Plumber convicted of conspiring in Deerfield home invasion that targeted family friend and former customer - August 3, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

By JAMES A. KIMBLE Union Leader Correspondent

BRENTWOOD A plumber who plotted a home invasion targeting a Deerfield veterinarian that he once did work for was convicted on Friday afternoon on all charges that he conspired with two partners to loot a safe with $20,000 in cash, silver bars and firearms.

A jury convicted Christopher Martin, 40, of Danbury of conspiracy to commit burglary and being an accomplice to a Manchester man who carried out the violent break-in by donning a ski mask and beating the homeowner over the head with a handgun.

The jury reached its verdict just before 2:30 p.m. on Friday in Rockingham County Superior Court. It marked the third and final conviction in the case.

Dr. Arthur Cutter, the homeowner who suffered nearly 50 staples along his head from his injuries, watched from the front row of the court gallery as jurors were individually polled on their decision.

Deputy County Attorney Tom Reid said during closing arguments that Martin served as the nexus between Cutter and his masked attacker, who knew exactly where a bedroom safe was located after being given a hand drawn map of the house.

Who is this man in the mask? He has no idea, Reid said of Cutter. He is seriously injured. He is forced to take things out of the safe and load his own car.

Martin became familiar with Cutters home and the valuables he kept in it after working jobs at his home. The plan for the home invasion went awry when the attacker, Jacob Palo, 37, of Manchester lifted up his ski mask to take a cigarette break.

Thats when Cutter fled to his basement and escaped through a back door into the woods.

Palo is serving a 20 to 40 year prison sentence on a litany of charges for beating Cutter in his home and setting off a county-wide manhunt that ended after he crashed his second stolen getaway car into an Epping police cruiser in Fremont.

Plumber accused of assaulting woman - August 2, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

TAHLEQUAH Prosecutors have filed misdemeanor assault and battery charges against a local Kuk Sool Won instructor and businessman who allegedly grabbed a womans hand and tried to show her a martial-arts technique.

Tahlequah Officer Reed Felts filed a report in early July after responding to the Tahlequah City Hospital and speaking with Holli Powers about the incident.

Powers told Felts she was working at a NeoHealth facility on June 28. Powers said plumber Bobby Joe Moon, 61, was at the facility working on a toilet that day.

At the same time, a custodian was buffing floors in the facility. Powers said Moon approached her and asked why she wasnt cleaning the floors.

Powers told Moon it wasnt her job, and Moon allegedly told her he could make her do it.

Powers said Moon pulled her right hand out of her pocket and twisted her arm back.

Moon then allegedly asked Powers what she would do at that point to escape, and Powers told him she would typically kick somebody in such a situation.

According to Felts, Powers felt frightened at that point, and Moon released her. She then ran to the back of the building to escape him.

Felts said he contacted the custodian, but the custodian did not witness the alleged assault.

Felts spoke with Moon on July 2. Moon said he was joking when he asked the woman why she wasnt doing the work the custodian was doing.

4FastPlumber Announces 24 Hour On Demand Emergency Services - August 1, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

Woodbridge, VA (PRWEB) July 31, 2013

One of the worst nightmares that homeowners have is that their plumbing will become damaged in the middle of the night. They walk downstairs into the basement and discover that there is an inch of water on the floor. They flush the toilet and water begins to leak from around the base. They go to turn on the sprinkler system overnight and they find the yard has been flooded. These are the types of problems that can cause serious issues for the home if they are not fixed right away, but it is not always easy to find a plumber after hours. A Virginia plumber with years of experience handling these situations is 4FastPlumber.

4FastPlumber is a family owned company that has decades of experience in plumbing repairs and new installation. Their philosophy has always been that quality work and fair pricing help to build long-term relationships, and they place an emphasis on customer service. This Virginia plumber understands that the reputation of the company can make or break the business. Customers report nothing but good experiences with this Virginia plumber, as evidenced by their stellar reviews at Angies List.

Even late at night, homeowners can rest assured that they are getting quality work for their money. The staff at 4FastPlumber is exceptionally professional, and they get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible, something that is even more important during an emergency call at midnight. When the call is placed, one of the service trucks will be dispatched right away, and the work will begin as soon as the truck arrives. The company is fully bonded and insured for all of their work, and they never subcontract the work to another company.

When there is emergency work that needs to be taken care of, homeowners need to call a plumber who is qualified and professional. To meet this need, 4FastPlumber is now proud to be able to offer their services 24/7 to homeowners who need their help. Homeowners will be tempted to call the first company they can find that will come to the site, but unless that plumber is 4FastPlumber, the quality of the work is up in the air. Sometimes the homeowner will call with an issue that does not need to be dealt with right away, and 4FastPlumber may advise the homeowner to avoid using the water and to call back during normal working hours in order to save the homeowner money on the cost of the repairs. When the call is a true emergency, 4FastPlumber gets a truck dispatched faster than almost every other Virginia plumber does.

The plumbing system is the most important system of the home, as it has the potential to cause serious damage to the structure of the home and serious illness to the people living there if the system becomes compromised. Homeowners need to have their plumbing repaired as soon as possible, which can sometimes mean making an emergency call late at night to a Virginia plumber. Homeowners who call 4FastPlumber will speak to a company who specializes in repair services and they will get the work done in the most efficient way possible.

Plumber: Kitchen-sink choice leaves her feeling drained - July 31, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

Q: I plan on having a new kitchen sink installed this fall and I'm stuck on what type to get. Because I don't have a dishwasher, I like the idea of having one large single-bowl sink for extra room. But, I think a double-bowl sink is more practical and that is what I presently have. Can you please help me decide what style can work best for me? -- June in Ohio

A: Usually, I would list the advantages and disadvantages of both types, then let you decide. However, a new style of kitchen sink -- called "low barrier" or "smart divide" -- has become available in the last few years.

Basically, it takes the best features of single- and double-bowl kitchen sinks, and puts them all in one unit.

The concept is quite simple: The divider wall between the sink bowls has been lowered, so handling larger, long-handled items such as pots and pans can be a lot easier. But, because you still have separate sink basins, you can wash in one bowl while still keeping the second bowl open for rinsing or disposer use. The overall size is the same as a standard kitchen sink, making it a perfect choice for a replacement job.

Bottom line: A smart divided sink can be an intelligent choice for your kitchen.

Prosecutors Plumber helped plan Deerfield break-in, robbery - July 31, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

By JAMES A. KIMBLE Union Leader Correspondent

BRENTWOOD A plumber who allegedly provided the layout of a Deerfield home to accomplices who stole $20,000 in cash and a box of silver was described by prosecutors as a key participant to the break-in who never set foot in the home during the heist.

Prosecutors said Christopher Martin, 40, of Danbury, formed a plan with two others to carry out the June 29, 2011, burglary so a large safe could be raided for money and an assortment of valuables.

"He came up with the perfect score. It was a perfect target," Assistant County Attorney Michael Zaino said during opening arguments in Rockingham County Superior Court.

Martin is facing charges of conspiracy to commit burglary and acting as an accomplice to Jacob Palo, 37, of Concord and his girlfriend Sherri Avnet, 34, of Manchester, who were both convicted for their roles in the case.

Defense lawyer Michael Anderson described Martin as a successful businessman, a family man and longtime friend of the victim, Dr. Arthur Cutter.

Anderson said his client had nothing to gain by participating in the burglary.

"The real actors have already been convicted," Anderson said. "This is just a case of taking somebody down with him."

Palo stormed into Cutter's house sometime around 6:30 p.m., and brutally beat the local veterinarian before directing him to the safe in his bedroom. Palo is serving a 20 to 40 year prison sentence after pleading guilty to a litany of charges, including first-degree assault.

Cutter testified on Tuesday that he first thought the man at his front door was a client from his veterinarian business that he had forgotten to take care of earlier in the day.
