Window Genie has reached an agreement with 3M Company to provide a residential window film solution as part of the companys lauded Envision line of films. The partnership will provide Window Genie, a franchise chain with over 200 units that provides window cleaning and window tinting to homes in more than 24 states, an opportunity to service over 125,000 residential customers with window film that reduces fading, heat and glare and can help lower utility bills.
Beginning April 1, Window Genie franchisees will offer the residential Envision window film options that include clear view, glare control, sun block and shade offerings. The film options range from 70%-40% for total solar energy rejection (TSER), a quality which stands to save homeowners significantly on their utility bills.
Window Genies partnership with 3M is the result of two years of discussions between the companies.
We approached 3M two years ago actively seeking the partnership, said Ken Fisk, Vice President of Operations for Window Genie. We believe Window Genies reputation as an established residential home service business put us in a great position to illustrate to 3M the value of forming a partnership with us. Through two years of conversations pertaining to the opportunity 3M had to penetrate the residential market through a partnership with Window Genie, a company with over 125,000 residential customers in our database, both parties agreed it was mutually beneficial to move forward.
The partnership is mutually beneficial, said Fisk. While Window Genie is able to further customer satisfaction by providing a highly recognizable brand of top quality window film, 3M is able to successfully penetrate the residential market and build brand awareness for their line of residential film among Window Genies customers that span over 200 markets in 24 states.
For years 3Ms line of Envision Wrap Films has been an industry favorite, earning commendations for its high performance, sustainable materials and comprehensive warranty.
Founded in 1994 by Rik Nonelle, Window Genie recently appeared on Inc. Magazines 2014 Inc. 5000 list and on Entrepreneur Magazines list of top 100 home-based franchises. The partnership stands to benefit Window Genie franchisees every bit as it will benefit customers, said Fisk.
We look forward to improved training and support by providing one brand of film to our franchise partners, said Fisk. We believe it will help streamline systems and enable growth with a more successful method of coaching throughout the entire Window Genie system.
About Window Genie Founded in 1994 by Richard Nonelle, Cincinnati-based Window Genie is a mobile cleaning services company focused primarily on its big three services: window cleaning, window tinting and pressure washing. The company also offers, among many other services, dryer vent cleaning, chandelier cleaning and gutter cleaning and re-securing. Window Genie services primarily residential customers, as well as small offices and commercial spaces. The company currently has 77 franchise owners operating more than 200 units in 24 states, and expects to grow to 100 franchisees by the end of 2015 and over 300 within five years. Target markets include California, New York and Florida. For more information, visit http://www.windowgeniefranchise.com.

Eastern Washington coach Jim Hayford already had told the story many times Monday by the time I got to him, but you wouldnt know it from the genuine wonder still to be heard in his voice.
Hayford spoke of intently watching the NCAA tournament selection show for 30 years, of painstakingly making up his own bracket as a youngster so he could fill in the names. How he had to write fast, because in the early days, there was no Internet to double-check the teams once they were read off.
When the name Eastern Washington, the team Im coaching, came up there, it was a surreal moment, Hayford said.
You want to know something else that is surreal? That the two teams from the state of Washington to make the NCAA tournament this year are separated by a mere 18 miles, an unlikely hoops hotbed in eastern Washington.
Seattle might churn out Division I players, but right now, with the Huskies in a rut and Seattle University still trying to make its mark, Spokane County is where its at.
The rise of Gonzaga, of course, is an old story, but no less notable building a basketball powerhouse out of thin air in Spokane and then sustaining it for 17 consecutive NCAA bids.
The Zags story line has shifted over time, from the lovable little upstarts to a team that is perceived as having underachieved in the postseason. Current coach Mark Few has never made a regional final, let alone a Final Four; this year, the Zags have another highly touted squad that will bring a No. 2 seeding into its South Regional game Friday against North Dakota State at KeyArena.
I feel bad for Mark at times, said his good friend, Ray Giacoletti. People always talk about the Final Four, but thats about being fortunate, getting on a run at the right time, other teams getting beat. The landscape of 17 in a row, sustaining something like that, is the most remarkable story in college basketball.
And Eastern, located just a few freeway stops away on I-90, would love to approach that kind of continuity. After racking up a school-record 26 wins and knocking off Montana in the Big Sky final, the Eagles drew a No. 13 seed and will open the tournament Thursday in Portland against fourth-seeded Georgetown.

Press Release -- Although our lawns are still dormant this month, you can begin to plan your strategy to have an attractive, healthy lawn this summer. Because the grass is still dormant, most lawns look relatively bad now, so dont judge yours too harshly at this point.
You should go ahead and identify areas where grass has died out completely and only bare soil remains. These areas will have to be repaired in April or May. Otherwise, wait until late April or May to evaluate your lawn and make final decisions on any repair work that may be needed.
Lawn thinning can be caused by several common problems, including insects and diseases, heavy traffic, poor soil fertility and too much shade. Poor maintenance, such as improper mowing and watering, also can be a factor.
One or more of these problems may be affecting your lawn, and the cause may stretch back well into the past.
Winter weather does not stop the lush growth of winter weeds in lawns. Most annual cool-season weeds will not cause significant damage to a healthy lawn, so control is generally not critical.
I would, however, recommend that you mow your lawn now and occasionally hereafter to keep any cool-season weeds from flowering and setting seed. This will reduce annual cool-season weed problems next year.
You may apply a lawn weed killer now if you choose to. Control with herbicides is more important for cool-season perennial weeds, such as dollarweed and clover.
A number of commercial lawn weed killers are available to control a wide variety of weeds. Make sure you choose one that is labeled safe to use on the type of grass you have.
You should know what kind of weeds are growing in your lawn you might take some to the nursery for identification so you can check the herbicide label to make sure the product will control them. Follow label directions carefully to avoid damaging the turf or landscape plants. Two applications generally provide the best control.
Whatever weed killer you choose, do not use a weed and feed. It is too early now to fertilize your lawn, and it will still be too early in March when lawns begin to green up. Research shows that turfgrass does better if you wait until early to mid-April to make the first application of fertilizer. If you have a weed problem that you need to deal with now, use a weed killer without fertilizer in it.

After several Yankees groused over New York City FC potentially tearing up their field, and concerns arose this past week about the already questionable conditions at Yankee Stadium, at least for Sundays home debut, those worries proved to be much ado about nothing.
NYCFC passed its first home test with a 2-0 win over New England, and the Yankee Stadium pitch passed its test with flying colors. No, it wasnt lush and green the way the Bombers would expect center field to be by midseason, but considering it was frozen a week ago and sod was still being put down midweek, it was an amazing turnaround.
Its the winter right now, so its just going to get better and better. If we keep winning on it, Im not going to have any problems with it, laughed Mix Diskerud.
Coach Jason Kreis said: This was a tremendous challenge that was placed in front of the groundskeepers here at Yankee Stadium in order to get the field prepared after all the very difficult weather weve had this winter. And for me it was fantastic. The fact they were able to put that together for us on such a short time, Im really pleased.

And its to understand their worries, with all the griping the Bombers had done, Mark Teixeira saying, Itll definitely cause an issue. Its terrible for a field. Grass, dirt, everything gets messed up.
But it sure didnt mess up David Villa, who had a goal and an assist and a dominant performance.
The pitch was fine today, Villa said. You have to bear in mind the cold weather weve had to endure the last month, and the team thats been working on it worked extremely hard. We should thank them for it and hopefully in the next few months with nicer weather the pitch will be in even better condition. As players we have to adapt on a weekly basis to the conditions. Id like to thank the team that worked on the pitch, because it was in a very good shape today.
Granted, there are 16 more MLS home dates, barring playoffs. But at least the first came off without a hitch. Sporting director Claudio Reyna admitting he breathed a sigh of relief.
Yes, I walked it on Friday and all I can say is credit to the Yankees ground crew, Reyna said. They did an amazing job. The coaches were pleased with it, the players were happy with it; amazing work by the Yankee grounds crew.

Due to the growing number of families over the years, the need to build a hall to place one's ancestors and to pray for them as a sign of respect became urgent.
The Chinese always pay attention to filial piety and respect their elders.
According to tradition, an ancestral hall that houses an altar brings more protection, prosperity and, most importantly, makes families more "productive," meaning more members. Ancestral worship is one of the most important customs in Chinese tradition.
The clan sought the feng shui master's advice for an auspicious spot to build the ancestral hall; however, that excellent site belonged to the Kan family. With good dragon and water elements there, this site was sure to bring kind and auspicious energy for generations.
Back then people would do just about anything to grab an auspicious feng shui site. The Liu family wanted to chase the Kans out of the hot feng shui spot. Almost every night they disturbed the place with scary and ghostly events as though it was being haunted by a spirit.
The Kan family fell into their trap and overnight they migrated to the next village by the river. The Liu family took the land and built their ancestral hall. The Liu clan was one of the five largest clans in Hong Kong.
But the story does not end there.
Soon after the hall was built, the Liu clan was plagued by many bad incide
According to the Kan side, one of the founders of the family passed away during a "haunted" event. After several bad incidents, the Liu family was overcome with guilt and the clan decided to offer prayers to the Kan who passed away.
