AW & Sons Exhaust Proudly Announce the Launch of New Website at AWSONS.NET

    - January 31, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Central Islip, NY (PRWEB) January 31, 2014

AW & Sons Exhaust, a provider of HVAC and duct cleaning services on Long Island and New York City to organizations, is pleased to announce the launch of their new website at AWSONS.NET.

Established over 50 years ago, AW & Sons Exhaust has provided their expert services to organizations with any duct work within their buildings with heating, ventilation of air conditioning systems (HVAC), kitchen exhuast systems or clothing dryers. The air that these systems transmit is more often than not carrying airborne debris, dust, allergens and other micro particles that are not seen by the human eye. Within the duct work of buildings they can build up and over time create situations where disease and other health-challenging situations cannot be detected. Additionally, in the cases of kitchen exhaust systems and dryers vents, the build-up of debris could lead to fire as well. For this reason, professional cleaning services such as those offered by AW & Sons Exhaust are necessary.

The team at AW & Sons exhaust realized that while they had a solid core of long terms customers, there were new customers throughout the five boroughs and Long Island who would have need of the services they provide. As the world has become more digital centric, the need was palpable for a web presence that presented the basics of the services they provided as well as serving as a portal by which new customers could find them. Working with Benjamin Marc, the premier web and graphic design firm serving Long Island and the Tri-state area, the new website was conceived with the goal of it being an inviting web presence. The clean design and visitor-friendly navigation struck the right balance for what AW & Sons was looking for.

For over 50 years AW & Sons Exhaust, Inc. has provided quality service in the cleaning of Kitchen Exhaust and HVAC Systems. The family owned and operated business has been serving satisfied customers that include Hospitals, Universities & Schools, Fire Departments, Nursing Homes and large & small businesses throughout the five boroughs. They provide quality service in the cleaning of hoods, ducts and fans of Kitchen Exhaust Systems as well as the removal of accumulated dust, debris and other particulates in the HVAC Systems. Located in Central Islip in Suffolk County, their trained NADCA staff are FDNY Certified Kitchen Exhaust cleaning technicians. They can be reached on the web or by phone for a free estimate at (631) 581-9609.

Broad Bay retaining wall work to start by end of year

    - January 31, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Work is expected to start on a new $900,000 retaining wall at Broad Bay by the end of the year.

The 180m-long wall will repair damage caused by a landslip at Turnbulls Bay in last year's June storm.

The storm also caused a major landslip on Upper Junction Rd at Sawyers Bay and a significant slip in Brown St in central Dunedin.

Dunedin City Council projects engineer Evan Matheson said computer-generated images of what the 2m to 4m high wall at Turnbulls Bay should look like were given to the Otago Peninsula Community Board this week to update members on progress since the slips. A section of the road around the bay has been reduced to one lane, managed by traffic lights, since the slip occurred.

Board chairwoman Christine Garey said the Broad Bay community had been ''extra patient'' over the inconvenience so far, although the length of time it was taking to come up with a solution had been concerning some residents.

People would need to wait a bit longer, but their patience would pay off.

The repairs would also include widening the existing road to include a 3m-wide shared path for cyclists and pedestrians, which had not been part of other, future, plans to improve the road.

''It's a plus. And it's going to be later than people wish, but that's the reality.

''The staff have been working very hard on this.''

Mr Matheson said the price of the wall was indicative until a design was confirmed, but at this stage the whole project was expected to cost between $750,000 and $900,000.

SC clears decks for Jayalalithaa's prosecution in IT case

    - January 31, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

    PTI Jan 30, 2014, 07.13PM IST

    (Jayalalithaa isbeing)

NEW DELHI: In a setback to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, the Supreme Court today cleared the decks for her prosecution for not filing income tax returns in 1993-94 and asked a lower court to wrap up the trial in four months.

Refusing to discharge her from the criminal case, the apex court also gave a green signal for prosecution of her close aide S Sasikala also for not filing IT return for the same year and against company Sasi Enterprises, a partnership firm of Jayalalithaa and Sasikala for evading tax in the assessment years 1991-92 and 1992-93.

They are being prosecuted under Section 276CC of the Income Tax Act, which provides for rigorous imprisonment for a term ranging from 6 months to 7 years in cases where the amount of tax evasion detected exceeds Rs.1 lakh.

A bench of justices K S Radhakrishnan and A K Sikri said that contentions of the AIADMK chief and others that there has not been any wilful failure to file their return cannot be accepted.

"...the contention of the learned senior counsel for the appellant that there has not been any wilful failure to file their return cannot be accepted and on facts, offence under Section 276CC of the Act has been made out in all these appeals and the rejection of the application for the discharge calls for no interference by this Court," the bench said.

Jayalalithaa final tax liability was determined at Rs.12,54,395 as per the order of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal after giving credit to pre-paid tax and for Sasikala it was Rs.9,81,870. The firm's tax liability was Rs.32,63,482 for the assessment year 1991-92 and Rs.52,47,594 for 1992-93.

Sasi Enterprises was formed as a partnership firm by a deed dated February 06, 1989 with Sasikala and one T V Dinakaran as its partners, which was later reconstituted with effect from May 4, 1990 with Jayalalithaa and Sasikala as partners.

Florida Mold Inspection Firm AGC Environmental Gives Public Air Quality Maintenance Advise as Mold in Main Street …

    - January 31, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Miami, FL (PRWEB) January 31, 2014

A mold problem was plaguing Virginia's Main Street Library. And in response to it, AGC Environmental, a Florida mold inspection company, gave out an advise how to maintain a safe indoor air quality.

According to a report from dailypress.com, which was published on January 30, 2014, the problem was discovered in November and the management is now working on getting it fixed. It detailed that it particularly affected the non-fiction and reference books of the library located at the 2nd floor of the building.

Newport News Library Director Izabela Cieszynski said in the report that they are not sure about the source of the mold but it could be the automatic doors, which allowed the entry of high humidity. Despite the closure of the contaminated area though, she said that the public could still checkout specific books.

Below is an excerpt from the said report.

"Moisture is the enemy of librarians in humid climes and Newport News is no exception."

"The latest victims are non-fiction and reference collections housed on the second floor of the Main Street Library, where mold was found growing on the books."

"Volunteers are helping clean the books of mold, and "we're in the process of getting a vendor to come in and clean that collection," said Newport News Library Director Izabela Cieszynski."

AGC Environmental said that mold greatly affects a place's indoor air quality. Wherever it grows, it stated that its spores could go airborne and threaten the health of the people.

Because of that, the company stressed that mold remediation is essential in keeping a safe indoor environment. Nonetheless, before it is implemented, it said that the fungus' presence must first be confirmed. And to do that, it asserted that an air test and mold inspection are needed.
