Cop: Driver had 99 decks of heroin, a blade and a stun gun

    - December 24, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

MOUNT ARLINGTON Philip L. Rosende left more than his car behind on Route 80 over the weekend, State Police say.

While the troopers were on the scene, another vehicle pulled over onto the shoulder of the road, with 29-year-old Rosende in the passenger seat, Grossman said. Rosende identified himself as the owner and operator of the unoccupied vehicle, Grossman said.

Rosende showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest, Grossman said. The troopers found 97 heroin wax folds in Rosende's trunk, he said.

The Daily Record, citing a criminal complaint filed in Superior Court, said troopers also reported finding another two decks of heroin in Rosende's jeans pockets. Grossman said he didn't have information on that available.

Troopers also found a stun gun and a switchblade in the car, Grossman said.

Rosende was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while intoxicated or impaired. He was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.

    Pacific County bridge repair continues

    - December 24, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

Work to replace four narrow and decades-old bridges in Pacific County progresses as crews get ready to pour concrete decks on the new, wider replacement structures this winter.

The state Department of Transportations contractor on the State Route 6 Willapa River Bridge is scheduled to pour the new concrete bridge decks today. Crews working to replace the state Route 105 North River and Smith Creek bridges and the US 101 Middle Nemah River Bridge are on target to pour concrete for the new bridge decks in late December and early January.

In order for the concrete to dry and harden, the decks must be poured during dry weather with temperatures warmer than 35 degrees.

Weve had some intense winter weather, but were expecting a few warm days to let us pour the concrete for the decks, said Project Engineer Lee Unterwegner. Well have a lot of activity going on in the work zones, so were asking drivers to be patient and drive with caution.

Drivers traveling over the Smith Creek and North River bridges on SR 105 should expect single-lane traffic with flagging and delays of up to 20 minutes from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic will be regulated by an automated signal during non-work hours.

Another automated signal is controlling traffic on the one-lane US 101 Middle Nemah Bridge around the clock. Drivers can expect up to 10-minute delays until construction is complete in spring 2014.

All four projects are funded by the 2005 gas tax package and pre-existing state funds, and are scheduled to be complete by the end of 2014.

Hill Elementary decks the halls (and doors) for Food Shelf drive

    - December 24, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

The giving spirit was alive and well this Christmas season at Hill Elementary.

School employees decided to hold a food drive that would be fun and festive for the students. Teachers and other school staff members decorated the doors to their rooms with holiday themes such as gingerbread houses, snowmen, reindeer or the grinch and students voted for their favorite decorations by making food donations. Each donation made entitled the student to one vote.

When the votes were tallied the night of Dec. 18, fourth grade teachers Nancy Siebenahler and Cristin Winter captured the most votes with their gingerbread collaboration; Britta Streff acquired the second most votes with her snowmen theme; and JoLynn Nangle tallied the third most votes with her winter wonderland theme.

I like the gingerbread house because its two rooms together, said fourth grader Elsie ONeil. Its like a big gingerbread house.

All participating staff members received some sort of recognition for their decorations such as funniest or Rudolphs favorite, but Siebenahler said the real winners are the people who will receive items from the 471 pounds of food collected during the contest. She said the contest was a first for Hill and students said theyd like to do it again next year.

It makes you feel good inside that youre helping other people, said fourth grader Izak Wixon.

Mold Sickens Family in Hamilton, My Cleaning Products Shares Mold Removal Tips to Help Public Prevent the Repeat Of It

    - December 24, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) December 24, 2013

Mold was discovered in a leased house in Peter Rafferty Drive in Hamilton, New Jersey. And according to a report from nj.com, it sickened the family living there forcing them to transfer. In response to it, My Cleaning Products shared some mold removal tips to help the public avoid the same effect.

Based on the report, which was posted on December 16, 2013, the affected family was particularly the Harleys, related My Cleaning Products. The wife, husband, two children and a grandparent of the household, it detailed, all suffered cold-like symptoms that became worse over time due to mold.

It was said in the report that the mold was initially found at the basement of the house, MCP relayed. However, after an inspection, it was discovered that the whole place was contaminated, it stated.

The previous tenants dealt with the same problem that Hurley faced, the post also shared. However, before renting it out again, it was alleged that the landlord just painted over the fungus, it related.

Below is a part of the post Mold Leave Family Sick by My Cleaning Products.

Mold has left a family in Hamilton with a lot of troubles. Besides the various health risks it brought to the members, it also forced all of them to leave their residence.

The Hurleys were that family. They moved to a home in Peter Rafferty Drive in Hamilton in May but had to move out recently due to the mold's effect to their health.

According to My Cleaning Products, it is essential to kill mold. And that's because it could bring a lot of health problems, it stated.

Nonetheless, to eliminate it, one must first find it. So, it advised the public to always be on the look out fort mold signs. Particularly, it said that the people must be wary of the musty odor mold emits. Once it is smelled, it said that an inspection must then be implemented so the fungus could be found and cleared early.

Ramsey council approves bids for Elmcrest Park building

    - December 24, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

The Ramsey City Council Dec. 10 unanimously approved bids to construct a new community building at Elmcrest Park.

This will be more than a place to buy beverages and snacks for people attending youth athletic association games. A large meeting room will give associations and the public at-large a space to discuss issues important to them.

The new community building at Elmcrest Park will include a space for selling concessions, a large meeting room, storage space and a gathering area that includes a fireplace.

It means that the Anoka-Ramsey Athletic Association will not have to put up a tent when hosting tournaments that host teams from out of town. Lisa Muller, president of the association, said it had to put down wood boards because Anoka County said it could not just place items on the grass if it wanted to serve concessions.

Muller is excited to see this project move forward, which she said will get people from out of town to come to the businesses and it helps the associations keep the fields up.

Weve been working on this diligently for the past two-and-a-half years, but weve been talking about it for 10 years, she said.

According to Muller, the association has had as many as 172 soccer teams with about 3,000 kids at some tournaments. The association schedules games at Elmcrest for traveling teams, which start as young as the fourth grade and go up through U-17.

Mark Riverblood, parks and assistant public works superintendent for Ramsey, said the tournaments are often three or more days. There is at least one traveling tournament in July and another in October.

With parents and other spectators one can easily double the number of park patrons (over the 3,000), over the course of a couple of days, Riverblood said.

Muller anticipates even more teams could be interested in coming to play at Elmcrest with this new facility in place.
