Ceramic tiles are used in myriad applications. Usually, ceramic tiles are brittle, strong and hard; They are weak in tension and shearing. These properties help ceramic tiles offer resistance to harsh environments, high temperatures and acidic or caustic materials. Globally, the demand for ceramic tiles is primarily driven by an increase in construction activities, especially in new residential applications. Also, the technological innovations have led to better production processes and enhancement in the aesthetic appeal of ceramic tiles. These are likely to be the major driving factors for the ceramic tiles market.
Volatility in energy prices and strict government regulations are expected to offer key challenges to market players.
Floor tiles was the predominant ceramic tiles product segment, accounting for over 52% of total demand in 2012. Demand for floor tiles is estimated to rise significantly in the next few years due to increasing urbanization in emerging economies of Asia Pacific. Demand for new residential houses coupled with increasing disposable incomes in these economies is expected to boost the ceramic tiles market in the region.

Asia Pacific accounted for about 66% of the total ceramic tiles market in 2012, followed by Europe and Latin America. Asia Pacific is also anticipated to be the fastest growing regional market in terms of consumption and production of ceramic tiles. This can be ascribed to growing economies in the region. Asia Pacific has emerged as a key destination for producers of ceramic tiles owing to the economic development and increase in investments in construction projects. This has encouraged various manufacturers to focus on capacity expansions in Asia Pacific. Europe is the other major region with strong consumption of ceramic tiles. In terms of revenue, the market for ceramic tiles in the region is estimated to expand at a CAGR of about 7.6% from 2013 and 2019.

We have entered the era of unlimited limited editions.
A few years ago, it was the word luxury. Every condo complex or apartment building going up around Washington was labeled luxury, which, as far as I could tell, meant it had granite countertops.
Today, its limited edition thats everywhere. Ford will sell you a limited-edition F-150 pickup truck designed to look like a Tonka toy. A company called MAC regularly brings out limited-edition cosmetics, including lipstick and eyeliner inspired by comic-book hotties Betty and Veronica.
And now you cant walk down the aisle in a grocery store without being bombarded by limited-edition cookies, chips and other snack foods. Not literally bombarded though that sounds fun but metaphorically. Shelves are crowded with all manner of unique flavors designed to tempt your taste buds for some finite period of time.
According to a list maintained by the Web site taquitos.net (Serious about snacks), limited-edition foods over the past decade number in the hundreds and include such offerings as Lays Tastes of America Limited-Edition Monterey Pepper Jack Potato Chips, Pringles Limited-Edition Crunchy Dill Potato Crisps, Cape Cod Kettle Cooked Potato Chips Limited Batch Asiago Cheese & Italian Herbs, Reeses Elvis Peanut Butter & Banana Creme Collector Edition and Tastykake Limited-Edition Salted Caramel Mini Donuts.
Its as if the Franklin Mint had been placed in charge of our nations junk-food supply.
Limited editions jump on flavor trends. Salted caramel is big now. So is pumpkin spice. The latest product to earn a place in my households pantry was inspired by the great cupcake explosion: Limited-Edition Red Velvet Oreos, a flavor Nabisco introduced on Feb. 2 in honor of Valentines Day.
Oreo first dipped a cookie into the limited-edition milk way back in 1985, when Oreo Mint Creme cookies were introduced for a limited time. Since then the Nabisco brand has offered such limited-edition versions as Marshmallow Crispy, White Fudge, Candy Cane, Caramel Apple, Limeade and Fruit Punch.
To me, the most disturbing creation was the limited-edition Cookies n Creme Ice Cream Oreo. Here were Oreos aping an ice cream flavor thats made with ... crumbled Oreos. It was like some metaphysical joke, an Oreo snake eating its own tail. I shudder to think what would happen if someone made cookies and cream ice cream out of limited-edition Cookies n Creme Ice Cream Oreos. The universe would probably wink out.
Eric Huang writes about junk food at his blog, Junkfoodguy.com. I think over the past four years more and more companies are trying to really stretch their brands into other spaces, he said.

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Spring is in bloom, at least at the Great Big Home and Garden Show. 20,000 people cameto the I-X Center Sunday to take it all in.
For Todd and Kim Ennemoser of Columbia Station, it's the ultimate place to get ideas for the new home they are planning on building this spring. The ideahome that's featuredhas helped give them a boost.
"The floor plans of the main feature house it's very similar towhat we are looking at building," Todd said.
And there's so many more things the Ennemosers are here to check out.
"Ideas for cabinetry, maybe some patio features. A bunch of different stuff," Todd said.
Investing money on your outdoor living space is really big because we spend so much time in Northeast Ohio inside. When it gets nice, people want to be outside. What's big this year? Stone countertops with your grill, of course, but also a smoker, and evena refrigerator.
Laura and Jeff Albaugh of Bedford are working on creating their own backyard oasis.
"More of a fire pit. We are looking at the gas fire pits," said the Albaughs. "A hot tub would be nice." Wendy Gilchrist did that last year with the tips she got here. Now she plans on remodeling her kitchen. She loved what she saw in the kitchen in theideahome. Some of the countertopsand the cabinets, the way that things are structured," Gilchrist said.
Little changes that don't cost a lot of money can be found here too. "We have a little room that has nothing in it right now. We already saw something that would look perfect in there!" Laura Albaugh said
The Great Big Home and Garden Show runs until next Sunday.
Fawley-Bryant Architects Inc. has redesigned the entrance of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota. The entry canopy will be updated, and lighting, Cooley Theater and educational displays will be improved.
Fawley Bryant Architects Inc. is continuing its work with Marie Selby Botanical Gardens by designing improvements to the gardens' entrance.
The new project follows and complements the firm's successful redesign of Selby Gardens' Great Room By the Bay, the popular wedding and reception venue overlooking Sarasota Bay.
The renovation to the Welcome Center will update the entry canopy and lighting, Cooley Theater and educational displays about the Gardens and its botanical mission.
The membership sales area, daily sales counters and the gift shop will receive such improvements as accessible entryways for guests with disabilities.
Restrooms at the gift shop and caf will receive cosmetic upgrades.
Tandem Construction will manage construction, as it did with on the Great Room renovation.
"Marie Selby would be proud that we continue to fulfill her dream of making the Gardens accessible to all of Sarasota's citizens and visitors," Cathy Layton, Selby Gardens' Board of Trustees' chairwoman, said in a written statement..
The main goals of the design are capitalizing on the beauty of the grounds and improving the visitors' experience, staff/operational efficiency, and security, Fawley Bryant said.

Dell has announced that it has successfully deployed end-to-end IT solution for RSMS Architects that gives personnel tools to enhance architectural creativity and uninterrupted protection of project data with fast backup platform. The deployment helped RSMS to reduce operating costs and drive business success with continuous data protection.
RSMS Architects was looking to enhance support for architects while guarding the company against costly IT downtime with data protection and high-performance client machines. That is time that he can spend on planning and preparing the infrastructure for growth. said Rohit Jain, Founding Partner, RSMS Architects.
Dell AppAssure is an ideal solution for data protection as it unifies back-up, replication and recovery in one, easy-to-use software solution. With AppAssure, we are assertive of the fact that in case of any data loss, you can get back to your business as usual in just minutes. Enterprises, today are faced with exponential data growth, and therefore the need to keep the data safe at all times has become extremely imperative. With this kind of holistic approach, we give them the power to do more. said Murli Mohan, Director & General Manager, Dell Software Group.
Today, RSMS Architects has continuous protection for more than 4 terabytes of physical and virtual data. With the help of Dells end-to-end solution, the company has been able to reduce time to bring ideas to life with high-performance workstations along with regaining 10 hours a week for strategic IT and instant data retrieval for message, file and server.

KAILUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
The mess was worth it.
Students got down and dirty to help restore a taro patch and in return they can now receive an education they deserve.
Saint Francis School headed a mission alongside Damien Memorial School and Sacred Hearts Academy to clear the more than two-century old Kawaii Nui Marsh in Kailua of invasive species.
The three-school cleaning effort allowed students to get in touch with their culture and help earn their tuition at the same time.
Those who participated are members of the PWH Educational Foundation, an organization which helps deserving students whose families cannot afford a Catholic education.
This educational service project allowed students to give back to the community and culture by restoring Ulupo Heiau, a historic site on both Hawaii and national registers.
Between squishing around in the mud and ruining clothes they probably can't wear again, the students were able to weed several hundred pounds of invasive species from the taro patch.
Not only was the patch purged of harmful plants and vegetation it was also restored with new native plants which can now thrive in a friendlier environment.
Each school donated money to Ahauhui Malama I Ka Lokahi in order restore the native plants being over run by foreign competitors. Ahauhui Malama I Ka Lokahi is a non-profit dedicated to preserving native species and ecosystems.
