Since the advent of the sewer pipe, there has been need for the sewer cleaning equipment. Contrary to popular myth, the sanitary system is not self-sustaining. Sewage flows gradually slow over time, and, eventually, blockages begin to build up in the piping. If steps are not taken to clear these blockages, the entire pipe can fail exposing the surrounding population to unhealthy or even dangerous gasses and materials. It is the sewer cleaner's job to clear these blockages and ensure that their municipality remains sanitary.

With time, sewage structures have become more and more complex. Consequently, we now require increasingly powerful machines in order to keep them all running properly. The modern sewer system includes laterals, mains, manholes, catch basins, lift stations, and water treatment facilities all of which are critical to keeping the sewage system working.

The combination sewer cleaner is the pinnacle of sewer cleaning equipment. Utilizing a highly advanced combination of, controlled, high-pressured water and a vacuum capable of generating suctions strong enough to move 3500 cubic feet of material per minute (3500 CFM). By redirecting the flow of the water with carefully designed nozzles, the septic truck can force all the collected sludge down the pipe to a catch basin or lift station where he can then vacuum it all up into the debris body to be disposed of at a water treatment facility. I am saddened to update TXPlumberCPE.com that Bert Ward had a heart attack and passed away on 01/13/2015. He is survived by his wife, Susie; sons, Brad and Kevin; his wonderful little grandson; brother, Robert; and other family. A celebration/memorial will be held soon, this page can be updated to reflect that time and location, when it has become available.

Bertis Ray WARD 1949 2015

Bertis Ray Ward, 65, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 in his hometown of Buda, Texas.

Bert was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, as well as a devoted educator and great friend. He was well known for always being available to lend a helping hand and quality advice. Berts passions included fishing, camping and simply being around the lake with family and friends. If you knew Bert, you know he got a lot of satisfaction from working too. He always made himself available for his boys socially, professionally or extracurricular. Bert served his country in Vietnam and returned to devote his professional life to the plumbing and pipefitting trade. He was a reliable employee to many private contractors before retiring from the City of Austin as an Inspector. Aside from a full time career, Bert devoted his nights and many weekends to the education of others as a Coordinator and Distinguished Instructor of Local Union 286 as well as being a long time Mason. Bert was also a long time member of the Capital Rod and Gun Club on Lake Travis where his friendships and contributions will last forever.

Berts greatest joy in life was his grandson, Waylon, Little Man. Bert was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Dee Ward and father, Horace Ray Ward. He is survived by his wife, Susie and son, Kevin of Buda, son, Brad of Spicewood, brother, Robert and Cam Ward of Buda, sisters, Vickie Rhodes of Lampasas, Beverly and John Closson of San Marcos, Cathy Rochow of Dallas, Sandra Ward of Buda, as well as nieces Alicia, Natalie, Deanna, Brettany, Stephanie, Caitlin and nephew Jonathon, numerous other relatives, and a host of friends.

Bert embodied mentorship; he is gone, but will never be forgotten. The outpour of thoughts and prayers has been almost overwhelming, but is a true testament to the person he was and the depth to which he impacted so many people.

A Celebration of Berts Life will be held from Noon to 3:00 P.M., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Painted Horse Pavilion, 1750 S. FM 1626 in Buda, Texas.
