Friday 9.20am: FOLLOWING a major failure at Dysart's Water Treatment Plant, full water supply is expected to be restored to residents within seven days.
Dysart residents have access to limited water supply, and are being reminded this water is for absolutely essential use only. Residents are encouraged to use potable water available at the Caltex garage first, to preserve critical water supply in the mains.
Dysart's reservoirs are currently very low and will gradually continue to fill as water trucks operate 24 hours a day to truck water from Saraji, Moranbah and Clermont.
Isaac Regional Council says the latest water quality results indicate water leaving the treatment plant is clear, with staff continuing to conduct in-house sampling every two to three hours to ensure water meets the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
"Council is closely monitoring Dysart's water treatment system following installation of the filtering agent 'green sand'," council said in a statement.
"Council will continue to supply additional water to Dysart residents until normal water supply is restored. The supply of bottled water remains at a limit of four litres per person, per day."
Dysart's council office will be open from 8.30am to 1pm on Saturday for residents to collect bottled water.
Residents can collect eight litres per person on Saturday as the office will be closed on Sunday. If you are unable to collect your water on the weekend you can collect your weekend water allocation on Friday.
Residents can continue to collect drinking water from council's Dysart office and the water truck located between Caltex and Sargents, on the corner of Carfax Road and Queen Elizabeth Drive from 8.30am tomorrow.

AUSTIN, Texas He's known for coloring outside the lines in the staid U.S. Senate. Now children large and small can color in U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz.
Just in time for the holidays, St. Louis publisher Really Big Coloring Books Inc. is offering a coloring and activity book featuring the Texas tea party darling.
Company founder Wayne Bell said Thursday the book is already in its third printing after just six days. The first run of around 10,000 sold out in barely 24 hours, and the second went nearly as fast.
"At this point, I would almost call it a phenomenon," Bell said. "It's beyond us. We're just trying to catch up with the printing."
"U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz to the Future" is intended for "all ages." Cruz did not cooperate in its production.
The cover features the beaming senator pointing at a flourishing tea plant whose stalks are stenciled with "Ten Commandments" and "U.S. Constitution." It has leaves that include "Gun rights," ''Free Enterprise," and "Lower Taxes."
At the top is a leaf reading "White House," and the plant is growing on a lawn and root system that spell out "Grass Roots," a reference to Cruz's wild popularity with conservative activist groups.
Cruz only took office in January but is already frequently mentioned as a possible 2016 presidential contender.
He is an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment and the book shows him hunting. It also features Cruz's marathon, 21-hour speech on the Senate floor opposing the White House-backed health care law. It says of that effort: "A lot of the career establishment politicians are far too out of shape, old or overweight to even perform such a magnificent feat."
The book has pictures of him alone and with his wife Heidi and two young daughters. There are also excerpts of the Ten Commandments and Cruz trivia.

Wet, cold, cloudy days are great days for garden planning. Maybe it is time for some landscape changes or additions. Maybe over the past few years, you've felt that there are some areas of your yard that just aren't "doing it" for you anymore.
So maybe it is time to come up with a new design plan. The best way to approach a new landscape change is to first draw a plan. Consider all the activities, interests and the overall look that you and your family will want from the change.
Having an overall plan to follow allows you the ability and freedom to accomplish this big picture all at once or to space the plantings out over weeks, months or even years.
In the long run, a good plan will also save you money. Think about all the times you've bought plants that you just couldn't resist and then realized you really didn't have space in your landscape for them.
When coming up with your new design, keep the growing conditions that you will be working with in mind as you pick plants. Texas mountain laurels would not be happy in shady, damp areas for very long.
Choose native drought-tolerant plants as much as possible. Overall, these plants will require less maintenance. One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make when planting is to overdo it.
I realize it is easy to want all the beautiful plants you see at garden centers. But getting carried away with your plantings can mean more maintenance for you. Flower beds and vegetable gardens are wonderful and beautiful to have, but they require labor. That's time that most of us don't have.
Other ways to cut down on your routine yard maintenance is to utilize more ground covers. Ground covers, like Asiatic jasmine, are good, low-maintenance plants for difficult growing areas.
Shady and sloping areas are great candidates for ground covers. The less lawn grass you have in any landscape will always mean less water usage and maintenance. This should be a must in these times of drought and extreme temperatures.

Hill is the 11th head coach in team history. The 38-year-old makes the move to the Big Sky Conference school after nine seasons as a full-time assistant on Kyle Whittinghams staff at Utah.
Jay has done a great job for our program for a number of years in many capacities and we will miss him, Whittingham said. He is one of the top special teams coaches in the country and he is ready to become a head coach. We wish him all the best as he takes the next step in his coaching career.
During his tenure with the Utes, Hill served as special teams coordinator and position coach for tight ends, running backs and cornerbacks. He was a graduate and administrative assistant from 2001-04.
In his playing days, Hill was a star defensive back at Ricks College and Utah. He played briefly with the XFLs Orlando Rage and signed free agent contracts with the NFLS Buffalo Bills and New York Giants.
Hell make a great head coach, said Utah safeties coach Morgan Scalley. Jay is a guy with a ton of experience on both sides of the football, really in all three phases of the game offense, defense and special teams.
Scalley also praised Hill for being a great recruiter who has done a great job in the state of Utah and knows the landscape well. He also considers him a guy with a lot of energy and a ton of great ideas.

City Council on Thursday unanimously approved the long-awaited land-bank bill, and Mayor Nutter promptly vowed to sign it - clearing the way for Philadelphia to become the largest city in the country with a land bank.
The goal of the bank is to cut through City Hall red tape and create a comprehensive system for confronting blight by turning vacant and tax-delinquent parcels into tax-producing properties.
Thursday's vote was something of a formality, since the tough part of agreeing on the bill's amendments was hashed out last week between its primary sponsor, Councilwoman Maria Quiones Snchez, and Council President Darrell L. Clarke.
The legislation is only the start of what will be a lot of decision-making on how the land bank is to operate.
"It's a huge step forward in addressing vacant property issues in the city," said Rick Sauer, executive director of the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations.
The land bank will likely take at least a year to be fully implemented. A budget and a staff need to be approved by next summer, and policies and procedures for how both the staff and the bank's board will operate, along with a strategic plan, will need to be developed and approved by Council.
"Now the ball is in the administration's court to resource and appropriately staff it," Quiones Snchez, who has championed the land-bank idea for five years, said after the bill passed.
Nutter's spokesman, Mark McDonald, said the mayor was committed to funding the land-bank staff and whatever else is required to move the plan forward.

City Council approves long-awaited city land-bank bill
The million-dollar home once owned by former NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield is scheduled to be burned to the ground as part of a fire training exercise.
The Catawba County Fire Marshal's Office says the 12,000-square-foot unfinished house will be burned down on Saturday.
Catawba Fire Chief Donald Robinson said the new owners no longer want the home that is worth just over $300,000.
Robinson told WSOC in Charlotte that burning the home will take it off the tax books while providing training for firefighters in the county.
"Everything we can do to better our training and skills, that's what we are going to be doing with this house," Robinson said.
State officials kicked Mayfield off the land in November 2012. Catawba County sheriff's deputies changed the locks on the doors. Carolina Farm Credit received an order that month transferring the land and buildings to the company. Court records show the bank bought the land for $1,725,000.
The windows and the wiring have been stripped from the home. Drywall and other building materials are now exposed.
Mayfield was suspended from driving in 2009 after testing positive for methamphetamine. He is facing a variety of charges.
