ATL Cleaning has earned appsbar.coms App of the Day award as a prime example of how small businesses are utilizing mobile technologies to promote their services to current and potential clients.
The ATL Cleaning mobile app was built using the DIY app builder at appsbar.com and is distributed through appsbars affiliated app marketplace at appcatch.com.
The app has modules that provide information on the West Wales cleaning company, a list of its services, a roster of employees, and contact information. The app is optimized for both iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.
Launched in 2011, Appsbar opens up the mobile marketing category for small and medium-size businesses, artists and musicians, and individuals who want to create in that space. Appsbar has done this by removing the two largest barriers; cost and programming expertise. Appsbar is doing for mobile apps what companies like Intuit and Blogger have done for novices looking to publish websites and blogs. To date, Appsbar has grown to over 500,000 users to become the most popular app building platform in the world.
In September of 2013, Appsbar added mobile capabilities, allowing users to create, edit and publish apps directly from a smartphone or tablet.
To create an app of your own with the free and easy-to-use app maker, go to appsbar.com. To view and download other interesting new apps for free, visit appcatch.com.

Each year, catastrophic wildfires threaten many Washington homes, businesses and open lands, but residents can take steps to protect themselves and their communities.
This year, the governors of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, and California have joined together to proclaim May as Wildfire Awareness Month. The Washington State Department of Natural Resources urges all Washington residents to consider actions they can take to prevent wildfires and help their communities become better prepared when wildfires do occur.
As more and more people live in and around forests, grasslands, shrub lands, and other natural areas places referred to the wildland-urban interface the fire-related challenges of managing wildlands are on the increase. This year, the department is asking the question, Is your community prepared for wildfire?
If designing or updating a homes landscape, think of ways to incorporate firebreaks (things that dont burn) into the landscape design. Defensible space doesnt have to be an eyesore. Some examples of firebreaks are: concrete, brick or gravel walkways, concrete flower box borders or planters, and water features, such as a pond. Even the backyard swimming pool can serve as a firebreak.
We all have a role to play in protecting ourselves and each other from the risk of wildfire. To save lives and property from wildfire, the Firewise Communities Program (www.firewise.org) teaches people how to adapt to living with wildfire and encourages neighbors to take action now to prevent losses.

The city of Issaquah stopped the removal of Talus neighborhood trees April 27 after residents cried foul.
Work began in the beginning of April to take out some tall trees blocking the view of residents. While the Talus Residential Association remains confident it took all necessary steps to remove the trees, some homeowners remain unconvinced.
People have been pretty adamant about clearing those trees to have a better view of the lake, said Talus resident Chad Fletcher said, who is angry about the removal. Those particular trees were there and always were there.
Sandi MacCalla, vice president of large scale communities with The Management Trust CDC, represents the Talus Residential Association and works to manage the property. She said they had taken a long, correct and public process to provide views to residents who paid for them.
Weve been working on this for seven months, MacCalla said. There are people taxed for a view and there are people not getting it.
The city approved the removal of 18 trees to be replaced with vine maples, flowering crab apple and flowering cherry trees. MacCalla said no evergreen trees would be taken down and that the management group was committed to replacing lost trees to preserve a green Cougar Mountain.
We feel badly that all that work has gotten misunderstood, MacCalla said about residents concerns. We are just trying to make the best choice for all considerations possible.
However, after residents claimed Northwest Landscape Services marked more trees than approved for removal, the city filed a cease work order to stop all tree cutting April 27.

Ash tree removal program will save the city thousands of dollars. /KHQA News
MACOMB, ILL. -- The city ofMacombis getting a helping hand fighting the threat of theemerald ash borer.
Macombwas chosen to be one ofseven communities in the state to be part of a pilot program from theIllinois Department of Agriculture.
The city will get between $100,000 to $150,000 to pay for ash tree removal and replanting of new trees in the public right of way.
Outside crews will be responsible for the work.
Mayor Mike Inman says that the city is fortunate to be chosen for the program.
"There's municipalities all across Illinois where there's active infestation that are looking at millions, millions ofinfrastructure improvements to their interior tree program to replace these trees," Inman said. "We're hoping to nip it, so to speak in the bud with this program."
Macomb City Forester Tim Howe says that the infestation is already to close for comfort.
"We're right on the edge of emerald ash borer," Howe said. "It's in the city of Galesburg. It's in the city of Burlington. Both about 50 miles away."
