Cabinet refacing is a great way to give your kitchen a new look without the pit falls of typical remodeling. A kitchen can be totally transformed from an old tired looking messy space, to a beautiful new dazzling entertainment space.
A typical refacing project takes as little as 1 to 2 days from start to finish. You don't have that huge tear out mess that seems to go on forever. Refacing allows you to use your existing cabinets (provided there is nothing wrong with the cabinet box) and apply new doors and drawer fronts. This eliminates filling the landfills with perfectly good cabinets. In many cases, if your drawers are damaged, you can change the drawer boxes to wood dovetailed full extension soft close drawers.
Refacing also offers you the ability to use your kitchen during the installation process. There is no need to empty all of your cabinets or disconnect your plumbing or even remove the refrigerator or range.
Refacing offers many different color choices from a standard laminate to solid wood or even decorative glass. In many cases, the wall cabinets can be replaced with new cabinets to not only give the kitchen a new look, but to add a design element as well. The wall cabinets can be designed to stagger heights and depths and give a whole new dimension to the room.
Cabinet refacing gives you a new look and style with a tremendous savings in time and cost. If the existing kitchen foot print is efficient and the cabinets are in good shape, then refacing is the answer. Visit one of our 3 St. Louis area locations to get started today!

What is N-Hance?
N-Hance is a process that transforms wood floors and cabinets to like-new condition. The N-Hance process does not include sanding or the use of noxious chemicals; so when an N-Hance professional renews, repairs, and revitalizes your wood, there is No Dust. No Mess. No Odor. Each N-Hance franchise is operated locally.
The primary application for N-Hance is hardwood floors and wood cabinets. N-Hance professionals have also refinished doors, trim, and railings. Softwoods like pine and poplar can also be effectively renewed with N-Hance.
There a few different floor refinishing options available to you through N-Hance. A basic hardwood floor renewal will let your refinished floor shine like new again, but without the mess associated with a typical sanding. If your hardwood floors are worn down to the bare wood or have cross-grain scratches, a hammered floor renewal is the right refinishing service for you. Our technician can bring your hardwood floors back to life in just a couple days. Popular surfaces such as cork, bamboo and distressed floors cannot be safely sanded. For these floors, our non-sandable floor refinishing service is the ideal solution.
For the most affordable cabinet renewal service, our basic renewal can return shine and luster to your wood cabinets by removing grease, dirt and by touching up any unsightly spots or blemishes. For a gentle change in the appearance of your cabinetry, a color shift will warm the tone of your cabinets. If you're looking to make a statement with color, a complete color change is the renewal choice for you. We can generally match any color or finish from our Design Center, and in 3-5 days, you'll have a brand-new looking kitchen at a very affordable cost.
N-Hance uses a patented process and solution that eliminates the need to sand off an old finish or damage caused by water or time. Because the process is done with non-toxic solutions, there is no dust, no mess, and no odor. In most cases the entire process can be completed in one day or less.
The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card offers no annual fee, everyday special financing and exclusive Home Depot benefits.
There's also The Home Depot Project Loan. It offers affordable fixed monthly payments, a 6-month purchasing window and no prepayment penalty.

The first decision to make when considering a brick paver patio is location. Identify and mark off the area of your outdoor living space you'll be working withyou can mark it off with landscape flags, landscape marking paint or measuring tape. The latter will be especially helpful in determining the amount of brick pavers you'll ultimately need for your patio.
Once you have a general idea of the space you'll be working with, you need to decide which kind of brick pavers are right for your design. You'll have lots of styles from which to choose, including non-tumbled (or smooth), tumbled (weathered), embossed/dimpled, tumbled and embossed/dimpled, or an approximation of slate or flagstone.
Next up, you'll need to decide on color for your brick pavers. Earth tones are popular, but you may want to look first to the tones of your house, particularly the roof color and trim, and try to stay in the same family as these. You can also consider a contrasting color palette or a bold, vibrant statement color like red.
Finally, you'll need to decide how your brick pavers are laid on the patio. There are many options, ranging from straightforward staggered rectangular patterns to intricate geometric shapes that take on an almost modern art twist. Some popular styles you may hear mentioned are Random I, Random Ashlar, Runner and Herringbone.
One of the most popular design trends for patio landscaping is to emphasize visual diversity. So for example, if your patio pavers are a uniform geometric shape, you may want to consider curvy, flowing designs for your furniture or other patio installations, to add some eye-catching contrast. You might also think about using an array of planters for flowers or plants, as opposed to trying to match all of your patio landscaping.
Finally, let nature in. Consider planting shrubs or arranging potted flowers or plants directly adjacent to your patio, so the natural landscape feels like it's always within reach of your outdoor living space.
This driveway, walkway and garden area are all environmentally friendly.

Thought to be used to pave roads in ancient cultures, bricks have been popular for years. Today, many homeowners want brick patios installed on their property. Brick patios have a distinctive look that is unmatched by any other material. A brick patio is a great choice for homes that already have brick integrated into their exterior design. Continuing the same material will make the indoors and outdoors feel connected.
Brick patios have a timeless appeal that complements traditional architecture, yet they can also be adapted to suit more modern home styles. You can lay bricks to look traditional or get a very contemporary look going, says Margie Grace of Grace Design Associates in Santa Barbara, CA. To modernize brick, Kyle Ritchey of Milieu Design in Wheeling, IL creates oversized brick steppers with grass bands between them as opposed to a more traditional continuous surface.
Benefits of Brick Patios:
In the hands of a skilled mason a brick patio can be turned into a work of art. Whether your patio is laid over a bed of sand and gravel, or over a concrete slab, brick can be arranged in many unique patterns. Additionally, brick patios have a rich color that never fades.
Brick Patio IdeasA brick patio can be designed in just about any shape. Common shapes include squares, rectangles, circles and freeform curves. The more complicated the shape of your patio the more difficult the installation will be, making the process take more time and cost more money.
Depending on the shape of your patio and the brick pattern you select you can make your patio appear formal or casual. A formal brick patio has straight edges and a simple pattern such as the traditional running bond or herringbone. A casual brick patio has a freeform shape and a pattern such as basket weave.
Brick can be used in conjunction with other paving materials to create a unique patio. Brick looks especially nice as bands or borders around a concrete or stone patio. A popular combination is cut bluestone with a brick border.
Brick Patio CostMaterials for a brick patio are very affordable. Expect to pay $2-3 per square foot for the bricks. The real cost of a brick patio comes in paying for installation. Get a few estimates from local masonry contractors to ensure that you are receiving a fair price. Depending on the type of brick you select and the pattern used to lay it, the overall cost for materials and labor should fall between $12 and $25 per square foot.
Use this formula to get a rough estimate of what a mid-range brick patio will cost:
Laying a Brick PatioThere are two installation methods for a brick patio: dry laid and mortared. A dry laid patio is supported by a base of compacted gravel and sand, while a mortared patio is set on a concrete slab (compare these methods of brick installation). Keep in mind that for a patio, it is important that the bricks be laid level. If they are uneven, furniture will rock and wobble. A skilled brick layer will carefully check the level of the bricks as he lays them.

Quartz Countertops
Practically maintenance free, engineered quartz countertops are stain, acid, scratch, heat and impact resistant and, thanks to their non-porous surface, don't need to be sealed like natural stone countertops. Available in a wide range of colors and patterns, quartz typically ranks close in popularity to the perennial top choice: granite.
Still the top choice of most homeowners, traditional granite countertops offer a high-end look that adds to your kitchen's value while providing a durable prep surface. Because granite is a natural material, variation in the stone's pattern is common and, for most people, adds to its appeal but can make matching up slabs tricky. In most regions, the cost of granite and quartz are comparable but natural granite requires a bit more care than manufactured quartz to keep its good looks wipe up all stains quickly, especially oils, wine, acids and soda, and follow a regular sealing routine typically once a year.
By far the most budget-friendly option, laminate countertops are enjoing a resurgence in popularity thanks to new patterns that resemble natural stone, wood or even quartz at a fraction of the cost. Retro, mid-century looks like the ubiquitous boomerang and bright, saturated colors are other trendy choices to consider.
For a warm, cottage kitchen look, opt for butcher-block-style wood countertops. Both decorative and functional, this hardworking surface is ideal for food prep properly sealed, wood countertops are sanitary even for chopping meat. Unlike other budget-friendly options, like laminate, wood is highly heat-resistant so you don't have to worry about putting hot pots and pans on the surface. Anthony and John, the Cousins on Call, installed wraparound wood countertops in this cozy kitchen, but most homeowners choose to mix wood countertops with other surfaces like natural or engineered stone to provide a variety of prep surfaces.
The current darling of the design world, the gray-toned veining in Carrara or Calacatta marble isn't just aesthetically pleasing, it also helps to disguise wear and hide light stains. With timeless appeal, this stone gives any kitchen a decidedly high-end look and, although the cost is comparable to some granites, marble is porous so staining can be a problem. Regular sealing and special care with anything acidic to prevent etching will keep the creamy surface looking its best.
A twist on popular polished granite, honed granite gives a soft, matte finish instead of the traditional glossy look. Like polished granite, honed granite is just as resistant to scratching, chipping, cracking and heat, making it one of the most durable kitchen countertop options around.
Stainless steel lends a modern, industrial look to this stylish kitchen designed by Andreea Avram Rusu. The metal surface coordinates with any color and is one of the easiest countertop materials to clean just wipe off stains with a cloth and mild soap. The most appealing characteristic of this material is its ability to inhibit bacterial buildup, making it the most hygienic countertop available.
Aside from its sleek, streamlined appearance, glass countertops have many benefits. Glass can be cut into any shape and texture and the color options are endless. Although it's a pricier option, the popularity of glass countertops is on the rise thanks to its modern look. It's easy to keep clean and its non-porous surface makes it stain-resistant and one of the most hygienic countertop materials available. For durability, choose glass that's at least 1 inch thick and tempered.
The eco-friendly choice, recycled countertops come in a variety of sustainable materials, including concrete, glass, paper, composite and plastic. Usually a mix of pre- and post-consumer products, recycled countertops are available in a wide range of colors and textures. This beachy kitchen by Massucco Warner Miller features IceStone terrazzo which is composed of recycled glass, Portland cement and resin for a durable, low-maintenance surface.
A thick concrete countertop is the focal point in this modern kitchen designed by Rebekah Zaveloff. Concrete countertops are highly customizable you can choose any stain color and texture. Concrete mixes well with many different materials, such as glass, tile and marble to create a one-of-a-kind look. Aside from its eye-pleasing appearance, it is energy efficient when the temperature in your home rises, concrete captures the heat and releases it when the temperature cools down.
Highly stain and bacteria resistant, soapstone is a non-porous natural stone that's available in a range of gray tones from light to dark, all with subtle veining. Unlike other natural stones, it doesn't require yearly sealing but regular applications of mineral oil will help to disguise any surface scratches, add sheen and deepen the stone's color over time.
A creamy travertine countertop lends a classic Old World look to this neutral kitchen designed by Lisa Stanley. If you don't fill and seal its pitted surface, it can trap food and bacteria and absorb liquids, which makes it more high maintenance than other countertop surfaces. Despite its high maintenance, this material is one of the most aesthetically pleasing choices and brings a warm, inviting feel to any kitchen design style.
Tile countertops are a great choice if you want an inexpensive material that's easy to maintain. It's simple to coordinate with or mix and match with different design styles. Best of all, if you're handy, a tile kitchen countertop is a do-it-yourself project that you can tackle in a long weekend.
