Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage plans new Boulder store at Olive Garden site - December 12, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage is eyeing a new location in Boulder.

Developer Equity Ventures Commercial Development and the Lakewood-based grocer submitted a site plan to build a 16,600-square-foot store in place of the former Olive Garden restaurant at 2685 Pearl St., according to documents filed with Boulder's Planning Department.

The proposed organic grocery would be almost twice as big as Natural Grocers' existing location at 2355 30th St., where the grocer has operated for 16 years. The site plan documents do not indicate whether the proposed store would be a relocation for the 30th Street site, a homey market that sits a couple hundred feet from Whole Foods' comparably gigantic 79,000-square-foot store.

The proposed store is about 0.4 miles west of Natural Grocers' existing location, which is owned by Realty Income Corp., according to Boulder County property records.

Officials for Natural Grocers declined to comment Tuesday, and officials for Equity Ventures Commercial Development and Realty Income Corp. could not be reached.

As she loaded bags of groceries in front of Natural Grocers' sole Boulder store on Tuesday, Boulder resident and loyal customer Heather Baines said she would welcome a larger location.

"This store is cozy," she said. "If we get to spread out a little bit more, then I'm all for that."

Baines, 40, said her family moved to Boulder three years ago from Evergreen, where Natural Grocers operated a newer location.

"This one is due for an update," she said.

As part of the proposal submitted to the city, the existing 9,300-square-foot former Olive Garden would be razed and replaced by a 16,600-square-foot building that would sit closer to Pearl Street. The new building would have a first floor totaling 15,500 square feet and a 1,100-square-foot mezzanine for office space.

Destination Builders Inc., Blue Marlin Realty Group partner on Destin Oaks project - December 5, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Blue Marlin Realty Group is proud to feature the newest townhome community, Destin Oaks, coming to Destin, Fla., in 2015. The premier townhome project is the brainchild of Blue Marlins Broker Associate and Destination Builders Inc., President John Cunningham.

Having both built and sold real estate in and around Destin, Cunningham has lived through the cyclical nature of the market.

We have seen it all. From watching the market slow to an all-time low, to now having a strong demand in real estate and new construction in our area. Its very encouraging to me not only as a Realtor, but also as a builder, Cunningham explained.

As a company, Destination Builders Inc. saw a serious need for a community like Destin Oaks in the area. There is a lack of new construction at this price point and Cunningham and his team are excited to be a part of developing such.

There is nothing new available in Destin, under $300,000 right now. We think the demand is there for buyers at this price point to be able to get into the city of Destin, he said.

Although Destination Builders had looked at purchasing the land in the past, Cunningham is no stranger to the 5-plus acre property located on Airport Road. Formerly home to the Destin Racquet Club, Cunninghams mother managed the Racquet Club for a little more than 10 years while he was growing up in the local area.

The project will have 60 premium townhomes available with three different, three bedroom plans with the options of an office, garage, or game room, ranging in size from 2,000 to 2,300 square feet. Each townhome includes an open main living level with large kitchen, spacious bedrooms, and access to the communitys amenities including clubhouse, pool and common areas. The community is also conveniently located near area shopping, golf and attractions. The townhomes base price will begin in the high $200ks.

Destination Builders recently broke ground and began the communitys initial infrastructure. After receiving appropriate permitting from the city, Destin Oaks is anticipated to have units available to move in, Spring of 2015. Those interested in learning more or setting up a viewing during construction can contact John Cunningham directly at 850-246-5646.

We are proud to have John as a part of the Blue Marlin Realty Group team. He is a great builder, a fantastic realtor and most importantly an incredible person and will be very successful because of that. says Blue Marlin Realty Group Co-Broker, Johnathan Hughes.

Destination Builders Inc. specializes in a number of services including residential and commercial new construction, customs homes, remodels, renovations, expansions, and build-outs. Whether it's a dream house or corporate real estate, Destination Builders Inc. has the skill, expertise and talent to exceed your expectations. By working with award-winning teams of architects, land developers, designers, and supporting staff, you can rest assured that your project is in good hands with Destination Builders.

K+BB Announces Winners of its 2014 Product Innovator Awards - November 26, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

K+BB is excited to announce the winners of its coveted Product Innovator Awards for 2014. The five judges had the challenging task of choosing the lucky winners out of 140+ innovative kitchen and bath product submissions.

Awards went to both the Kitchen Product of the Year and Bath Product of the Year, and four products were given an Honorable Mention. For the second year in a row, we have included a Judges Picks category for the additional products the judges felt were worthy enough for recognition.

View the gallery of winners here.

Kitchen Product of the Year: Dekton by Cosentino

Judges love the technology behind and the planet-friendly nature of this great ultra-compact surface option, which is composed of recycled glass, porcelain and quartz. It can be used for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications including flooring, cladding, staircases, exterior facades, kitchen countertops, bathrooms and pool surrounds.

Bathroom Product of the Year: Kohlers Touchless Toilet Technology

The judges are impressed that this modern technology is now available to the residential market and that there is a retrofit option offered. Homeowners also have the option to upgrade an existing toilet to a no-touch flush with an easy-to-install retrofit kit; they can remove the existing flush lever and replace it with a color-matched hole cover if they so desire.

Honorable Mentions - Discovery IQ 48 Dual-Fuel Range by Dacor This Discovery Range is the first to feature Dacors iQ Cooking App and the functionality of an Android tablet. The Remote iQ Cooking App allows home chefs to control the range via their smartphone or tablet from any connected location.

    - Trough 4819 by Native Trails Judges chose the Trough 4819, which measures 48-in. x 19-in. x 5-in., because it is a good response to current trends, it is functional and beautiful for many applications, and they applaud the company for good green practices.

    - Blue Chilled and Sparkling by GROHE This sleek, easy-to-use, instant filtered water system impressed judges because it saves 1,200 plastic bottles of water per household of four each year, making it better for the environment and the health of the homeowners.

Bruce Carlsmith named to Woodside's architecture board - November 26, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

The newest member of Woodside's Architecture and Site Review Board is resident Bruce Carlsmith, the organizer of the town's recent soapbox derbies and an active volunteer for the Woodside Elementary School.

The Town Council approved his appointment on a 5-2 vote on Nov. 18, with council members Anne Kasten and Peter Mason dissenting.

Mr. Carlsmith will serve the remainder of Rick Anderson's four-year term. Mr. Anderson left the seven-member board in mid-October. Mr. Carlsmith's term expires in February 2015, when he would be up for reappointment by the council.

The ASRB's mission is a tough one: preserve Woodside's "rural" character and natural beauty while still allowing residents the freedom to design homes to match their wealth and ambitions.

Mr. Carlsmith is self-employed. According to his application to join the ASRB, he buys, remodels and manages single-family homes and apartments. Most of his work was done in Sacramento and Marin County, he said.

Along with managing the soapbox derbies, his local volunteer work includes the design and construction of a garden building for the school that includes a potting area, kitchen and greenhouse platform on which he assembled a greenhouse. He also built 14 raised-bed garden boxes at the school.

The whole council, including Mr. Mason and Ms. Kasten, made a standing offer to Mr. Carlsmith to be available for questions and advice. "I look forward to having him tell us how the experience is and how it's going for him when he comes back for reappointment," Ms. Kasten told the Almanac.

Miracle Method Announces Holiday Promotional Pricing to Alleviate the Stress of Home Improvements - November 24, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) November 24, 2014

The holiday season is one of the most excitingand stressfultimes of the year. Homeowners often undertake home improvement projects, hoping to leave a positive, lasting impression on family and friends, especially in high-traffic areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. Traditional renovations, however, can be time-consuming, expensive, and stressful. Miracle Method, the nations leading provider of surface refinishing products and services for tile and laminate surfaces, offers promotional pricing nationwide to help alleviate some of that stress.

With the holidays just around the corner, Miracle Method is offering quick, cost-effective solutions to homeowners who seek more affordable, convenient alternatives to traditional remodeling and replacement. Miracle Method can completely refinish damaged, dated or worn kitchen countertops, bathtubs and tile to look brand-new and guest-ready in just 2 to 3 days. And most transformations cost about 75% less than traditional remodels, explains Chuck Pistor, President of Miracle Method, so homeowners can concentrate on whats really important during the holiday season.

The surface refinishing process has opened up a multitude of remodeling options that were once available only to those with clear schedules and extensive budgets. For example, homeowners can easily change outdated bathroom colors and update laminate kitchen countertops with a completely new finish. Treating existing fixtures and surfaces also extends their lives and keeps those materials out of landfills. The end result is a durable, eco-friendly, like-new look and feel that is more practical and convenient than renovation.

While Miracle Methods seasonal sale is nationwide, each franchisee has the autonomy to offer the promotional pricing that best meets the needs of its market. We understand the importance of quick turnaround, affordability, convenience, and quality, says Pistor, especially during the holidays. With more than a million satisfied customers, Miracle Method Surface Refinishing has been relieving the stress of the holiday season for homeowners since 1979.

To schedule your in-home estimate, visit Miracle Method.com or call 888-271-7690. With more than 135 offices across the US and Canada, Miracle Method can help transform nearly any home anywhere, for a stress-free holiday season.
