OUT & ABOUT: Hiring has begun for new Chick-fil-A

Hiring has begun for Miramar Beachs first Chick-fil-A restaurant, which is tentatively scheduled to open April 23.

The restaurant, located at 52 Scenic Gulf Drive, is looking to hire up to 80 employees. A hiring trailer has been set up outside construction site where people can pick up applications and where interviews are being conducted.

Chick-fil-A will be hiring workers for the dining area, front counter, drive through, kitchen and prep areas. The hiring trailer will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays until the restaurant opens. Applications are also available in a mailbox if the applicant is picking one up outside those hours.

--- The 2014 Destin Charity Wine Auction was ranked as the fourth highest grossing wine charity in the nation last year by Wine Spectator Magazine.

Last years wine auction, which was the 10th anniversary for the event, donated more than $2 mil-lion to 12 area charities serving children in need. That represents a 57 percent increase from their 2013 total of $1.3 million.

The top three grossing wine auctions last year were the Sonoma Harvest Wine Auction, Naples Win-ter Wine Festival and Auction Napa Valley.

This years Destin Charity Wine Auction will be held April 24 and 25 and will feature approxi-mately 200 silent and live offerings.
