Updated: Tuesday, 09 Sep 2014 22:09 | Comments Willie Mullins and Paul Townend teamed up for a double at Galway
Alelchi Inois stretched his winning run to four races by securing Grade Three honours at Galway.
The on-song six-year-old, trained by Willie Mullins, did not need to be overly extended to take the Deacy Gilligan Ballybrit Novice Chase over two miles and a furlong.
Alelchi Inois was always close to the pace initiated by Enjoy Responsibly, who still held an appreciable advantage three fences from home.
But a solid leap from the 2-5 favourite at the final fence completely changed the complexion of the race as Paul Townend's partner bounded along the lengthy home straight to win convincingly.
Definite Ruby stayed on for second but was never really a factor.
Alelchi Inois is now unbeaten in four starts since his focus turned to chasing.
Townend said: "He is a joy to ride over fences. He couldn't have done it any better. He is a summer-ground horse."
That gave Mullins and Townend a double as the pair had earlier landed the Easyfix Rubber Products Novice Hurdle with Most Peculiar (9-10fav).
The winner was chased home by Draco when scoring at the festival here and it was Aidan O'Brien's charge that gave him most to worry about again.

(WARSAW) - Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk is a pro-European free marketeer who has earned the reputation of being an unflappable leader able to turn even the most difficult situations to his advantage.
With political roots in Poland's anti-communist Solidarity trade union, the football-mad historian set to be the EU's next president started out as an underground journalist.
Under communism, he also put his liberal ideals to work running a modest industrial painting business. Although private enterprise was rare, small ventures were tolerated by the ruling Communist Party.
After a bloodless end to communist rule was negotiated in Poland in 1989, Tusk and a group of friends in his Baltic Sea hometown of Gdansk founded the Liberal Democratic Congress, pushing for sweeping privatisation of the state-run economy.
It won 37 of the 460 seats in parliament in the 1991 general election, only to lose them two years later. It then merged with the larger centrist Freedom Union.
Tusk led a breakaway faction in 2001 and formed the Civic Platform (PO).
While his 2005 presidential bid failed, the PO took power after a 2007 snap election and Tusk was propelled to a second consecutive term as prime minister in the 2011 general election.
He has the distinction of steering Poland though the global financial crisis as the only EU state to maintain economic growth, although critics slam him for breaking promises on tax reform and cutting bureaucracy.
He also steadied the country in 2010 when an air crash in Russia wiped out a large chunk of the Polish establishment. Poland's then president Lech Kaczynski was killed as well as the country's top military brass, central bank chief and scores of lawmakers and other senior state figures.

HURON Work will get under way soon on a new concessions building for Kunhart Softball Complex after the City Commission on Monday approved a bid of $136,370.
Picek Construction of Huron won the contract. City workers will do some of the work to reduce the project cost and get closer to budget.
Construction will continue until bad weather sets in and its hoped the project can be completed in the spring prior to softball season.
Meanwhile, a request from Carroll and Arlene Tschetter, 636 Nicollet Ave. S.W., dealt with a small area of a new driveway apron of their neighbors that, with new curb, gutter and asphalt paving completed this summer, is now located on the Tschetters property.
The concrete in question is a two-by-four-foot, triangular section that encroaches on the Tschetter property.
Commissioner Doug Kludt said he sees no compelling reason for the city to remove that section, because a number of similar driveway approach flairs are located elsewhere in the city.
I do not think its something we should spend money on, he said.
Tschetter attorney Beverly Katz said the city created the problem by allowing that wing apron to be poured like that rather than squaring off the driveway approach. The Tschetters are also worried about title problems when they go to sell their property.
Its just not fair to the Tschetters to allow the neighbor to use their property, she said.
But the driveway apron is located within the public right of way, Mayor Paul Aylward said.

It took some time, but demolition has come to abandoned properties around the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. corridor.
Last weekend, the first buildings were torn down with money Kinston received with a Community Development Block Grant in 2012. The city acquired $100,000 with the CDBG and matched the grant with an extra $25,000.
Kinston Planning Director Adam Short said there are currently 13 properties in the process of being demolished.
This is a good first step, but we have a lot to do in terms of demolition, Short said. Hopefully, this is a step in the right direction and will open the door for redevelopment by removing the impediments.
Short said six properties have bids on them with the remaining ones up for auction in the coming weeks. Short also said there could be more homes demolished in the future with a program amendment. The Kinston City Council approved additional properties to be removed in an August meeting.
In the next month or two, we should see the remaining seven properties coming down, Short said. With the homes were trying to add through the program amendment, it could be a little longer because theres an administrative process for the grant we have to go through to add to the project, but it wont slow down anything with the other demolition.
Rick Bostic, a local construction and demolition organization, was hired for a bid on a property on Blount Street. Anthony Gargano, a driver with the company, said the crew had started working on it Monday and plans to have it finished before the week is over.
We should probably have it done by (today), Gargano said. It depends on weather and the debris. If it rains, it wont prevent us from working, but it will slow down production when we take the debris to the landfill. Kinston City Manager Tony Sears said the demolition was high on the agenda and was glad to see it being executed.
This has been a top priority of city council for quite some time, Sears said. Were fortunate to have received some CDBG money to make this happen, and its just good to be able to use federal funds here in Kinston. To the citizens, this is an opportunity to see a return on their federal tax dollars.
Kinston City Councilman Sammy Aiken said while he liked the progress, there is still plenty to accomplish.

Demolition starts on St Martins Voluntary Library
Demolition of the remaining section of St Martins Voluntary Library starts today.
The library, located on the corner of Wilsons Road and Wades Avenue, was badly damaged in the earthquakes with the majority of it demolished under a Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) Section 38 notice.
Christchurch City Council approved demolition of the remaining third of the facility last year due to damage and differential settlement.
Last week the Council approved funding for a replacement community centre on the site of the former library as part of its $40 million facilities repair and rebuild programme.
Community Facilities Rebuild Unit Manager Darren Moses says the new community centre will incorporate the voluntary library.
The voluntary library was highly valued by the St Martins and Opawa communities, so being able to integrate this service into the new centre is fantastic.
The demolition has been authorised to proceed and this is scheduled to take three weeks. We will be recycling material from the demolition wherever possible.

The former Carlton House at Eighth and Main streets in Stroudsburg may start coming down at the end of this month.
The project developer, Dein Properties, had hoped to begin demolition over the summer on the building, which was badly damaged by a December 2009 fire.
Dein faced some delays, however, because power lines had to be moved before demolition could begin.
In July, part of Eighth Street was closed for several days while a contractor for PPL Electric Utilities moved the lines away from the building.
Because of that delay, the contractor scheduled to demolish the building picked up other projects, further delaying work on the Carlton House, said George Strunk, general manager of Dein Properties.
Strunk estimates the demolition itself could take up to a month to complete.
A flat, vacant lot will be left once the building is removed.
