Due to the high cost of removing old drywall, many homeowners tackle this part of the job themselves. Working around cabinets and countertops: In remodeling jobs, if youre not replacing cabinets, countertops, built-in bookshelves and similar structures, the drywall hanging and finishing estimates will be higher.

Even in new home construction, it's quite possible that at least one wall will have a patch before it's had its first coat of paint.

You'll simplify the repair process by making the patch first, then tracing its outline onto the wall. When you cut the hole, you know the patch will fit. Reversing the procedure results in a tedious trial-and-error sequence.

Home centers or hardware stores also stock a variety of drywall patches that can speed the repair. Some patches have a self-adhesive back; others must be embedded into joint compound.

Starting in 2006 the City of San Antonio, under the leadership of Mayor Howard Peek, set out to create linear parkways along Salado, Medina and Leon Creeks. Given its status as a major metropolitan city, San Antonio was woefully lacking when it came to hike and bike trails. Unlike contained city parks, which are certainly wonderful features in any city, the Greenway system connects neighborhoods, promotes healthful activities, and offers citizens a chance to engage nature in a deeper way. With forty years of history as one of San Antonios most natural destinations, we thought partnering with the city on the Greenway was a great way to share the beauty of Los Patios with others. Initially, our segment will begin at our front entrance on Loop 410 and continue to Ladybird Johnson Park about 1.2 miles to our north. In 2011, the trail will be completed to Mcallister Park with eventual connections beyond!

When asked why Los Patios has remained such a popular, repeat destination for so many San Antonians and out-of-towners John (who sold the business in 1998) admits, a property as beautiful as this will always attract people. When we added the restaurant and then the shops, the appeal continued to grow. Simply put, Los Patios success is a natural and we plan on keeping it that way.
