New York, NY (PRWEB) December 25, 2013
Revenue for the Heating and Air Conditioning Wholesaling industry has been volatile over the past five years, largely due to declines in residential and commercial construction and private spending on home improvements. However, after substantial revenue losses in 2008 and 2009, the industry began to recover in 2010, according to IBISWorld Industry Analyst Stephen Morea. Consequently, revenue is expected to continue growing through 2013 to total $32.0 billion. However, this increase is not enough to outpace recessionary declines and so industry revenue is expected to decrease by an annualized 1.2% in the five years to 2013.
New home construction, which is measured by the number of US housing starts, began its recovery in 2010. This growth accelerated in 2012, when housing starts jumped 29.0% and is expected to increase an additional 16.7% in 2013. This is a crucial trend because many of these new residential structures will require heating or air conditioning equipment, boosting demand for the industry, says Morea. Demand from commercial building contractors also improved after the recession and these companies will provide new work, additions and repairs to offices and other structures. As a vital downstream market for industry wholesalers, rising demand from contractors will ultimately increase revenue an expected 2.7% in 2013.
In the five years to 2018, rising employment and disposable incomes will boost homeowner's spending ability. This, in turn, will lead to stronger demand for home improvements, which includes upgrades in heating and air conditioning equipment. The enforcement of several environmental regulations will also aid industry growth. For example the Environmental Protection Agency's plans to eliminate hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) includes a 90.0% reduction in HCFC product consumption and production by 2015. This ruling will spur heating and air-conditioning replacement demand because HCFCs often occur as leakage from cooling appliances. Other incentives such as tax rebates and savings associated with buying new, energy-efficient equipment, will help industry revenue increase by 2018.

From Curt Gunsburys new 7west apartments in Minneapolis to Lynn Gordons soon to open French Meadow Bakery & Caf in St. Paul, feng shui principles are inching into building design and businesses in the area.
In feng shui (pronounced fung shway), every building is believed to possess an inherent energy, known as qi (pronounced chee). The idea is to marshal and promote that energy while keeping out bad forces, according to feng shui consultant Andrew Hong. The Chinese process includes everything from the site of a building and its orientation to the colors and fixtures selected to inhabit it.
A building is composed of energy, and that energy can be good, or it can be bad, Hong said. We want to channel the good energy to our benefit.
Hong, 71, has been busy as one of the regions leading practitioners of feng shui. His largest project was the 213-unit 7west apartment building at 1800 Washington Ave. S. in Minneapolis. One of his most recent is the French Meadow Bakery opening in January in the former Coffee News Caf at 1662 Grand Ave. in St. Paul.
According to Hongs feng shui vision of a city, skyscrapers are mountains and freeways are rivers. In the 7west project, he saw a tsunami of energy emanating from the Seven Corners neighborhood and began thinking about how to control it.
The biggest change he recommended for the $41 million project was to move the front door to face Washington Avenue rather than an adjacent Marriott Courtyard. I immediately saw the entrance was in the wrong position, Hong said.
The biggest change feng shui expert Andrew Hong made in the $41 million 7west apartments was to suggest the front door be moved to a location on Washington Avenue in Minneapolis instead of facing a nearby hotel. (File photo: Bill Klotz)
He recalls that the design team balked at the idea, citing the expense of moving the doors. The entrance ended up being moved because of pressure from the city of Minneapolis rather than adherence to good feng shui principles, he said with a laugh.

A clean surrounding, preparing 12 kinds of fruits of different sizes and shapes, and serving fish and chicken dishes are some of the best ways to attract luck on New Year, a modern Feng Shui expert said yesterday. The first order of the day in preparing to welcome 2014 is to de-clutter the most used spaces in the your home. Mag-general cleaning tayo bago mag-New Year. Throw away old things, especially those with cracks in your plates and drinking glasses or worn-out clothes. They will only invite negative energy, said popular Feng Shui Master Hanz Cua. Dapat by December 30, malinis na lahat. Kung hindi natin gagawin ito, stagnant ang luck natin. Change it and fix it.
Master Hanz said that there should be no problem concerning the main door of the house, which he describes as the mouth of the house. He explained that a main door that is broken or not fixed will lead to health problems on stomach, pancreas, liver, and ulcer.
Another area that should be organized is the kitchen. Kung magulo at marumi ang kitchen, this will affect the health and wealth of the occupants. If possible, ang kulay ng kitchen natin is yellow, red or orange to attract luck, said Master Hanz, who recently predicted a bettors jackpot win in the lotto. (Master Hanz said that he did not give the winning lotto numbers. He only forecast the favorable period the bettor placed the bet).
The third area that should be organized is the bedroom where there should be no books, magazines, computers, television sets and most of all, mirrors. Kung meron tayong mga bagay na ito, chances are affected ang pag-tulog natin, especially if the mirror reflects on our bed. If the television set, mirror or computer cannot be avoided in the bedroom, the occupants should cover it before sleeping, added Master Hanz.
On New Years Eve, the dining table should be filled with food. The dining table should show abundance. Serve 12 different kinds of fruits with pineapple as the star fruit. Hindi naman kailangan bilog lahat ng prutas. Banana is also good because it signifies family bonding, Master Hanz said.
Fish and meat dishes, likes pork and chicken, also attract luck. In the olden days, kings and queens serve chicken on feast days. Thats why hindi tutoo yung isang kahig, isang tuka pag kumain ka ng chicken on new year, he added.
Master Hanz also encouraged the public to wear red on New Years Eve and New Years day. He said that the color of the underwear should be red.. Red is one of the lucky colors for 2014. Dapat bago ang red underwear natin pag-dating ng new year.
At 12 midnight, Master Hanz said that revelers may roll kiat-kiat (small and sweet Mandarin or Ponkan oranges from China) from the main door of the house toward the living room. In spattering coins, make sure that they are fresh or new. Then magsaboy ng coins from living room papunta sa mga bedroom. Kailangan mag-aagawan yung mga occupants habang hinahagis yung coins. Make sure that the bed sheets and pillow cases are either brand new or newly-washed, he added.
Master Hanz, who also studied astrology, palm, face and tarot reading abroad, said that the people should make noise in welcoming the new year to rid of negative energy. Open all lights, faucets, windows and doors for few minutes. Dapat lighted ang harap ng bahay. Flickering lights are not good. Ibig sabihin nun hindi stable ang wealth.

MANILA (Updated) -- A week before the world bids 2013 goodbye, a feng shui consultant shared her predictions for the coming year of the Wooden Horse.
Jean Sy, a feng shui consultant in Binondo, Manila, said in an interview with Sun.Star that 2014 will be a good year of money (wealth) and success for those who were born in the year of the Horse, Rat, Rabbit and Rooster based on the Chinese Zodiac Calendar. However, Sy said people born under these signs will have to be conscious about their health condition and relationships.
Source: Free Astrology 123
For those born in the year of the Tiger, Boar, Dragon, Snake and Dog, Sy said that 2014 will not be smooth sailing since there is a "negative star," a symbol for obstacles and hardships. Their wealth status will be unstable and they also have to be conscious of their health.
However, for those born under the year of the Monkey, Sheep and Ox, 2014 will be a year of ups and downs. In career, individuals who were born under these signs should be speculative, as unexpected but positive things will come. There will be hardships but it will be easier for them to surpass these since they have a "helping star" that will help them survive.
Lucky colors
Sy added that the lucky colors for 2014 are blue and yellow, which represent water and earth, respectively. These colors will balance the year of the Wooden Horse.
Sa 2014 kasi, ang present lang na elements are the metal, fire and wood and the absence of the water and earth will make it imbalance, she said.
Blue will enhance the water element, good relationship and communication, while yellow will balance the money, wealth and success.
Fearless forecast
