Savage cuts of 1.1billion have left hundreds of thousands of vulnerable pensioners without help washing, dressing and eating, a damning report reveals today.
Vital services such as meals on wheels and home visits have been hit particularly badly since the ConDems came to power in 2010, Age UK found.
The charitys Caroline Abrahams described the studys findings as devastating and said: Hundreds of thousands of older people who need social care are being left high and dry.
Age UK found the number of over-65s receiving care fell nearly 30% from 1,230,625 under Labour to 849,280 now.
The amount of day care places plunged 67% from 178,700 to 59,125 and numbers getting meals on wheels fell 63.7% from 81,460 to 29,569.
Half of the one million elderly people who struggled to wash or bathe and a third of the 350,000 who had difficulty getting to the toilet got no help.
30%
Fall in number of people over 65 receiving social care since 2005/6
Of the 570,000 people who struggled to get out of bed on their own, a third do not receive any support.
Two-thirds of the 250,000 people who had trouble feeding themselves were also left in the lurch.

Nancy Simmons Starrs is president and founder ofApartment Detectives, a D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia apartment search service.
During the course of my work day, many clients request that I search in the District and in Maryland or D.C. and Virginia to give them an idea of which area they like the best and which area might be best value for their rent dollars spent.
It is lucky that in the DMV area, we have a good variety of walkable areas to choose from. I thought I would compare a one-bedroom apartment in downtown D.C. close to the Mount Vernon Metro station with a one- bedroom unit in downtown Bethesda. These are two very similar properties with similar amenities of similar size.
Bainbridge Bethesda
Bainbridge Bethesda is a newer property in downtown Bethesda that currently has one-bedroom units that are 711 square feet from $1,940 to $2,030 plus utilities.
Pets are allowed with some restrictions.
The property has a 24-hour concierge, a fitness center, a roof top deck with grills and an outdoor pool. There is an interactive cyber cafe with a separate conference center. Reserved garage parking is available for $175 monthly.
The apartments have granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances in the kitchens. Wood-style flooring is in the kitchen, living and dining rooms. A washer and dryer are in the apartment.

"(At every start of a new year, people resort to coming up with all sorts of resolutions they would like to accomplish. Some of these promises range from becoming fit and healthy, to mastering financial strategies. So in line with this, Sun.Star Cebu Live! dedicates every Wednesday of January to presenting a series of how-to stories. Enjoy!)"
ONE of the more popular items that often finds itself as a New Years resolution is getting the house tidied up.
And unlike a few others, it does actually get done! Partly thanks to a superstition of how its supposed to symbolize getting rid of bad luck. In any case, the challenge lies in how to keep this goal until the end of the yearand no, asking your housekeeper to do it doesnt count.
Here are a few tips, paired with insights by budding interior decorator Erika Joan Ong, on how to do it rightthat is, create a home thats cleverly organized and clutter-free, and how to keep it that way for the next 11 months.
Theres certainly no room for messor excusesthis 2015.
Dont be a packrat
See those paper bags you left lying on the floor because you havent decided if youre throwing them or keeping them because they might be handy someday? Well, someday is too vague of a word, and the next thing you know you just piled up an eyesore in the middle of your bedroom. Give away or donate things you do not need or see yourself using anymore, Erika commentsor sell them perhaps. A clever trick of achieving this is through the Four Box Method come cleaning day. Get three boxes; label each one with storage, give/sell and put away; place them next to the trash bin (the fourth box), and simply toss whatever item to its respective box. Keep only the essential!
