Atlas Roofing to Show Complete Brand Lineup at IRE 2014

    - February 12, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 12, 2014

Atlas Roofing Corp. will be displaying its full line of roof components at the 2014 International Roofing Expo (IRE). The show, to be held Feb. 26-28 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, is the foremost roofing construction and maintenance event in the nation.

The theme "Four Of A Kind Wins" is more than just a pithy play on the Atlas presence in Vegasits also a motivating statement about what contractors can expect when they quote and install a complete Atlas Signature Select Roofing System on residential projects. Contractors who visit Atlas booth # 2115 will find out specific details about how to "win big" by working with Atlas.

Atlas will showcase the four components of its Signature Select Roofing System, starting with high performance shingles. SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) construction in StormMaster Slate and StormMaster Shake shingles ensure extreme weather protection and lasting durability. Pinnacle Pristine architectural shingles bring added dimension with a multi-layered aesthetic appeal to any roof.

A second component of the Signature Select Roofing System, Pro-Cut Hip & Ridge featuring Scotchgard Protector, are pre-cut to save time on the roof and enable a more consistent job every time. Pro-Cut Hip & Ridge shingles provide peak performance and protection in both Sunbelt and Snowbelt climates.

Atlas Pro-Cut Starter Strips, the third component on a Signature Select roof, protects the roof edge by filling in the spaces under the cutouts or shingle edges for the first course of exposed shingles. WeatherMaster SBS Peel & Stick may also be used for eaves and valleys.

Additionally, IRE attendees will have the opportunity to learn how Atlas is changing the way contractors view roofing underlayment, the fourth component of the Signature Select System. The booth will feature the companys premier underlayment, Gorilla Guard EVERFELT and SUMMIT Synthetic, along with WeatherMaster.

HP Technology will be another highlight at Atlas booth #2115. The Atlas stamp, Built with HP Technology, placed on Pinnacle Pristine, StormMaster Slate and StormMaster Shake shingles indicates five unique features that directly benefit roofing contractors. HP Technology helps contractors perform more efficiently, with greater profitability. These shingles are wider and longer, needing fewer shingles per square. They also have FASTAC double sealant lines with twice the adhesion capability on shingle-to-shingle contact, allowing for 130 mph wind speed coverage. Measurements are further simplified with a larger exposure, also allowing for greater curb appeala major selling point.

These technology advantages on the three high performance shingle lines come in addition to Scotchgard Protector, which provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty against algae streaks and stains on the roof when installed with Atlas Pro-Cut Hip & Ridge shingles featuring Scotchgard Protector.

Atlas knows that what's under the roof matters, too. That's why Atlas is bringing its Techni-Flo Roof Ventilation System to IRE. It is engineered to allow consistent intake and exhaust airflow underneath the covering of a steeped-sloped roofing system.

Avanti Kitchens & Granite Announces Built to Order Bathroom and Kitchen Cabinet Line from Aspect

    - February 12, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Canton, Michigan (PRWEB) February 12, 2014

Avanti Kitchen and Granite, a full service bath and kitchen remodeling contractor, designs, builds and installs custom cabinetry and granite and stone countertops for homeowners and general contractors in the metro Detroit area and throughout Michigan. In addition to its luxury cabinetry lines, now Avanti distributes and installs Aspect Cabinetry, a sensible cabinetry choice that delivers both quality and value.

When it comes to remodeling the kitchen or bath, consumers have a variety of choices, from off the shelf cabinetry to more custom cabinetry lines available from the large retailers. However, for the more discriminating but still budget wise consumer, the choices are somewhat limited. The new made to order line from Aspect Cabinetry fills the gap between a mass produced cabinet and the top of the line, luxury cabinet.

A kitchen or bath remodeling project is an expensive, time consuming endeavor. Finding the kitchen or bathroom cabinets that have the right aesthetic, design features and quality is a challenge. Relying on the big brands is not always a wise financial decision. Smaller manufacturers like Aspect Cabinetry, often offer more design options, a higher quality cabinet and also better pricing than the large, ubiquitous brands.

A family owned company with a long tradition in cabinet making, Aspect Cabinetry skilled workers manufacture all cabinets in the USA. Built from quality woods and materials, Aspect Cabinets are more like furniture; still, a controlled manufacturing process assures the quality youd expect from a more expensive brand.

Our decision to carry the Aspect bathroom and kitchen cabinet line was in response to our clients feedback. A custom made in the USA, quality wood cabinet, but with a lower price tag than the luxury lines, said Dave Cristarella, owner and general manager of Avanti Kitchens and Granite.

However, getting the brand right is just one part of the kitchen remodeling or bathroom design experience. Ease of ordering, delivery and installation are also important to the consumer. This is where remodeling contractors like Avanti Kitchens and Granite have a definite advantage over their larger counterparts. An easier shopping experience, more personal attention, faster delivery times and more experienced installers, make consumers generally more satisfied when choosing a smaller contractor.

As a small local business, customer satisfaction is not something we do as a job. For us, its genuine... we take pride in the work and spaces we build for our clients. Being smaller, working with smaller manufacturers, also has its advantages. The cabinets we sell are not mass produced. Thus, if we need a door, or a whole kitchen, they can be manufactured on demand. That gives us better control over delivery times and possible mishaps, said Dave.

In cabinetry, more consumers are moving from mass produced to true craftmanship, from made in China to locally made, from formaldehyde soaked particle board to environmentally friendly. By distributing cabinetry lines like Aspect, we support that trend. At the same time, by choosing Aspect from Avanti, our customers augment another important trend - supporting the local small business and Michigan communities, added Dave Cristarella.

About Aspect Cabinetry: Aspect Cabinetry is built by W.W. Wood Products Inc, a family-owned company since 1977, located in Dudley, Missouri. Aspect Cabinetry is manufactured in a 1.2 million square feet facility with state-of-the-art equipment, for competitive pricing and quality control. Every cabinet is built-to-order by a skilled labor force, treated like furniture and shipped to the dealer. Aspect Cabinetry is sold exclusively through a network of authorized dealers.

Office: Savannah’s Cay Building Rises Above Existing …

    - February 12, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Project team erected the Savannah, Ga., building atop an existing underground parking garage.

    ----- Advertising -----

Initiated by the General Services Administration's need for new space for the Office of the United States Attorney, Southern District, the biggest challenge facing the contractors erecting Savannah's Cay Building was to overcome the downtown site's development history.

Prior to this project, the owners of the site, John Cay and Whitaker Street Associates, had granted the city of Savannah the right to construct and operate a 1,000-space, below-ground parking garage, with the requirement the structure be engineered to support a future building.

Despite that requirement, the garage presented weight limitations to the team building the six-story, 65,000-sq-ft office facility. Since the new building could not bear on the garage, the new structure rests on 32 columns extending into the subterranean parking vault. A series of steel angles and large cantilevered sections of slab support the building veneer, transferring structural load to the columns.

In an effort to keep weight off the slab, crews with New South Construction Co. installed structural foamsometimes 2 ft thickbelow the slabs. Construction of one 30-ft x 30-ft bay required that its slab span four columns on its corners and not sit on the slab just inches below. To achieve that goal, crews formed the slab atop a bed of sand, and, after the concrete hardened, pressure-washed the sand out.

Additionally, the team worked closely with the Savannah Historic Board of Review to ensure the project complied with the city's historic preservation guidelines. The building meets federal standards and includes blast-resistant windows. The building's coastal location mandated that the windows comply with hurricane specifications.

Parking garage to mark start of mega Liberty Twp. retail center construction

    - February 12, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

    LIBERTY TWP.

The mega retail center slated for Liberty Twp. along Interstate 75 has yet to be issued a building permit, and the developer now anticipates starting construction by the end of February.

Columbus-based developer Steiner + Associates plans to build an approximately 1.4 million-square-foot mixed-used shopping, office and residential complex in Liberty Twp. at the intersection of Ohio 129, Interstate 75 and Liberty Way. The projects first phase is expected to be a more than $300 million investment encompassing 65 acres. Site work has already begun.

Liberty Center, as the development is named, has been described as a city within a township.

Construction equipment and crews on site have been preparing for the start of construction, clearing trees and leveling ground. Several vacant houses acquired on the property were demolished at the end of 2013.

However, not until this week have the developer or subcontractors received necessary approvals to start any building or infrastructure construction, the Journal-News has learned.

Butler County Commissioners approved on Monday an extension of the countys water and sewer lines to the property. Commissioners also approved the county water and sewer department to offer services to Liberty Centers future business tenants and residents.

The latest approval allows the developer to begin underground work of the pipelines, storm sewers and water lines, said Bob Leventry, director of the countys water and sewer department.

Meanwhile, the Journal-News has also learned that a parking garage will be the first building constructed at Liberty Center, based on county records.

Butler Countys development department is currently reviewing the projects first building permit for the footer and foundation of the first of three parking garages as proposed in the projects layout, said David Fehr, Butler County development director.
