Diane Keaton rented interior designer/real estate developer Dan Scottis East Hampton home over the Fourth of July weekend.
Keaton stayed with her family at the Further Lane property owned by Scotti, who has also built and designed homes for celebrities including Molly Sims in the Hamptons and in the city.
Were told Keaton who has a passion for architecture and design gave Scotti a copy of her book House, in which she showcases her appreciation for edgier home design, as a gift. She included a note congratulating him and describing the house as a masterpiece.
She continued, What a dream come true. My one wish!!? I would have loved to include your beautiful home in [the book].
Keaton, who took her family fishing over the weekend, is forever connected to the Hamptons as a result of her lead role opposite Jack Nicholson in that iconic beach house in the movie Somethings Gotta Give.
Keaton, Michael Douglas and Rob Reiner were all in the Hamptons for a screening of their new film, And So It Goes.

House of The Whale, by Scott Bluedorn.
By Mara Certic
A house is a walled structure with a roof and a floor and a number of other features. A home, however, is typically defined in a more abstract manner: where the heart is, where one starts from or, according to Emily Dickinson, where thou art. This ambiguity and flexibility is mirrored in A Different Kind of Home/ Show on view at Dodds & Eder in Sag Harbor.
Curator Kathy Zeiger, who is also the founder and director of ArtWalk Hamptons, was inspired to put on the exhibition after seeing House of the Whale, an ink drawing by local artist Scott Bluedorn.
I just thought thats so interesting, she said of the drawing. There are a lot of home shows that go on in the Hamptons. Im going to do a different kind of home show. And so the project was born.
I have always been inspired by nautical things, Mr. Bluedorn said in an interview on Monday. The initial inspiration for the entire series was photographs that I took on a trip to Nova Scotia last year, and a lot of the old fishing houses, which are similar to the ones we have, said the artist, who grew up in East Hampton.
His intricate drawings show a hybridization of nature and architecture. Ive always been very involved with detail in my drawings; Ive always used texture, he said. Thats why shingles are such a big part of the series.
Ms. Zeiger was determined to make this not just your typical kind of home show, but still wanted a homey and cozy element, which is why she chose to include textiles artist Casey Dalene. Ms. Dalene, a native of North Carolina who has lived full-time in East Hampton for the past decade, has decorated the front nook of the Dodds & Eder showroom for the exhibition. I thought she would be great as home sweet home, Ms. Zeiger said.
I want this space to feel really warm and inviting and thats why I chose to use drapery frames, said Ms. Dalene who also has decorated the area with hand-painted pillows and six acrylic paintings on paper. Ms. Dalene loves showing the artists hand in the work, she said, explaining her use of obvious paintbrush strokes.

The likely culprit in Saturday's fire Le Roy that destroyed the home of Greg and David Luetticke-Archbell is electrical.
Whether it was an electric device that first caught on fire or wiring in a wall hasn't been determined.
There is no evidence of any deliberate action that caused the fire.
Jim Bouton, a coordinator and investigator with Genesee County Office of Emergency Management, discussed the investigator's findings with The Batavian this morning.
"On the report it will say the cause is undetermined," Bouton said. "The primary principle is electrical."
The fire started in the garage, Bouton said, not on the porch as initially reported.
Also, the explosion during the fire was caused by backdraft, which is caused by the rapid reintroduction of oxygen into an enclosed area where oxygen has been depleted by fire.
There was lots of fuel available for a fire -- what firefighters call "fire load" -- big wood beams and all of the accoutrements of a modern lifestyle.
Bouton said these days people have a lot more polyester, plastic and other flammable materials around the house, which is just fuel for flames.
In the Luetticke-Archbell garage there was a motorbike, snowmobile and woodchipper, all with gasoline in the tanks, not to mention the fiberglass of the snowmobile to add fuel to the fire.

Aman Sharma, ET Bureau Jul 8, 2014, 04.00AM IST
(The Union home ministry)
NEW DELHI: The Union home ministry has asked state governments to "target" top leaders of CPI (Maoist), seeking to step up its intended offensive against Left-wing extremism amid concern that not a single extremist has been neutralised since Narendra Modi-led NDA came to power in May.
"The state police has been told to target the top leaders of CPI (Maoist) by constituting dedicated teams comprising personnel drawn from state police, Central Armed Police Forces and central as well as state intelligence agencies," a senior officer of Central Reserve Police Force told ET on condition of anonymity.
These teams will work only on apprehending the top leadership of CPI (Maoist), the officer said, adding that the state governments had also been told to substantially increase the reward on the heads of the leaders.
ET has also learnt that on June 27 Home Minister Rajnath Singh, at a highlevel review meeting with heads of police forces of the states and CAPFs, made a pitch for "political commitment" from the state governments for "eliminating Naxalism" from the country, describing it as the "biggest national security challenge". At least two senior CAPF officials aware of the deliberations at the meeting told ET that the home ministry expressed concern on the "overwhelmingly skewed casualty ratio" in favour of the Maoists vis-a-vis security forces and questioned why no Naxal cadre had been neutralised since the new government took charge on May 26 despite 100 battalions (1.2 lakh men) of CAPFs being involved in anti-Maoist operations.
Till May 26, Maoists killed 57 security personnel and 101 civilians while suffering only 33 casualties in return, the ministry pointed out at the meeting. The ministry has laid out a 29-point action plan against Naxals, an official said. The action plan includes making "full use of media social, electronic and print to demystify" the local populace from the adverse propaganda undertaken by CPI (Maoist) and "create a public perception" in favour of the government, another senior CAPF official said.
"The home ministry has asked for a legal crackdown against NGOs which act as front organisations of Maoists and floated a concept of 'smart counter-insurgent" by introspection and improvement in the tactical skills of security forces," the officer said. Home Secretary Anil Goswami said Naxals had rejected the call of the government to abjure violence and come for talks, even as they retained their "core strength" in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha and were capable of resorting to "spectacular strikes", as per the CAPF official.
