Dell has announced that it has successfully deployed end-to-end IT solution for RSMS Architects that gives personnel tools to enhance architectural creativity and uninterrupted protection of project data with fast backup platform. The deployment helped RSMS to reduce operating costs and drive business success with continuous data protection.
RSMS Architects was looking to enhance support for architects while guarding the company against costly IT downtime with data protection and high-performance client machines. After exploring numerous vendors, RSMS Architects chose Dell to be their computing provider, selecting Dell Precision T3600 and T1650 workstations and Dell OptiPlex 3020 desktops across its office alongside installing Dell AppAssure on a Dell PowerEdge R720 server with Intel Xeon processors and a Dell PowerVault NX400 network attached storage array for continuous protection of all their physical and virtual data.
IT footprint is smaller, saving power and cooling costs with our energy-efficient client solution. Plus, our IT administrator saves at least 10 hours a week on backing up data thanks to AppAssure. That is time that he can spend on planning and preparing the infrastructure for growth. said Rohit Jain, Founding Partner, RSMS Architects.
Dell AppAssure is an ideal solution for data protection as it unifies back-up, replication and recovery in one, easy-to-use software solution. With AppAssure, we are assertive of the fact that in case of any data loss, you can get back to your business as usual in just minutes. Enterprises, today are faced with exponential data growth, and therefore the need to keep the data safe at all times has become extremely imperative. With this kind of holistic approach, we give them the power to do more. said Murli Mohan, Director & General Manager, Dell Software Group.
Today, RSMS Architects has continuous protection for more than 4 terabytes of physical and virtual data. With the help of Dells end-to-end solution, the company has been able to reduce time to bring ideas to life with high-performance workstations along with regaining 10 hours a week for strategic IT and instant data retrieval for message, file and server.

KAILUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
The mess was worth it.
Students got down and dirty to help restore a taro patch and in return they can now receive an education they deserve.
Saint Francis School headed a mission alongside Damien Memorial School and Sacred Hearts Academy to clear the more than two-century old Kawaii Nui Marsh in Kailua of invasive species.
The three-school cleaning effort allowed students to get in touch with their culture and help earn their tuition at the same time.
Those who participated are members of the PWH Educational Foundation, an organization which helps deserving students whose families cannot afford a Catholic education.
This educational service project allowed students to give back to the community and culture by restoring Ulupo Heiau, a historic site on both Hawaii and national registers.
Between squishing around in the mud and ruining clothes they probably can't wear again, the students were able to weed several hundred pounds of invasive species from the taro patch.
Not only was the patch purged of harmful plants and vegetation it was also restored with new native plants which can now thrive in a friendlier environment.
Each school donated money to Ahauhui Malama I Ka Lokahi in order restore the native plants being over run by foreign competitors. Ahauhui Malama I Ka Lokahi is a non-profit dedicated to preserving native species and ecosystems.

The nearly 8-foot-long piece of wood doesn't look like much, but it's enough.
The piece is what remainsof the front door from Bettendorf's circa-1873 Forest Grove School, and coupled with old photos and millwork catalogs it containsenough clues to give the people atCarver Custom Millworks in Milan the direction they need to create a replacement.
Besides the length and thickness dimensions, the door piece contains depressions where hinges once were, dowels thatsupportedhorizontal panels, andcove (concave) and bead (rounded) milling.
Getting the school's front door replaced is one of many upcoming projects for the Friends of Forest Grove School, a group that organized three years ago in an attempt to save theone-room school that closed in 1957.
For the first time since the project was announced, the school is "buttoned up" for the winter, with a new roof and shingles installed over the summer and the window and door openingsboarded up. Replacement windowsare waiting in the wings, though, just in need of paint, group organizer Sharon Andresen said.
A furnace also has been installed.
Priority spring and summerprojects are to complete the exterior, including soffits (the wood under the eaves), molding, siding (cleaning, repair, rehab and painting), chimney and bell tower construction/replacement, and door and window installation.
The group is restoring the school to its 1920s appearance and hopes to use it as a museum.
Fundraising also is ongoing, with a trivia night fundraiser scheduled forFriday, Feb. 13, at the Golden Leaf, 2902 E. Kimberly Road, Davenport. The evening will include a showing of the film "Forest Grove Memories" by Tammy and Kelly Rundle of Fourth Wall Films, plus a pie auction.

Huffington Post Editor-in-Chief Arianna Huffington, pictured.
By Jason Abbruzzese2015-02-08 19:00:01 UTC
The Huffington Post is headed to Australia, with more international expansion on the horizon including Mexico and China.
The digital media publication will be launching in Australia in the second quarter of 2014 in partnership with Fairfax Media, a local Australian firm. Australia represents one of the last western markets that HuffPo had not yet tapped. After this, its focus turns to the more challenging and arguably more lucrative non-Western markets.
"Australia was always on our roadmap for the future. It's incredibly important for us to be there, and it was just a question of settling on the right partner," said Arianna Huffington, co-founder and editor in chief of The Huffington Post
While the Australian launch is no small venture the country's digital advertising market hit $4.5 billion in 2014 expansion into China puts the company on track to tap a giant market that few Western media companies have been able to enter.
Huffington said the company would be focusing on lifestyle content in China, choosing to avoid covering more controversial topics, particularly politics.
"When it comes to lifestyle, which is what we would like to do in China, all the areas where The Huffington Post has thought leadership and very deep content... that's an area where we're getting tremendous interest in China and where we would have a lot of value added," Huffington said.
As long as the company is able to get the necessary approvals from the government, HuffPo's China edition could be up and running by the end of 2015, said Jimmy Maymann, CEO of The Huffington Post.
Entering China, he added, means also having to adapt to a new media strategy, particularly the importance of messaging apps.
