AIKEN, SC (WRDW)
"It was about 12:30 we were having lunch and he knocked on the door," said Pauline Woodward. Woodward who is 80-years-old and her husband, Kelly who is 96-years-old say they invited the man on the other side of the door into their home. "Jimmy Mack, that was the one that came up to the door," said Woodward.
She says Mack was with Four Seasons Painting and Coating out of Augusta and that he could spray coat her driveway and fill the cracks making it look brand new for next to nothing. "Oh it will look so much better we can spray it and it'll turn grey just like new concrete," said Woodward.
Thirty minutes later, Woodward says her driveway was covered in what appears to be just white paint. Two weeks since the work has been finished, the paint is peeling when it rains, exposing the original concrete surface underneath. Unhappy with the work, she says she did not feel it was worth $640. She says Mack agreed to settle for a lesser price.
"Just $600, give me $600," said Woodward. Not much of a difference and hundreds of dollars more than she says the original verbal estimate was for. "He was very convincing," said Woodward.
She said she had learned an expensive lesson and will think twice the next time someone comes knocking on her door with an offer that seems too good to be true. "I feel terrible. I feel terrible about what's happened," said Woodward.
We called the number listed with the company but it was disconnected. Meanwhile our investigation found no company operating in Augusta by the name of Four Seasons Painting and Coating.
The Better Business Bureau says: do not ever contract with any paving, seal coating, roofing or home improvement company that knocks on your door.

FORT MYERS, FL -
Today is demolition day for the old Fort Myers library.
After 6 years of planning, the site on Central Avenue will be home to a new 34-thousand square foot fire station for the Fort Myers Fire Department.
"To see this building coming down it opens it up for us to move forward," said Scott Wirth, Division Chief of Operations.
Each piece of the building structure will broken up into it's own scrap pile--from there, it will be towed away for recycling.
For Terri Crawford, the site is a view of mixed emotions.
"It's a bitter sweet moment when you saw the first part of the building come down. This library has been such a part of the community for almost 34 years," Terri Crawford, Deputy Director, Lee County Library System.
With a brand new Fort Myers library just blocks away, Crawford is looking forward to seeing the finished product.
"I'm excited to see what it's going to look like," Crawford said.
Demolition will wrap up by the end of this week.

THE VILLA Perez Mansion in Lucena City before it was demolished. DELFIN T. MALLARI JR.
The demolition of the Villa Perez Mansion, a popular historical landmark in Lucena City, to clear the way for the construction of a schoolbuilding has heightened public concern over the fate of other heritage sites and structures in Quezon province.
When we lose our past, we lose our identity, our tradition and our self-respect, Rogg Villar, a financial analyst and graduate of Quezon Provincial High School (QPHS), posted in the Facebook page of the schools alumni, QPHS Mahal Ko.
Many other graduates of QPHS, one of the oldest secondary schools in the province, have expressed similar heartbreaking comments in the social network site. Amelia Solana, a retired high school teacher, cried when she saw the old, three-story Villa Perez going down in pieces. She used to bring her students to the old mansion along Quezon Avenue for a glimpse of Quezons colorful past.
The demolition job of the wood-and-concrete structure started on Jan. 2 and took only a week to finish. A six-story building of Systems Technology Institute (STI) is to rise from the site after the groundbreaking program on Jan. 9.
The owners should have preserved it with the help of the local and national government, Solana said.
