Solar installations see plumber charged for deception - September 2, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

Topics: crime, moose plumbing, park hill electrical, solar installations, wade morley

A TWEED plumber has been charged with dishonestly obtaining financial gain by deception after illegally installing 105 solar hot water systems.

Court documents reveal Wade Francis Morley, of Mooses Plumbing, submitted Queensland Government solar hot water rebate forms in the name of a contracted electrical company, Park Hill Electrical, without their consent.

Police allege between October 20, 2011, and July 23, 2012, Morley forged the signature of Park Hill Electrical's owner Tim Stenner.

Court documents stated that Morley did not hold an electrical contractor's licence and that prohibited him from conducting paid electrical work " or submitting a certificate of testing and compliance/safety", which is a condition of the solar rebate form.

Court documents stated that Morley did not hold an electrical contractor's licence and that prohibited him from conducting paid electrical work "or submitting a certificate of testing and compliance/safety", which is a condition of the solar rebate form.

Morley allegedly provided the details of Park Hill Electrical and forged the signature of Mr Stenner 105 times, without his consent, to validate the applications.

Each customer who applied for the rebate received a $600 rebate from the Queensland Government.

The electrical work at the 105 properties would have cost between $110-$130 depending on the location, meaning the minimum received amount by Moose Plumbing for the illegal works was $11,550.

Court documents stated Park Hill Electrical went broke as a result of Morley's actions and were now "uninsurable" and suffering a severe downturn in work resulting from bad publicity.

Drowning Family Dog Saved by Plumber - September 2, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

Edgefield, SC (PRWEB) August 27, 2013

For Sherry Northgard, a call to the local Mr. Rooter Plumbing company not only solved her plumbing issue, but saved her beloved four-legged friend, Dawnie.

While I was diagnosing Mrs. Northgards plumbing issue, I could tell that she was distracted and a little upset, stated Doug Baker, the plumbing technician sent by Mr. Rooter of Edgefield.

The concerned plumber found out that Mrs. Northgards elderly Chow, Dawnie, was blind, hard of hearing and normally kept close-at-hand. Upon hearing the distress in her voice, Baker began helping Northgard search the property for her pooch.

We got out back and looked out to where the lake met her yard and Mrs. Northgard immediately started to panic, claimed Baker.

Dawnie had stumbled into the lake and was disoriented, attempting to swim back to shore, which only served to usher the dog further out. The two began whistling and calling out from the beach, and Dawnie started swimming back inland. However, halfway home, she again became disoriented.

Dawnie did a 180 and started to swim further into the lake. The further out she got, the more tired she became and began sinking. Mrs. Northgard immediately became frantic, so I did what anyone else would have done I jumped in to save the dog.

Baker swam out to the middle of the lake, successfully bringing Dawnie back to shore, where an ecstatic pet owner was reunited with her exhausted pooch.

I have always known that Doug is not only a fantastic plumber, but also a kindhearted Christian who will go above and beyond to help his fellow manor dog, stated Vince Russo, manager of Mr. Rooter of CSRA.

As for Northgard, she is a cheerleader for Baker and Mr. Rooter. It is a breath of fresh air to meet someone who cares about his job and the customers he serves. I will call Doug and Mr. Rooter whenever I have any sort of plumbing or dog problem.

Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) August 30, 2013

Carters My Plumber is an affiliate member of the World Plumbing Council. The Carters attended an annual General Council meeting in Ann Arbor, Michigan for the World Plumbing Council (WPC). The meeting discussed WPC Bylaws and Strategic Plans. The Carters joined representatives from five different countries at the WPC meeting. Germany, Canada, China, Australia and the United States each had representatives in attendance. The Carters are advocates of improving the lives of others in underdeveloped countries through the education of plumbing practices. The Carters were in Haiti last year where they installed the plumbing for a village orphanage. The WPC was established in 1990 and has representatives and industry organization members from over 27 different countries. The next meeting will be held in New Delhi, India.

    The World Plumbing Council:

The Chairman of the WPC is Russ Chaney, who lead the August 2013 General Meeting. The WPC's objectives are to promote the plumbing industrys role in improving public health through the provision and protection of safe water and sanitation. They promote the plumbing industrys role in safeguarding the environment through proper management, care, reuse, and conservation of natural resources. They are promoting plumbing education worldwide.

    Plumbing is Important:

Good plumbing can and does make a difference in so many aspects of our day to day lives. While most people in developed countries tend to take the provision of wholesome drinking water and sanitation services for granted, it was not too long ago that general health in these countries improved dramatically when such services were first effectively provided.

The picture in developing countries, however, is quite different.

    1. One billion people do not have access to safe water

    2. Six billion People do not have access to acceptable sanitation

6000 children die every day from water related diseases

Webster plumber found guilty of larceny - August 23, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

WORCESTER A Webster plumbing and heating contractor who operated under business names "Dan the Clog Man," "The Clog Specialist," Dan the Heating Man," and "DW Plumbing & Heating," has been found guilty of larceny in connection with work done in the Worcester area, according to authorities.

Daniel Watterson, 43, was found guilty Wednesday by Judge Richard T. Tucker after a seven-day bench trial in Worcester Superior Court of larceny of more than $250 of a victim older than 60 and larceny of more than $250 by false pretenses, Attorney General Martha Coakley announced Friday.

Mr. Watterson overbilled customers for deficient plumbing and heating services, according to authorities. He would overcharge customers, sometimes claiming the bill was a flat rate for the job, and charged a customer's credit card without consent.

"The defendant exploited his position as licensed plumber and oil burner technician to steal from vulnerable consumers by fraudulently billing them and charging them without their consent, leaving them with an undue financial burden," Ms. Coakley said in a news release.

A Worcester County grand jury returned indictments against Mr. Watterson on Dec. 17, 2010. and he was arraigned on Jan. 19, 2011 in Worcester Superior Court.

He pleaded not guilty to charges of violating the Massachusetts Clean Air Act for his alleged failure to file notices of asbestos removal with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, improper removal of asbestos-containing material, and improper disposal of asbestos-containing materials, child endangerment (two counts), larceny of more than $250 by false pretenses (three counts), larceny of more than $250 of a victim over 60, larceny or less than $250 of a victim over 60, and larceny of more than $250. He was released on personal recognizance.

Mr. Watterson was found guilty on Wednesday on the charges of larceny over $250 and larceny over $250 by false pretenses. Sentencing will be at a later date. He is scheduled to be back in court to face the remaining charges on Sept. 10.
