    New Replacement Windows

    - June 22, 2016 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Replacement Windows Get Presidential Backing

Recently the President outlined an economic recovery plan that saves tax payers money, stimulates the economy, and helps the global environment all at the same time. A plan that truly is brilliant in its concept and design. The plan is fairly simple, and of all things requires homeowners to spend. Its an old government clich to tell us to spend our way to new economic stability, but this time the plan has very sound structure and merit beyond simple spending. It also requires little in the way of tax money other then the tax credits that will be afforded those that are eligible.

In the Presidents plan he recommends that home owners should spend money on home improvements such as new windows and doors, upgrading insulation and roofing materials, and replacing older inefficient heating systems and appliances. Now you may say that you have heard all this before, the government telling us to spend, spend, and spend. That doing so will save us all and bolster the economy. For the first time ever that our governments plan has recommended spending as a way to economic recovery the reasoning and areas involved actually make a sound case for the concept.

Here Id like to quote President Obama from a recent speech he gave at what I believe to be a Home Depot. And I quote In our nations building, our homes and our offices consume almost forty percent of the energy we use and contribute almost 40 percent of the carbon pollution that we produce, and everybody's talking about it right now in Copenhagen.

Homes built in the first half of the last century can use about fifty percent more energy than homes built today. And because most of our homes and offices arent energy efficient much of that energy just goes to waste, while costing our families and business money they cant afford to throw away.

The simple act of retrofitting these buildings to make them more energy efficient, installing new windows and doors, isolation, roofing, sealing leaks, modernizing heating and cooling equipment is one of the fastest, easiest and cheapest things we can do to put Americans back to work while saving money and reducing harmful emissions.

Recently I published an article Entitled Replacement Windows Make Big Difference in Home Values in which I outlined a very similar plan by which America could get back on track economically. I dont know, maybe the President read it, and seeing it as a sound Idea, decided to use it as the basis for his new proposal. If so, thats great, I dont mind at all.

Whats really important is that consumers, especially home owners take to heart what is contained both in the mentioned article and in the Presidents new economic consumer spending plan. I know that in the past, especially under W the idea of spending to recovery had little merit, other than to line political pockets. Mainly due to the types of spending that the public was asked to do.

But with the new approach, and justifications presented by the President for congress to implement new tax credits for home energy upgrade improvements, the tide of the economic recession I feel could be altered significantly if not turned around completely. Here are the key points.

The spending that is called for will keep the money spent at home, creating new jobs, saving energy and helping our environment. Its a fact that the materials used in most structural home improvements are produced within our own boarders. Clarification being that the raw materials used to produce the doors, windows, insulation, roofing materials and other home improvement products are produces right here in the United States. Not all of them, but the biggest majority.

So consuming those materials, and making our homes and buildings more energy efficient not only saves energy and cuts down on global emissions, it creates a growth in our national commerce, spawning new jobs and increasing cash flow across the board.

The plan isnt perfect, none ever are, but it makes a huge amount more sense than doing what W told everyone to do. Go shopping go to the mall, spend money, buy a new car. His spend to recovery plan seemed more appropriate as a way to go into debt faster plan then an economic recovery plan.

At least this spending to recovery plan has merit, where the other seemed more aimed at personal gratification, the Presidents new plan at least has sound ideals, founded in sound and provable economic principles.

So maybe it is time to think about replacement windows for your home. Dont forget about the $1500 Tax credit you can get by doing one or more of the outline energy upgrades to your home. It may not pay the complete cost, but every little bit helps. Im definitely not a big political activist, but I do think that The President got this one right.

Oh one last thing, in his speech, Mr. Obama said that he thought insulation was sexy stuff and what was sexy about it was saving money. Whether you agree that insulation is sexy or not, I think everyone would have to agree that saving money is a good thing.

When you remove your old window, you are removing only the sash and a few other related parts. You are not removing the entire window that was originally installed by the house builder. It is nearly impossible to remove every, single bit of material from the old window, so some of it remains attached to your house.

Even though the replacement window is not the same as the original window (also called a new construction window), it does function the same.

Remember, when you are shopping for replacement windows, you are shopping for both windows and installation companies, though they fall under the same umbrella.

If doing an Internet search, be sure to geo-target your searches. For instance, in Google, search for "replacement windows [your city]." A map of your community should appear, along with a list of local window companies. Any ads reading "Top 5/10/etc. Window Companies" should be avoided, as they are little better than scams. ServiceMagic does a decent job of connecting you to participating installers, but keep in mind their referrals are not recommendations as to the quality of work.

The replacement window industry is highly competitive, which can breed bad operators--all the way from the salesperson up to the company itself. Here are basics of buying replacement windows:

When you are thinking about installing new windows, the most common concern we hear is cost. Choose wisely and this will be one of the best investments you'll make in your home. You can cut your energy costs as well as improve your home's resale value. Replacement windows can pay for themselves if you do your homework.

A lot of factors contribute to the total cost, including the materials used, the purpose & style of the windows, the numbers of windows you are looking for, and more. If you want an idea of how much it will cost you to replace your windows, give us a call at (480) 422-1838 for immediate assistance, or fill out our quote form at the top left of this page and one of our window specialists will be happy to assist you. For more info, feel free to read on.

Living in Arizona, you already know windows are thermal holes. On average, a house may lose around 30% of its heating energy through its windows. Often times, the heat that is circulating through a home is lost by poor insulation and older, degraded windows and doors. Modern replacement windows are insulated and have specific energy ratings so the homeowner knows just how much insulation to expect out of their investment. The energy ratings take into account the window frame, panes of glass, and their ability to resist air leakage and prevent heat loss. When you buy energy efficient replacement windows, you immediately save money because the energy savings alone make your home more valuable.

So the answer is YES-replacement windows really do add value to your house. They will add both monetary value and non-monetary value such as improving the overall look and feeling of your house.

As the homeowner, we were very appreciative to the fact that was (is) very conscious of our budget, and was not a fan of going over the original quote. There were a few delays with the cabinets and mirror, and was extremely apologetic for this, however, we were not too bothered by the wait time. In the end, and his team have created a master bath beyond what we could have imagined. We appreciated their professionalism in all the aspects of this remodel; so much so, we have asked Atlas to refinish our water damaged basement. Architects & Building Designers in Secaucus, NJ – Houzz

    - June 19, 2016 by Mr HomeBuilder

How do I find the best Secaucus architect for my home design project? It is best to hire a home architect who will be involved in all phases of the design process, from the initial concept to the completed construction. The architect is often the first person you will hire for your project. If necessary, they might also help you select and hire New Jersey subcontractors, which can include the builders, engineers and landscaper. Interior architects are also involved in negotiating contracts for all involved participants. It is for these reasons that it is extremely important for you to have a good relationship with the Secaucus residential architect you hire. He or she can be the tie-breaking vote between you and the general contractor and can be your biggest advocate during the construction process. Different architecture firms in Secaucus, NJ provide different services, so the scope of the work can span from pre-design environmental impact studies to selecting furniture and finishes, depending on what your specific needs are. What sort of process can I expect from a residential architect? As far as the process goes, the architecture firm or individual that you choose will start with concept drawings and finish with construction drawings and documents. Some firms even design with 3D renderings and videos, but that should not be assumed. There should be plenty of meetings between you and your building designer until you have agreed upon a design that you are completely happy with. Always keep in mind that the designer will have building codes to follow, and likely pre-existing design limitations when dealing with a remodel, so while they might not be able to execute your exact ideas they always have your safety and aesthetics in mind. One of the most important duties of a residential architect is to serve as managers and supervise most aspects of construction, as well as facilitate communication between all other contractors, so you can expect them to be present throughout the entire building process to ensure everything is executed as planned.

It is very important to hire the right professional for the job. Remember that the most well-known or established designer might not provide the best architectural services for your needs. It all comes down to the individual project. Research and ask people whose work you like for recommendations. It's important to have somewhat of an idea of the style of house architecture that you prefer, as well as the amount you would like to spend. Residential architects in Secaucus, NJ are natural problem solvers. They will assess the entire situation and help you to solve your problems too. Don't settle for a single company too early. Call and interview a few. Make sure that you feel like your personalities will mesh well and that you like their professional perspective.

Find a home architect in Secaucus, NJ on Houzz. Narrow your search in the Professionals section of the website to Secaucus architects. You may also look through photos of New Jersey projects to find interior architects and building designers who have worked on a project similar to yours. You can find more architects & building designers in New York, Manhattan, Borough of Bronx, Newark and Jersey City.
