"In the South and across the country people do a lot of camping, fishing, nighttime tailgating and backyard activities," said an inventor from Camden, Ala. This product illuminates outdoor lighting while displaying a favorite sports team, race-car driver, sorority, fraternity, college football team, favorite basketball team or other institutes logo. Picture Talladega Superspeedway with tens of thousands of campers, the Gulf Coast, RV parks across America or Yellowstone National Park: people hanging strings of lights across the awnings of their campers when all they need is my invention."
He then created a prototype of the patent-pending SPORTS LIGHT, which provides convenient, ambient illumination in outdoor areas. It also improves visibility, displays a favorite logo and doesn't have exposed wires. In addition, it traps insects. Versatile, safe and easy to use, the light is ideal for camping, fishing, tailgating, backyard cookouts/parties and other nighttime activities or events.

MADAM Tan Sok Meng had been looking for help to take care of her 89-year-old mother on weekends.
Her mother is cared for at the Hong Kah North Day Care Centre from Mondays to Fridays.
But on some weekends, Madam Tan, 52, needs some free time to run errands and do some of her chores. However, since a fall a few years ago, her mother cannot be left alone.
Her mother, Madam Yeow Ah Thong, who is frail and suffers from kidney failure, high blood pressure and anaemia, is at risk of falling again, doctors have warned.
The stockbroker's frantic hunt for help on weekends ended when Hong Kah North Day Care Centre joined seven other centres to offer weekend respite care last July.
Like Madam Tan, more than 70 families have found great relief with the launch of this service.
Two more centres will start to offer weekend care by April. Together, the 10 centres, which are scattered around the island, will be able to care for 240 seniors of varying disabilities each weekend.
Currently, many slots are still available for those who need occasional weekend care, but those providing the service expect this to change when more come to know about the service.
This service complements another one under which 17 nursing homes offer care for a few days or weeks.
That scheme, launched in May 2013, has helped the families of more than 330 seniors, who spent an average of 23 days in the nursing homes.

Everyone wants their property to look good. For a home owner, there is a lot of pride in knowing that your home and lawn looks beautiful and well-kept. If you own a business, the appearance of your building and property is the first impression that your customers get; you need to make sure the image you portray is a professional one. However landscaping and lawn work can be time-consuming, and it definitely includes some hard work. Even if you wanted to do the work, you may not have the time available. Thats where we come in! We can handle just about any task related to your lawn and landscaping. In fact, one of the things our customers love is that we are a one-stop shop some of our services include:
Tree removal Call us when the unexpected happens a storm blows a tree down, or an old tree is in danger of falling due to damage or just old age. This is a procedure that requires skills, experience and the right equipment.
Overseeding After a few years, grass does not grow as quickly and vibrantly as it once did. Thats where overseeding comes in it allows for new growth that is thicker, and the grass also becomes more resistant to disease.
Fence repair and installation If you have a fence that has some problem areas, or if you need a replacement fence or a brand new fence, we will be happy to help with that.
Lawn leveling Most lawns are not perfectly level. This may become more obvious over time. If you have some ridges or valleys, we can get that fixed.
Shrub care Regular care of your shrubs and other landscaped plants means they will not only be healthy, but they will also make your home look great.
Stump grinding This is the last step in a tree removal. We can grind a stump down to below ground level, and with a section of sod, it will look like there was never a tree there.
Landscape maintenance Why spend your weekend working on your landscaping? Leave it to the pros you can spend your time relaxing, and knowing that your property will look wonderful.
Landscape flowers We are very familiar with flowers used in landscaping we can work with you on the various varieties so that you get the ones that work best for your location.

The Calloway County Sheriffs Office reported that it handled several wrecks this past weekend. The first came on Friday night with a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 641 North and Charlie Miller Road.
CCSO said a vehicle driven by Howard Wyatt was westbound on Charlie Miller, while another vehicle driven by Lenora Robertson was southbound on 641.
The CCSO reported witnesses said Wyatts vehicle was attempting to cross 641 when it was struck by Robertsons vehicle.
Robertson and two passengers in her vehicle were taken to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of reported injuries.
Another accident happened Saturday afternoon at the intersection of KY Hwy. 80 and Van Cleave Road. CCSO said Jodi Stone of Murray was southbound on Van Cleave and had stopped at 80, but did not see a vehicle driven by Connie Birdsong coming eastbound on 80. Stone then drove through the intersection, colliding with Birdsongs vehicle.
A third vehicle driven by Sarah Parker was northbound on Van Cleave and stopped at the 80 intersection and received damage from debris, it was reported.
The CCSO said Birdsong and a passenger from her vehicle received injuries and were taken to MCCH.
Two more wrecks followed on Sunday. CCSO said the first of these was reported just after 3 p.m., on KY Hwy. 121 North.
CCSO said Lawrence Briggs of Mayfield was eastbound when the passenger-side tires of his vehicle dropped off of the roadway, then struck a mailbox, a driveway culvert and a gate before entering a residential lawn and striking another mailbox and a small tree before coming to rest on the lawn.
The CCSO said Briggs and a passenger were taken to MCCH to be treated for injuries.

FORT MOHAVE Gardeners new to the area may be wondering if they should be watering their palm trees after last weeks cold snap.
Yes, says Star Nursery plant guru and store manager Isidro Ramirez.
Theres a schedule to follow for the trees, Ramirez said. Right now, because it is winter, watering enough to soak the root ball once a week is plenty. Once the temperature climbs to 80 degrees, gardeners should increase watering to three times a week.
While much of the country is still struggling through ice and snow, it is the middle of gardening season in the Tri-state.
Gardening season in the Southwest is roughly October through March, said Ramirez. Right now were getting our shipments of plants for spring and summer color.
Ramirez earned his nickname of plant guru after working with Star Nursery for 10 years.
I listened to the real gurus and tried to learn, he said. I also learned a lot by doing by growing plants in a garden.
Star Nursery, which has locations in Nevada, Utah and Arizona, opened the Bullhead City store last August at 6325 Highway 95. The nursery offers a broad selection of citrus and landscape trees, shrubs, vines, decorative grasses, succulents and cactus, and other garden plants, as well as landscaping supplies from decorative rock to timbers.
Many people new to the area dont realize that given the right care, they can grow almost anything here, Ramirez said. Many familiar garden plants will require afternoon shade in the summer and protection from the cold in the winter, but otherwise will do quite well.
The season for many near-universal gardening staples such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and melons and flowering plants such as vinca, cyclamen, snapdragons and geraniums may be winding down, but possibly less familiar climate-adapted plants are poised to fill local yards with color.

Dalhousie Universitys agricultural campus in Bible Hill is changing the academic landscape for Atlantic Canadian post-secondary schools.
Well known for its architecture program at the main campus in Halifax, Dalhousie is launching an undergraduate program in landscape architecture in its faculty of agriculture.
This program is about making connections between the landscape contracting industry and landscape architecture, Tracey MacKenzie, an environmental sciences professor, said in a news release.
It will focus on designing functional spaces, using an interdisciplinary approach that includes horticultural and engineering skills and applying environmental knowledge to create site solutions, MacKenzie said.
This program will encourage students to be in tune with natural ecosystems and apply a creative mindset to tackle various environmental and design challenges.
The program will be the first of its kind in Atlantic Canada and only the third in the entire country.
The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects explains that the field combines art and science in the creation and preservation of built environments, taking a holistic approach that recognizes that the needs and activities of people can be complementary parts of larger environmental services.
The new Dalhousie program will include areas of study that explore site and ecosystem analysis, engage in collaborative design exercises, apply concepts of sustainability and efficiency, create construction details and specifications, and enhance the environment both esthetically and ecologically. Students will receive training to develop technical skills in design, communication, installation and management.
The program is a direct response to the need for skills and techniques to support a growing profession.
As we face increasingly urgent issues such as climate change, habitat loss, pressures on agricultural land, the necessity of creating better urban environments and other similar concerns, landscape architects are the professionals that are trained to create sensitive science-based solutions through the planning and design of our built and natural environments, said Gordon Smith of the Atlantic Provinces Association of Landscape Architects.
