APT Announces Partnership with Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Inc.

    - November 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) November 04, 2014

Applied Predictive Technologies (APT) announced today that Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Inc., the worlds second-largest Quick-Service Restaurant chicken concept based on number of units, has signed an agreement to license APTs Test & Learn Management System. Popeyes is using APT to test strategic initiatives across its network of more than 1,700 domestic restaurants. With this agreement, Popeyes joins over 30 industry-leading restaurant brands, such Wendys, SUBWAY, and Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, that use APTs cloud-based Test & Learn software to evaluate a wide range of business initiatives, including menu strategies, pricing, marketing and media, labor and operations, and capital investments.

To accurately optimize large dollar investments, from media to remodels to pricing, restaurants are increasingly leveraging Test & Learn, the process of trying an idea in some markets, in some restaurants, or with some customers and comparing the performance of a test group to the performance of an optimally-matched control group. Unfortunately, the process of designing, executing, and analyzing tests in the real world is extremely challenging, due to a constant slew of concurrent initiatives in market at any given time, weekly sales volatility, and differences between restaurants and markets, said John Howard, Senior Vice President at APT.

To overcome the inherent challenges of measuring in-market initiatives, an increasing number of restaurant organizations are now leveraging APTs cloud-based Test & Learn software. Mr. Howard said, Test & Learn helps executives answer three key questions about any proposed idea before they take the risk of rolling it out network wide: First, will the idea work? Second, will it work better in some restaurants or in some markets than others? And finally, how can we tailor and target the idea for maximum profitability upon rollout?

APTs software suite for restaurants also includes tools to visually explore restaurant performance data, improve the menu, determine the profile of the best performing sites, and measure price elasticity.

During an initial pilot project with APT, Popeyes used APTs Test & Learn software to determine the incremental impact of investments across local and national media, remodels, and value initiatives.

APTs Test & Learn software has significantly increased our internal data analytics capabilities. Using APT, we have an enhanced perspective of the incremental impact of our media investments, despite the large number of other factors, such as recent reimages, that also impact performance, said Suzanne Miller, VP of Field Marketing and Media at Popeyes. The APT software enables us to better understand the results of both national and local incremental media investments in individual markets, which will guide our media planning strategy going forward.

Mr. Howard added, We are thrilled that Popeyes has decided to adapt the gold standard in Big Data analytics: Test & Learn. We look forward to a partnership with Popeyes as they continually seek to deliver delicious food and an outstanding guest experience.

About APT APT is the worlds largest purely cloud-based predictive analytics software company. APTs Test & Learn software is revolutionizing the way Global 2000 companies harness their Big Data to accurately measure the profit impact of pricing, marketing, merchandising, operations, and capital initiatives, tailoring investments in these areas to maximize ROI. APTs client portfolio features the worlds best known brands, including Walmart, Staples, Lowes, Starbucks, Victorias Secret, Hilton Hotels, and others. New HVACs at community centre

    - November 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

It could be a long, cold winter, but the public can rest assured the heating system at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre is being well maintained.

Recently, three of the eight heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre were replaced by Rimbey Heating Ltd.

Company owner Rod Challand said two engineered air units and a Lennox air unit have now been installed in the facility.

The air unit which was put over the auditorium weighed 6,000 pounds and a 90-ton crane was needed to lift it into place, said Challand.

The unit in the lobby was slightly smaller, but required more work to install as some roofing also needed to be replaced to put it into place.

This spring Rimbey town council unanimously voted in favor of awarding the tender for the HVAC replacement and coil cleaning of the community centre to Rimbey Heating Ltd. for $139,715.

They also voted unanimously to award the tender for the building controls upgrade to Direct Digital Controls Ltd. at the tendered price of $28,865.

Council has budgeted $180,000 for the replacement of the first three of the eight HVAC systems requiring replacement.

After 34 years in the restaurant businesswhere workdays averaged 12-14 hours, six days a week, including holidaysBryan Rhodes decision to open a Window Genie franchise at 6437 Legacy Point in Corpus Christi was a long time coming. But, with a precise, strategic, and patient approach he realized his dream of being his own boss that has made the process successful.

Ive known for a while that I wanted to work for myself, says the father of six. But I had obligations to meet with my familynot moving around a lot, staying in one place, and making sure that free time I had was spent with my kids was the most important thing for me. But, says Rhodes, as his children began to grow up his dreams of being his own boss began to become achievable. Once my kids got old enough and left the house, I was ready to stop making money for other people and found that it was time to start working for myself.

Realizing that successful entrepreneurship is best realized when complimented with training, research and insight into his prospects, Rhodes consulted a franchise coach in January 2014. His experience with a franchise coach, Rhodes says, piqued his interest not only in franchising, but in Window Genie. After my coaching, it was clear that franchising was for me. But it wasnt until the summer, when I came upon Window Genie and took part in the companys discovery process that my mind was made up.

For those interested in owning their own franchise, Rhodes stresses how his careful, calculated approachand his decision to choose a franchise which aligned with his personality and career goalsmade all the difference. Business ownership is a big decision that cant be made quickly, says Rhodes. Taking your time and appreciating the value of a franchises discovery process will go a long with in ensuring your future success.

Rhodes Tips on How to Go About Selecting the Right Franchise

    1. Searching for the right franchise should not be rushed or make you feel pressured.

    2. Find a good Franchise Coach that can help you navigate the many opportunities out there and put you in touch with the right people.

    3. Dont be afraid to talk to several Franchisors and Franchisees. Make sure that the word spread by the Franchisor is echoed by the Franchisees.

    4. Talk to several Franchisees and make sure they feel supported by the brand.

HAPPY HANDYMAN: Drive Up gives you the cleanest garage floor in the neighborhood

    - November 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

A few years back at the International Hardware Show, we found a product that will take oil out of concrete at least thats what they said.

All the cleaners up until then really didnt do a very good job. So I told the show rep to send us a gallon and we would try it out. He also said that the cleaner would work on asphalt, and that it comes in 55 gallons drums for convenience store parking lots.

I gave that gallon to Trudy to use in her garage. She had bought a house that was 20 years old and had existing oil stains in the garage and if the product would clean her stains, it would clean any oil stain.

She used Drive Up in a small hand sprayer and sprayed the stain. She sprayed the stain every 15 minutes for a hour. Then the last time she sprayed the stain, Trudy gave it a quick scrub with a broom and rinsed with water and it worked! Not only did it work, it worked great.

We have had great success with Drive Up and you can too. The nice part about Drive Up is that it is non-caustic and you dont have to worry about damage to surrounding landscaping. It made Trudys garage smell like an orange grove. So you dont have to worry about wearing a mask.

Now while we are on the subject of cleaning, there is another product that we have had for a while that is called Rust Remover. Its made by Goo Off. But why we like it is that it removes lime deposits without scrubbing. No other product can say that. So if you have white stains on brick from the sprinkler, this is the product to use.

Once all your stains are gone from the concrete, then clean all the surface with 30 Second Outdoor Cleaner. Now with the surface clean, protect it Drylock Wetlook. It will give you a surface that will resist staining and you be able to clean easier. You can do this in a weekend. You will have the cleanest garage floor in the neighborhood. And who wouldnt want that?

Question: I bought an older home at a great price. The only thing wrong is the sliding glass door is really heavy and jumps when you try to open and close it. I dont want to install a new door because the opening is not standard and besides being difficult to open and close, it is just fine. So do you have any ideas on how to make this a better door?

Answer: I had the same thing happen to me at a lake house I bought. The door opening was bigger than any door opening I have ever seen. It jumped and dragged and made using the door a big ordeal. So we cleaned the track (it was real dirty) and sprayed a lubricant like no other. Its called Tri Flow. Its very different than other lubricants because it doesnt attract dirt and dust. Its the dirt and dust that will keep the track from rolling smoothly. Tri Flow is PTFE Teflon based and we like to call it liquid ball bearing. You can use it on mirror doors, sliding glass doors, drawer slides, hinges and anything else that is giving you problems. Now if the track is bent, you can install a new cap over the track. Just straighten out the old track with a pair of pliers and snap the new stainless steel track right on top.

Question: Johnnie, a while back you talked on the radio about an alarm for detecting leaks. I am trying to remember what the name is so I can get one for my attic hot water heater. The same thing happened to me that happened to you. But, I am not letting it happen again. A $5,000 leak was a little expensive. I am putting these alarms on every sink and toilet upstairs.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - ??Here is a list of road projects around the Heartland scheduled for Wednesday, November 5.

    Butler County, MO

Route 72 in Bollinger County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform shoulders repairs. This section of roadway is located from Old Route 72 to Route B.

Existing lanes of Route 67 from CR 323 to Route 160/158 will be signed as Route C. The north end of Route C (existing Route 67) will remain closed for about two months as work is completed at the intersection of Route 67, Route C, and CR 323.

    Cape Girardeau County, MO

Property owners adjacent to the bridge will have access to their properties. A marked detour is proposed here:

From the north: Route 61 south to Route KK, west on KK to I-55, south on I-55 to Route E, then east on Route E to Route 61. From the south: Route 61 north to Route E, east on Route E to I-55, north on I-55 to Route KK, then east on KK to Route 61. Maps are available at MoDOT's Sikeston Office on N. Main St. Property owners can request a hearing in writing if affected.

    - November 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

A Signal Hill man accused of kidnapping and raping two women this year pleaded not guilty to a host of felony charges Monday and is being held in lieu of $4.5-million bail.

David Faavale Tautolo, 32, is charged with two counts each of kidnapping to commit another crime, forcible rape and one count each of forcible oral copulation, attempted sodomy by force, sodomy by force and criminal threats, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.

Then in October, Tautolo allegedly kidnapped a second woman, drove her to an alley and raped her. The woman called police once she was free and Tautolo was arrested the next day.

Biker accused in taunting-video case could face drug, weapon charges, CHP says

    - November 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

First, they used a YouTube video to arrest him on suspicion of obstructing a California Highway Patrol officer. Now, officials say, theyre using what they found inside Guraurdas Khalsas home to lobby for illegal drugs and weapons charges.

Its only made a bad situation worse for Khalsa, a 32-year-old Brentwood resident who CHP officials say works as a stunt motorcycle rider and has a corporate camera sponsorship. Last week, Bay Area CHP officials announced they tracked down Khalsa and hoped to find others through a video he allegedly posted on YouTube showing him and other riders doing wheelies on Interstate 680 in Milpitas.

The riders in the video are seen speeding on the freeway and circling the officer, whose siren can be heard in the background.

The officer tried unsuccessfully to stop the riders in the pack. The video shows the riders celebrating after the officer peels away for safety.

On Thursday, a search of Khalsas Brentwood home turned up 90 marijuana plants and a loaded rifle, authorities said. Investigators are recommending additional charges related to having a loaded weapon in aid of cultivating marijuana.

Khalsa was taken into custody Wednesday on suspicion of delaying or obstructing an officer and being an accessory after the fact.

Officers say Khalsa filmed the riders' actions, and the video was picked up and later posted toYouTube. The video has been viewed more than 1.5 million times.
