ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) On Monday we recognize the federal veterans day holiday. For Mike Sweeney, veterans day is a day of reflection and house calls.

And for them coming back into the job market is going to be extremely difficult unless they have some very good skillsets. said Master Plumber Mike Sweeney.

Thats why Sweeney took up a trade. Thirty eight years later hes a succesful small business owner who offers encouragement and advice to the next generation of veterans.

I encourage them to go seek the health care if youve got post tramatic stress disorder, go in get some treatment for it. Sit in some of the classes that they have for PTSD, I did and learn from it. said Mike Sweeney.

THis veteran will be busy in the near future building an addition for a veterans facility. Hell be using the skills he learned after returning from Vietnam. On Monday, like every veterans day, hell stop and reflect and then go back to work.
