The decks have been cleared for the bifurcation of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) and having ironed out differences about the division of financials and assets, a draft has been prepared for approval by the powers-that-be.
Telangana State Road Transport Corporation will be up and running very soon, going by the indications at a press conference here on Monday, held to launch a novel, e-ticket booking facility on smart phone by the Managing Director, J. Purnachandra Rao. It is understood that by and large the bifurcation of the corporation is through and its only a matter of days when it would be announced officially.
The launch of the e-ticket booking facility on smart phones is targeted to increase the number of seats booked in advance by at least 30 per cent. In view of the States bifurcation, passengers can now book tickets through two portals http://www.apsrtconline.in and http://www.tsrtcbus.in.
Currently, of the 1.41 lakh seats on 3,668 services offered daily for advance/current reservation, about 45,000 are booked in advance through various channels. They include 29 per cent through online passenger reservation system, 37 per cent through the ATBs (Authorised Ticket Booking Agents), 31 per cent through physical booking at counters in bus stations and 3 per cent through portals like Abhibus, MakeMyTrip, BusIndia and the like.
The facility now being offered enables the passengers to reserve tickets in advance through smart phones. Passengers can visit http://www.apsrtconline.in or http://www.tsrtcbus.in and book their tickets through Book Tickets tab. Mr. Purnachandra Rao said that while there were an estimated 10 crore desktop and notebook personal computers in use across the country, there were a whopping 20 crore smart phones being used by people.
With people relying on hand-held devices, it was in the fitness that the RTC facilitate reservation through mobile devices, be they smart phones or tablets, he said. This is expected to lead to an increase in users which in turn will prompt a rise in e-ticket booking and thus a better occupancy ratio can be achieved.

Related: Christmas at Biltmore
ASHEVILLE, N.C. Touring Biltmore's interior festooned with miles of garlands, around 30,000 lights, 150 candles, and hundreds of live poinsettias and other plants is definitely cause enough to make a day trip to the estate sometime through the holidays.
But there's much more to be seen and experienced throughout the estate during the Christmas season, including separately ticketed candlelight tours of America's largest private home in the evenings.
We've also found in the many shops on the estate, including at the winery, a great place to pickup hostess gifts, stocking stuffers and Christmas presents large and small.
Biltmore's many dining options include several holiday-themed menus. Our favorite is the candlelight dinner buffet at the Deerpark Restaurant.
Back to the basics:
* Inside Biltmore House this season you will find 60 decorated Christmas trees, including the 34-foot Fraser fir in the Banquet hall.
* 135,000 LED and mini lights are found around the estate. 45,000 lights illuminate the Front Lawn tree, and "up" lighting accents the poplar trees lining the front lawn. Three hundred luminaries line the driveway and Esplanade in front of Biltmore House.

Pataskala City Council on Nov. 10 began an in-depth review of the 2015 budget.
Finance Director James Nicholson said the city is expected to collect $16.5 million in total revenue for 2015, which is lower than in 2014 because the city is expected to receive fewer loans and grants.
According to Nicholson's budget draft, the 7-percent decrease over the 2014 revenue is due to "the one-time receipt of $2.81 million in intergovernmental grants and loans that are not included in 2015."
City Councilman Mike Fox raised the most objections to the proposed figures. He said the city needs to put more money into streets and the police fund than into parks improvements.
"First and foremost, I believe our highest priority is police and roads," Fox said via email after the meeting. "Although I believe parks are important, I do not believe they are more important than police and roads.
"In the next five years, the city is projected to spend ($500,000) on the parks. We are borrowing funds to complete road projects. We are putting infrastructure improvements that are safety issues on hold. I do not believe a walking path is more important than a road."
During the meeting, Fox said: "We can't keep taking (money) away from the high-priority things in the city."
Nicholson's proposed 2015 budget includes $160,000 for improvements to parks.
The money would pay for revitalizing the Conway Trail in Thomas J. Evans Foundation Park, estimated to cost up to $74,000; link the current septic system in Foundation Park to the city's sewer system, estimated at $40,000; and install an asphalt trail and gardens with access in Karr Park, estimated to cost $12,710.

A construction worker allegedly stabbed his co-worker to death in a church in Sampaloc, Manila yesterday.
Police identified the victim as Mario Gorpedo, 27, stay-in at Flashbuilt Construction Inc. and of Northern Samar.
Case officer PO3 Marlon San Pedro disclosed that the incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. at the construction site of Grace Gospel Church on Mangga Ave. corner Buenos Aires St. Initial investigation said that the suspect, Jonard Caberte, 35, of Negros Occidental, stabbed the victim while he was sleeping. A witness, co-worker Anito Galias, saw the suspect fleeing.
Galias saw Gorpedo gasping for breath on his wooden bed. The victim was taken to the Ospital ng Sampaloc where he died.
Police are eyeing revenge as the motive of the killing.
(The reason for the killing) may be out of revenge, because last Friday, the victim, along with his unknown companion, ganged up the suspects brother (who is also their co-worker), San Pedro said. (Rachel Joyce E. Burce)

THE property developer behind the multi-million pound conversion of a 189-year-old church into luxury studio apartments has opened its doors to the public.
Trinity Court on the site of the former Holy Trinity Church next to Bolton railway station was officially launched by Bolton Mayor, Cllr Martin Donaghy.
The Grade Two Listed building within a building now has 82 apartments divided into three sections The Church, The Knave and The Gatehouse. Twenty-one of the flats have already been taken.
The apartments are being let by Primo Property Management, the sister company of Bolton property developers Forshaw Land and Property Group founded by Lyndon Forshaw in 2008 and run with director brothers Glenn and Jonathan.
The Forshaw company was born out of Forshaw Demolition, founded in 1921 by their grandfather Walter Forshaw and run by their father Harry, who rang bells at the church as a youngster.
The full refurbishment has been carried out by Haslingden firm Colbre Projects Ltd and has taken 16 months to complete.
Project leader was construction director Bob Misell. He said: If the building had been left much longer, it would have started to collapse. Our initial objective was to prevent the shell of the church from deteriorating while the plans for the development were drawn up.
It has been reroofed and the parapet walls have been rebuilt. More than 50,000 concrete blocks have been used in what has been a major structural project.
Great lengths have been gone to by the developer and ourselves to preserve the character of the building and there are some beautiful features which remain from the original church.
Holy Trinity Church was one of the so-called Waterloo Churches built with a government fund set up in 1818 as a token of the nations thanks for victory in the famous battle against Napoleon. It cost 13,824 - 1 million in todays money to build and had been empty since 1992.
