Set against the lush meadows of Prosper, the 2,030-acre master-planned community of Windsong Ranch will feature two Darling Homes collections debuting this year.

The first collection of homes, which opened to the public on July 14, is a series of homes ranging in size from approximately 2,600 to 3,700-square feet and situated on 61-foot wide lots, with prices starting from the mid $300,000s.

The second collection, set to debut later this year, will feature even larger homes, offering from 2,600 to 4,200 square feet of living space on 71-foot wide lots. Pricing has not yet been announced.

In addition, Windsong Ranch will offer access to a first-class amenity center in The Commons, positioned on a hilltop overlooking a spectacular lake with gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside.

The Commons will also offer fitness facilities, a resort-style pool, lap pool, cabanas, kids spray park and much more. The Commons is also adjacent to The Esplanade, perfect for community gatherings and events.

Windsong Caf will offer a perfect place for family and friends to gather to plan the days activities or to simply catch up after a fun day in the community.

B UILDING a two-storey extension has transformed this property from a run-of-the mill semi into something really quite special.

It is now a house that offers a lot for the money and makes a wonderful place for a family.

Lee and Fiona Henshaw came to the house at Nutbrook Avenue, Mount Pleasant, seven years ago and had planned on staying for a long time.

With that in mind they have only recently invested in upgrades like a new combi boiler, replacing a lot of the double glazing, fitting a brand new kitchen and redecorating throughout in the last 12 months.

But now their plans have changed and the result of their work is that whoever buys this place need not spend a penny on it for many years to come.

Lee, aged 43, said: "It is a great family home in a great location and a lot of it is virtually new.

"Whoever buys it can just move in, relax and not have to worry about any big bills.'' The first impression as you walk in from the golden gravel driveway is how light and spacious. This is due to the semi-open plan along with fully glazed internal doors which make the most of the daylight.

From the porch you go into the lounge which overlooks the south-facing frontage. The central feature here is the white fireplace with a marble hearth and living flame effect gas coal fire. Glazed double doors lead into the dining room where patio doors to the garden again fill the room with daylight. It really does feel very spacious and airy.

A door in the dining room leads to a cloakroom/w.c and then into the newly fitted kitchen. Again, this has a nice light decor with a pale wood finish on the base and wall units. There is also an integrated double oven with a gas hob, plumbing for a dishwasher and tile-effect laminate flooring.
