Before opening TruBlue Highland Park, Dr. Neal was an educator. Hes a retired teacher, college professor, librarian and, most recently heading a library system. He also served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era.

A few years ago, I met someone in the cleaning business who told me hed be happy if he could just clean bathrooms all day. Thats what got me thinking. No one wants to clean the bathroom, but its one of those rooms that needs cleaned the most. That got the wheels turning, and when I saw TruBlues service plan I knew TruBlue is a company that can handle that task plus others that people dont want to deal with or arent able to take care of, Steve said.

When I was a librarian, I taught business research and worked with business owners pretty often. They really seemed to love their work and had a great time. When I found myself looking for a new career after my retirement, I knew I wanted to open my own business, and TruBlue was a great fit, he added.

TruBlue can work with anyone with homes of any size, but Steve is especially looking forward to working with seniors and building friendships with his business.

Im looking forward to serving the seniors. My mother had some problems when she got older and she couldnt take care of her home. The same thing happened with my grandmother and my great-grandmother. There is a real need for this kind of home service with seniors and I know we can make aging in place easier through TruBlues service, Steve said.

Steve is excited about bringing on quality team members people who can do the job and are people of character. Hes also hoping hell be able to bring his daughter and son-in-law into the business when his son-in-law leaves the Navy in two years.

Wind turbines west of Wellington are not only changing the landscape, they are also transforming landowners' bank balances.

"They're music to my ears, actually," says Ohariu Valley sheep and beef farmer Gavin Bruce, who has a 440-hectare property with eight turbines.

All told there are 88 turbines on two Meridian Energy wind farms: 62 on the West Wind farm, situated on both Meridian's own property as well as on Terawhiti Station, south of Makara; and 26 on the Mill Creek wind farm on four properties in the Ohariu Valley.

Bruce said the turbines had made a big difference to the economics of his business, though he would not divulge how much money changes hands.

"In my case it's a big jump up, equivalent to lifting my stock unit numbers from 4000 to 6000," he estimates.

Further south on 5000ha Terawhiti Station, manager Guy Parkinson says 34 turbines have helped turn the sheep and beef farm from a loss into a profit-maker.

"Without the wind farm it would not have been possible to have turned the farm around," he said.

Besides providing income, Meridian also creates high-quality roading which makes for easier farming, and which it maintains.

In Parkinson's case it used to take two days to muster sheep by horse; now he can drive around the large property in less than an hour on 25 kilometres of roads.

On Bruce's property the 30-year-old fences had to be replaced by Meridian during construction, "cranking up" the returns to the farm.

Rose Uniacke, who is married to multi-millionaire David Heyman, has taken over the 5 million refurbishment of the couples five-storey west London villa.

The job is the highest profile commission yet for one of Londons best connected interior designers, whose style has been described as classic English cosiness meets minimalist rigour.

Ms Uniacke takes over from Dragons Den panellist Kelly Hoppen, who was hired to work on the earlier heavy lifting phase of the overhaul.

David and Victoria Beckham paid 31.5 million for their seven-bedroom London base dubbed Beckingham Palace II last September.

Pimlico-based Ms Uniacke, the daughter of antiques dealer Hilary Batstone, is best known for her work on the refurbishment of the Gloucester Place headquarters of fragrance label Jo Malone.

Describing her approach, the 50-year-old designer has said: I dont like furnishing just for the sake of it. I like referencing the context.

It is thought she will likely give the home a more traditional English look than the international East meets West style of Ms Hoppen.

Ms Uniacke was previously married to Old Etonian adventurer and reformed heroin addict Robie Uniacke, who is now the partner of former Bond actress Rosamund Pike. In 2007 she married Heyman, who secured the film rights to JK Rowlings wizarding series in 1999 and is now said to be worth more than 70 million. He is currently working on a film version of the Paddington Bear stories starring Hugh Bonneville and Nicole Kidman.

The couple spent three years on a lavish refit of their own 11 million Victorian home in Pimlico described as the house that Harry Potter built.
