Huntsville, AL (PRWEB) May 20, 2014
The Child Development Center of Huntsville in Alabama was temporarily shut down. According to a report from waff.com, it was because of mold. In response to it, My Cleaning Products recommended the use of Molderizer for a fast and safe way to kill mold and to avoid the same incident.
It was last fall when the center was tested for mold, said the report posted on May 13, 2014. And as it detailed, there were three types of the spores found in the building.
In addition to the fungus, a structural problem that could cause the same mold issue was also discovered in the facility, relayed the report. Because of that, it shared that it could take nine months to get rid of mold and fix the problem in the building before the daycare could reopen.
Below is an excerpt from the post Mold Found in Alabama Daycare by My Cleaning Products.
A daycare center in Alabama has stopped operating, at least for now. The reason is the mold in the building. It was closed down earlier this week to give way to the mold removal process.
Some mold types are toxic and others are not. However, all of them are a threat to health, said My Cleaning Products. The reason, it cited, is that even the non-toxic types could trigger allergies and asthma attack.
Because of the health risks the fungus presents, MCP asserted it is essential to stay alert of mold signs. That way, it stated, mold could be removed early and its worse effects on health and even on structure and finances could be avoided.
Nevertheless, the company stated that one would need the help of a mold remover to get the elimination done promptly. And out of all the mold removal sprays, Molderizer is the best help anyone could get, it asserted.
MCP pointed out that Molderizer is made with organic ingredients. That, it cited, makes it the best mold remover as it makes the process not just effective but also safe. Moreover, it said that if used with Safe Shield, also an organic mold prevention spray, it offers a complete remediation process.

Chico >> The Chico City Council will be presented with three options Tuesday on how to address mold and water intrusion at Fire Station 5, with costs ranging from $150,000 to $300,000.
In November, the council allocated $25,000 for investigation and mold remediation, the extent of which was larger than originally anticipated and led to additional work and costs, including identification of leaks, interior destructive testing, cavity testing, additional remediation and the need for major repairs, Public Works Director Ruben Martinez reports. The recommended repairs should address some or all of the causes of water intrusion, depending on which option the council decides.
Fire Station 5 has experienced water infiltration since the facility was built in 1997 because the construction design included a freestanding brick veneer that needed to drain moisture buildup away from its surface to weep holes, causing recurring water leaks, Martinez reports.
"The recent remediation and test work indicates a need to repair some, now-well-known, rudimentary construction problems," his staff report states.
The roof is likely at the end of its useful life but may not be currently contributing to the leaks, and the contractors are willing to put a 15-year warranty on the restored roof. The roof flashing is contributing to the leaks, as is the weep system to release moisture from behind the brick veneer, and the windows will continue to leak due to the weep system and poor detailing.
If cause of the water infiltration to the interior including the roof are not corrected before the interior repairs, the mold will return if the affected areas become saturated again, the staff report states.
The first option for repair which is what is recommended by Public Works Director Ruben Martinez is to authorize $70,000 for restoration of the roof, restoration of the interior and restoration of critical brick veneer, and to direct staff to return to council with a supplemental appropriation for next year as needed. The total cost would be $220,000, after using $150,000 public works redirected from its existing facilities repair program.
The second option is to authorize $150,000 for the replacement of the entirety of the roof and repair all construction issues causing leaks to the interior, including windows, gutters and brick veneer cladding issues. The total cost would be $300,000.

HINSDALE Hinsdale Middle School has faced its share of scrutiny recently regarding facility issues that included mold remediation and major roof repairs.
At the April 28 District 181 Board of Education meeting, Hinsdale Middle School teacher Kelly Sledz, who is also representing teachers on the districts facilities committee, presented a survey to the board containing feedback from staff and administrators on an array of facility topics.
The survey asked participants to state how much they agreed or disagreed with each question or statement.
1. To what extent do you feel your building has site or facility issues?
Results: 100 percent of responders found issues with Hinsdale Middle School facilities.
By comparison, 4 percent of Clarendon Hills Middle School staff felt its school had significant or very significant issues, while 100 percent of the Hinsdale Middle School staff felt there were significant or very significant issues at the school.
2. Student learning is enhanced by the school
Results: 80 percent of those surveyed either disagreed or strongly disagreed with that statement.
Rather than being able to do the things we know are best for kids, we are often times driven by the limited space we have to do it in, Sledz said while reading some of the comments staff submitted with the survey statement.
Other responses from faculty stated that the school has insufficient number of classrooms, narrow halls and classroom space surrounded by noisy cafeteria, according to Sledz.
