Texas plumber threatened over jihadis using his old truck

    - December 18, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

A Texas plumber is getting death threats after his old truck still bearing his name was tweeted on the front line by Islamic jihadists in Syria.

Mark Oberholtzers former Ford F-250 pickup truck, which now carries an anti-aircraft gun, was used in a propaganda stunt by Supporters of the Religion Front (Jabhat Ansar al-Deen) in the Syrian civil war.

Subsequently, his company, Mark-1 Plumbing the name emblazoned on the pickup truck in Syria has been bombarded with hate calls at its office in Texas City, Texas.

A few of the people are really ugly, he told theGalveston Daily News.People think you are aiding and abetting terrorists. We have a secretary here, shes scared to death. We all have families. We dont want no problems.

I just want it to go away, to tell you the truth, he said.

Oberholtzer has run the company for 32 years and said he took the truck to an AutoNation dealership three years ago. He believed that the company would remove the decal from the vehicle before sale.

They were supposed to have done it and it looks like they didnt do it, Oberholtzer told the Galveston Daily News. How it ended up in Syria, Ill never know.

Oberholtzer told CBS News that he had hired a lawyer to make Twitter remove the posting.

A spokesman for AutoNation told KHOU 11 News that the truck went to auction. It has probably had different owners since the auction before ending up in the hands of Islamic terrorists.

Jabhat Ansar al-Din wants to impose the rule of Sharia law but has maintained it is independent from ISIS and al Qaeda.

TEXAS TERROR TRUCK Plumber's car resurfaces in Syria with terrorists' guns

A Texas plumber has been receiving threats after a photo emerged of Islamic extremists in Syria firing a high-powered gun from the bed of his old pickup, which still bears his company's logo on the door.

An extremist group, Ansar al-Deen Front, posted the photo of its fighters aboard the Ford F-250 sometime on Monday. That prompted a flood of calls to Mark Oberholtzer, who owns Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City, and has nothing to do with Syria's bloody civil war.

"How it ended up in Syria, I'll never know," Oberholtzer told The Galveston Daily News.

Oberholtzer told the paper that he traded in the truck three years ago. The Houston dealership he turned it over to, AutoNation, told KHOU.com that the truck was auctioned and was likely traded from owner to owner over the course of three years.

Oberholtzer was surprised the auto dealership sold the truck with the companys name still on the door.

"They [AutoNation] were supposed to have done it [covered the decals] and it looks like they didn't do it," he said.

AutoNation did not immediately return a phone call from FoxNews.com.

Oberholtzer has owned the plumbing business for 32 years and said he has received "a thousand" calls and faxes about the photo.

Islamic State uses Texas plumber's old truck in Syrian terror campaign

A Texas plumbers old truck has come back to haunt him after appearing in the Islamic State groups Twitter feed.

Mark Oberholtzer of Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City has faced a barrage of phone calls since the truck he sold three years ago appeared online with its Mark-1 Plumbing decal intact. An anti-aircraft gun fixed firmly in the bed of the truck blasts away in the image.

Mr. Oberholtzer told The Galveston Daily on Wednesday that he took the truck to an AutoNation dealership three years under the assumption that the decal would be removed after it was sold.

They were supposed to have done it, and it looks like they didnt do it, Mr. Oberholtzer told the newspaper. How it ended up in Syria, Ill never know.

The plumber said that he just wants people to know that his business, which he has run for 32 years, has nothing to do with the radical Sunni terror groups efforts to create an Islamic caliphate in the heart of the Middle East.

I just want it to go away, to tell you the truth, Mr. Oberholtzer told the newspaper.

Fox News reached out to the Houston AutoNation dealership on Wednesday but did not hear back by the time it published a piece on Mr. Oberholtzers ordeal. The dealership told another local news station that the truck was auctioned three years ago and was likely traded by its new owner.

TEXAS CITY, Texas (AP) A Texas plumber is getting some unwanted attention after one of his old company vehicles appeared in a photo posted on an Islamic militant group's social media account.

Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City has been flooded with calls after the picture appeared on Twitter, The Galveston County Daily News reported (http://bit.ly/1x095Mv ).

The picture was posted online by the Islamic extremist group Ansar al-Deen Front, according to a CBS News report.

The photo shows a black pickup truck with a Mark-1 Plumbing decal on the door and an anti-aircraft gun in the bed.

Mark Oberholtzer, who has owned the company for 32 years, said he traded that truck at an AutoNation dealership three years ago and has no idea how it ended up in Syria. He usually takes the decals off his vehicles when he sells them but he left it on this vehicle, believing AutoNation would remove it.

"They were supposed to have done it and it looks like they didn't do it," Oberholtzer said. "How it ended up in Syria, I'll never know."

Oberholtzer said his business has received a thousand calls and faxes this week about the photo.

"A few of the people are really ugly," he said.

Oberholtzer said he just wanted people to know the vehicle was no longer his.

"I just want it to go away, to tell you the truth," he said.
