tree removal crew to guide the tree in the desired direction. Once the tree is evaluated and the rope is set the cutting process will begin. A notch also known as a wedge will be cut to help direct the tree where to go. The final cut is also known as the back cut. When cutting the back cut the direction of the fall is able to be changed by cutting more or less of one side. The wood that is left between the back cut and the wedge is the hinge wood. Hinge wood holds the falling tree for a brief second and pulls it to the direction with more hinge wood.
This is the most common tree removal process for removing trees that are close to structures, power lines and other obstacles. Like any other tree removal process it starts with evaluating the tree and formulating a plan for removal. A good tree climber like the ones we have here at Arbormax will dismantle the entire tree in their mind before they ever touch it. The most important part about planning the tree removal is finding a central point to set your rigging from. Once the rigging has been set in place the climber will cut and lower all necessary limbs. After all of the limbs have been removed and only the trunk remains he will cut the trunk into the desired lengths. Sometimes these pieces will be cut and dropped to the ground. If there is not enough room to simply drop the pieces they will be lowered with ropes. A climber must know which direction to notch and the cut limbs and logs so they swing only the desired direction and distance. Skilled grounds personnel are as important as the climber. They must be able to properly guide the limb when it is cut free. Once the limb is severed the rope man will allow it to freefall for a brief moment and then gradually decrease the descent of the limb. This will reduce the static load that is placed on the rigging point. There is always a specific landing zone for the branches and logs to be roped into. Sometimes the landing is directly below the rigging point and simply lowering it is sufficient. But occasionally landing areas can be 20-30 feet from the rig point. The rope man has to time the swing rate and descent speed accurately to hit his target. If the ground man holds the rope one second to long or to little it could have serious consequences. Property damage, personal injury and even death. Never let an untrained person climb person climb or cut a tree for you.
This is the most up to date, safest and efficient way to remove a tree. It is also what we are best at. We love using our cranes to delicately and effortlessly remove trees and gracefully fly the massive pieces of trees through the air. Simply put it is Awesome! The tree removal process starts by finding a place to set the crane up. This is usually discussed with the property owner during the estimating process. This place must have enough room to accommodate the 18x 24 foot footprint of the outriggers and be somewhat level. It must also be within the safe operating radius of the trees. The size of the tree to be removed plays a role in determining the safe operating radius. Our cranes have 165 feet of boom and jib when fully extended which is approximately the height of a fifteen story building. Height isnt usually our main concern though. Its distance, the farther you reach away from the crane the less you can pick up. As a rule of thumb our general operating radius is 90 ft. For smaller trees we can go 135 foot away from the crane. Once we have set the crane up and leveled it the operator will telescope the boom out and put it in place over the tree that is to be removed. The crane ball will then be lowered to the climber who is waiting at the base of the tree. He will tie his safety line in and be hoisted to the top of the tree. Once he has reached the top of the tree he will attach the cable and instruct the operator to apply tension. He will then repel down his rope to the predetermined cut area. Once he is tied in he makes the cut. The crane operator lifts the cut section off of the tree and swings it to the landing zone. Once in the landing zone the ground crew will disconnect the cable so the crane operator and climber can make the next pick. This process is repeated until the tree has been removed please visit our Crane assisted tree removal page for more info.
Above are three methods of getting the tree on the ground. But we havent said anything about what happens once it is there. When it hits the ground is when the magic happens. Thats when the hardest working men you have ever seen come into play. Our ground operations specialists have been compared to angry termites with chainsaws and beavers on steroids. Their work is often compared to that of a well orchestrated ballet, where everyone is in sync. They have been known to dismantle entire pine trees in seconds. These guys really know what to do when the wood hits the ground. Everything that we cut and remove is used. 100% no exceptions. The ground crew will instinctively cut everything to spec so that it can be placed on the right truck. All limbs, branches and logs under 12 inches will be ran through the wood chipper and turned into usable mulch. All wood over ten inches in diameter will be cut into log lengths. These logs will go to various mills to be turned into products like paper, lumber and furniture. Once all of the large pieces of the tree have been removed the crew will then rake and blow the yard. They always leave the yard cleaner than they found it.
Below are typical reasons for removing trees. If you have any of the following situations please call us and we can send an arborists out for a free consultation.
Trees that are dead should be removed as soon as possible. The longer you wait to take a dead tree down the more unstable the wood becomes. If a tree is left for too long it will not be able to be climbed and will require specialty equipment. This will increase the tree removal cost substantially. Some signs that your tree is dead are.
Declining and dying trees should be removed before they die completely. This will make the tree removal process safer and easier therefore cheaper. Some signs that you have a dying tree include.
Sometimes we have to take a tree down because its just too dang ugly. Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder and landscapes require diversity to be complete. Not all crooked trees should be removed. But if you have one that is just hideous and you cant take it anymore. Call us out and we will cut it down for you.
Trees grow best when they do not have to compete with one another. This doesnt necessarily mean that you should cut down 16 Maple trees so your 1 tulip poplar can develop. This is where our arborists come into play. We will gladly come out and explain in detail which trees should be removed or pruned so others can develop.
We are often the first step in a new landscaping process. Tree removal is usually incorporated into new landscape designs. We worked closely with landscape architects to ensure we meet all of the landscaping goals. Whether you are a landscape architect or a homeowner, if you are embarking on a new project we would be glad to help.
If any of the above apply to you or if you have any other reason for removing a tree we are the company for you. We have the equipment and expertise to handle any tree removal project no matter how big or small. Please take a moment to review some of our previous tree removal projects. Link to page

Steps
Method 1
1
2
3
Pull out the roots. Use a grub hoe to wrench the remaining embedded roots out of the ground to their very tips. If you need to make more cuts as you go, do so it will make pulling them out of the ground easier. Keep going until you've removed all of the major roots, then go back and pull out anything that's left.
4
5
Fill in the hole. The final step is to fill up the hole with loam or sawdust. If you fail to do so, the ground around the hole will collapse and you'll have a large dent at that spot in your yard. As the loam or sawdust settles, the ground will sink in a bit, so you may need to keep adding material to the area every few months before the ground will stay flat.
Method 2
1
2
Position it over the stump and start grinding. Following the manufacturer's instructions, position the stump grinder and turn it on. It will grind the stump's surface and work its way down into the ground to grind up the roots. You'll need to move the stump grinder around the circumference of the stump in order to take care of the aerial roots as well.
3
Shovel out the grindings. The ground will repair itself more quickly if you remove the ground up wood. Shovel it out and put it in your compost pile or dispose of it in another way.
4
Method 3
1
Find out if it is legal to burn the stump. There may be restrictions in your area for open fires, especially if you live someplace with draught conditions. Before you begin, call the local fire department to make sure it's okay to burn your stump.
2
3
Keep the fire burning. It will take several hours to burn the stump. Keep adding more wood so that the fire stays large and hot. Keep it burning for as long as it takes for the stump to alight and burn down to the ground.
4
Shovel out the ash. After the stump has burned, shovel the ash out of the hole and discard it.
5
Fill the hole. Replace the ash with loam or sawdust. Keep adding matter to the area when it sinks every few months.
Method 4
1
Drill holes in the stump. Use a drill with a large bit to drill a series of holes in the top of the stump. The stump will absorb the chemicals through these holes, so make sure you space them evenly.
2
3
Keep children and animals away from the stump. If the stump removal powder is ingested, it can cause harm to kids and pets, so make sure they don't go near it.
4
Monitor the stump. It should begin to soften and rot within a few weeks. When you deem it to be soft enough to easily remove, it's time to finish the job.
5
Chop it up. Use an ax or a shovel to chop up the softened stump. Remove pieces as you chop them away. Keep going until you've leveled the stump.
6
Burn the rest. Build a fire over the remaining softened wood and let it burn all the way down. This way you'll remove what's left of the stump and its roots.
7
Replace the ashes with loam. Dig out what's left after the fire has burned and discard it. Fill up the hole with loam or another filler, like sawdust. Keep adding more material over the next few months until the ground stays leveled.
How do I remove the little starter trees my plum trees created, along with the stumps?
wikiHow Contributor
If they aren't more than 1 to 2 inches thick, yank them out, or use a shovel to pull it out. The roots will decay. Saplings can be pulled by hand.
What are some consequences of leaving the stump in the ground?
wikiHow Contributor
It decays after a few years. Stumps can become nesting grounds for snakes and ants. If cut too low, stumps can damage lawnmower blades.
Is it possible to kill and decay a tree's roots prior to cutting the tree down? Could I drill holes into and around the base of the tree, pour in the chemical, and wait for the roots and lower trunk to soften, then remove the tree, the softened stump material and roots?
wikiHow Contributor
That doesn't sound like a good idea because you can't predict the point where the stump no longer has the strength to hold up the rest of the tree. Bad news for the car, house, or anything else close by.

Call Us Today!806-424-0163When should tree removal be done?
The best time to remove a tree is when it is dormant. In the Texas Panhandle that time is from late fall to early spring. There are several factors why this time is ideal. Growth rates during these months are low as well as sap production. Without the canopy of leaves, removal is also much easier. These reasons make the cooler months ideal when removing and trimming trees.
Tree RemovalTrees are a great addition to any home or commercial property, but sometimes they are an unwanted nuisance or hazard. Older trees can fall victim to disease causing them to decay and die. They can also be damaged by storms or high winds. That small tree planted years ago has grown much larger and now is too close to your home or office. There are many reasons to have a tree removed and many ways a tree company can remove them. Here at Tree Service Amarillowe match the technique and tools, with the job, to provide you the best tree removal service possible. Tree Trimming and Pruning
Stump GrindingIf you are victim to the pesky remnants of a tree long since cut, we definitely can help. Most homeowners in Amarillo that have had trees removed unfortunately are usually left with a stump at, or below, ground level. There is no way to rid your lawn, or property, of stumps without specialized machinery. We have the expertise and equipment to grind down stumps and their trailing roots, ensuring you a proper medium for lawns or flowers.
Tree CablingIn the Amarillo area homes are abundant with live oaks that are many years old. As these trees have aged many of their main support branches have grown long and somewhat horizontal. Conditions such as this are prime for cabling as a threshold will be met where the weight of the limb cannot be supported by the tree alone. Sometimes trees need a little help in supporting limbs from overgrowth or high winds. If you have a beautiful limb that has grown more than can be supported on its own, then tree cabling might be a consideration. Cabling involves supporting the weight of weaker limbs with steel cables. It can be dangerous to both the person and tree - a professional is definitely recommended. If done properly the supported limb can continue to grow and thrive.
Storm Damage Clean-up
When choosing a tree care company it is important to choose one that puts your interest first. Many companies are not licensed or bonded, and many do not have proper training in tree care principles. Choosing the wrong company, which may only be a few landscaping type guys, can cause more harm than good to your trees and structures. A tree that is dead or dying poses a danger if left standing. Dead branches can easily fall and a decaying tree can be a health hazard because of mold and bacteria. Live trees may need to be removed if they are obstructing other trees or coming into contact with a house or electrical wires. Use these steps to remove a tree.

Set up at least 2 escape routes. These routes should be clear of obstacles. Escape routes are used if the tree begins to fall out of control.
6
7
Decide where the tree should fall.
8
Cut a 45-degree V into the tree in the direction you want the tree to fall. This is called the undercut and it should be about a quarter of the tree's diameter deep.
9
Cut straight into the oppose site about 2 inches (5.08 cm) above the undercut. This is called the backcut and it releases the stress the undercut places on the tree.
10
Move out of the way when the tree begins to fall.
11
Remove all the branches. Start from the bottom of the tree and work your way up to the top.
12
Cut the bare log of the tree into 2 foot (60.96 cm) pieces.

Our tree experts can determine the best action when removing a tree; sometimes they may recommend relocation or replacement by a more suitable tree type.
After tree cutting a tree, the work is not usually done; there will be a need to remove a stump. This is actually the hardest task. Many tree service companies seldom include stump removal leaving this unenviable task in the hand of a homeowner.
Thats why its important to select the best tree care professional, like those from Tree Removal Denver! Our experts are happy to answer any questions you may have, provide free estimates, and provide the best possible service for you!
There are different ways to remove a stump, but grinding is the most preferred way. Stump grinding is not something you should try at home, although some homeowners do. The exact course of action will depend on the type of a tree stump, its root systems, your soil conditions, age of the stump among other things. We will handle all that and more if you give us a call to schedule your free estimate.
All trees grow quickly, hence a need to be trimmed or lopped. The main objective of tree trimming is to improve the tree structure and of course its overall health. Your tree care professionals will be able to assess the trimming needs, select the branches that will be removed either to create a better tree structure, lessen wind resistance or to reduce problems related to storm damage. Most likely trimming will be done on young trees but as noted above that will definitely depend on your individual circumstances.
Pruning services provide various benefits to the tree and to you, as a homeowner. There are different ways pruning is done, but your ideal tree tree Service and removal company should be able to recommend the type of pruning necessary to maintain your tree or improve its health or its appearance. They may decide to remove self-infected or damaged limbs, dead limbs or eliminate branches that are rubbing each other. They will also remove limbs interfering with electric wires, building thereby obstructing views, sidewalks or streets.
We can also provide other auxiliary services like tree planting, fertilization, cabling and emergency tree care. The emergency service is especially very important especially during a storm when branches and the entire tree lands on a building, cars or other trees. A good tree care professional should assist in safe removal of the tree and determine the best cause of action to your tree without leaving your family exposed to dangers associated with improper tree care.
