Kris Aquino and Coco Martin were among those that won big at the 2014 Yahoo! Celebrity Awards.
The stars of the upcoming Feng Shui 2, among entries to this years Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), were honored as Female TV Host of the Year and Actor of the Year, respectively at the poll-based awards, which drew a total of 17.5 million participating fans the largest in its four-year history.
Kris attended the event despite having to rush soon after for her nightly show, Aquino & Abunda Tonight.
She told the crowd at the Mall of Asia Arena, Thank you sa pagbangon niyo, kasama ko 7:30 every morning at bago kayo matulog sa Aquino & Abunda Tonight. Thank you for spending your Sunday afternoons with me sa The Buzz.
Coco was as ecstatic as Kris in accepting his award.
According to Kris, shooting for Feng Shui 2 will start on Aug. 12, an auspicious date based on, you guessed it, Feng Shui.
Yun ang sabi sa Feng Shui. Last year, we also started filming My Little Bossings during Ghost Month, the host-actress explained.
Coco admitted being a bit nervous on working with Kris and director Chito Roo.
Kasi first time ko makakatrabaho si Direk Chito first time ko din makakatambal sa pelikula si Ms. Kris so, pressured ako.

A company that sells electrified security fencing is asking Harmar supervisors to change the township's zoning laws to allow them.
Cindy Gsell, director of business development for South Carolina-based Electric Guard Dog, told supervisors Thursday that the township's laws are silent on allowing electric security fences.
The township's existing regulations cap the height of fencing at 8 feet; Gsell said the industry standard for electrified fencing is 10 feet.
Gsell said Ward Trucking, which is in Harmar, has an interest in installing such a fence.
The company could not be reached for comment Thursday night.
Solicitor Chuck Means said a zoning amendment would have to first go to the township's planning commission, with the ultimate decision being made by supervisors. Supervisors could vote on approving the changes in September, he said.
Gsell said the company would pay all costs associated with the requests, which include legal, engineering and advertising expenses. The changes being requested are generic and not tailored to Electric Guard Dog's product.
Gsell described the fencing as an effective deterrent against theft for outside storage. It's installed within the boundary of a non-electrified perimeter fence, so anyone who comes into contact with the electric fence would already be trespassing, she said.
She said it is a relatively new use for electric fencing, which she said is most commonly used for containing livestock.
The fence is low-voltage and battery powered, Gsell said.

Mike Marcus saw some of the world while serving in the military police during World War II.
Years after his discharge, Marcus got to see more of it while traveling with his family, and this week his world will come to him when the Monee veteran celebrates his 100th birthday on Saturday.
Marcus served from 1944 to 1945 as a U.S. Army staff sergeant in the European and Pacific theaters. He was a part of the 93rd Coast Artillery unit and 785th Military Police Battalion, Company D. During his service, Marcus earned several medals and certificates of merit.
After serving, Marcus eventually trained as an electrician and worked as an electrical inspector until he was 90 years old. He now has a large family that includes grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will gather for his upcoming birthday party.
Born on Chicagos South Side, Marcus graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1928 and briefly attended a city college. He later joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and spent a year cutting down trees in the state of Washington for $5 a day. An additional $25 a day of pay was sent to his parents.
Marcus worked a few other jobs in Chicago before Uncle Sam came calling.
On May 5, 1941, Marcus was drafted into the Army, but after basic training, he was hospitalized for three months in San Francisco following surgery. When he was released, Marcus was sent to the Mojave desert and floated among several companies. His original company already had been deployed overseas.

From the Nevada Department of Transportation:
Major paving work is scheduled to start Sunday evening, July 20 on U.S. 50 in the Moundhouse area as part of a Nevada Department of Transportation project to enhance the highway.
Beginning the evening of July 20, weather dependent, single lane closures are scheduled to take place weekdays as the roadway surface is milled and repaved. One eastbound lane will be closed for paving from approximately 7 p.m. to 11 a.m. weekdays. Paving will also take place on the westbound freeway between 1 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., with single lane closures. The paving work is expected to complete by mid-August, with the entire project scheduled for completion in the fall. The paving is part of an approximately $6 million project by contractor Granite Construction to repave and improve U.S. 50 from Arrowhead Drive in east Carson City to one mile east of the State Route 341 (Virginia City) intersection. A half-mile frontage road will also be constructed on the south side of U.S. 50 between Dorff Lane and Jeanette Drive, and an acceleration lane added for westbound turns from Alfonso Drive. Safety enhancements such as slope flattening and concrete barrier rail, as well as T intersection improvements at SR 341 and Flint Drive, will also be made.
Project construction is currently on schedule. Since the projects start in June, enhancements to driveway approaches to the highway have been made, 14 additional roadside drainage inlets installed, electrical conduits placed for additional roadside lighting, a new frontage road graded and more.
From the Department of Transportation
