SPOKANE, Wash.--One of the leads police are investigating in connection with the Sunday night murder of Douglas Carlile took them to one un-expecting womans front door.

Shelby, who chose not to disclose her last name, expected to have her day disrupted by carpet installation. Instead, she received a visit from police officers. Detectives showed up because the carpet cleaners van was similar to one seen leaving the Sunday night murder scene.

This was actually the second time our carpet layer got stopped because his white van matched the description, Shelby said.

Cameras on a home near the murder scene at 25th and Garfield caught images of a white van Sunday night. The van in the video appears to be a Dodge extended cab, early 2000s model.

Interface Offers Flooring Options to Healthcare Sector

Ever dream of walking a Hollywood red carpet on Justin Bieber's arm? Now's your chance.

Well, not exactly, but you will have the best seat in the house as MTV.com exclusively live streams the red-carpet premiere of "Justin Bieber's Believe." The action kicks off on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

MTV News' Christina Garibaldi will catch up with Bieber himself, "Believe" director Jon M. Chu, producer Scooter Braun, Usher, Sean Combs and more. They'll all be answering your burning Twitter questions, so ask anything using the hashtag #AskBelieve.

As if that wasn't enough excitement, graffiti artist Alec Monopoly is creating an installation for the event using Bieber's Music Journals singles cover art as inspiration and infusing his own energy and emotions. The work will be painted live on-site and auctioned off for charity upon its completion.

In addition to a new Point Dume Fire Station, Malibu residents will also be able to enjoy a large mosaic tile art mural on the outside of the new station at 28722 Pacific Coast Highway (PCH).

Matt Doolin of Topanga Art Tile was selected to design the mural.

It incorporates the vibrant colors found in nature, Harkey wrote. The carpet is a tribute to the great tile carpet done by Malibu Potteries at the nearby Adamson House.

The cost of the mural and its installation will be paid by LA Countys Civic Arts program, which requires one percent of the countys design/construction costs on capital projects be allocated to creating new public works of art. The mural is expected to be completed by spring or summer 2014.

Erin Harkey, the countys civic arts project manager, explained that the idea of using tile for the artwork came from Malibus history of tile production. During the selection process, Harkey worked closely with ex-officio Cultural Arts Commission member Graeme Clifford, as well as the fire department, County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavskys office and other members of the Malibu art community, to sift through submissions and proposals from 50 or 60 local tile artist before ultimately selecting Doolin's proposal.

Matt is a local boy. His inspiration evolved from the natural landscape of the mountains and the sea, Harkey explained. He has art in the Topanga LibraryHe will offer a contemporary perspective on this traditional art form.

The mural Doolin proposed depicts the sky, mountains and sea of Malibus landscape rising from a rolling carpet andwill be on the front of the new fire station, visible to people driving past it on PCH. The work of art will be 55 feet long and 9 feet tall it its highest point, wrapping around to the right side of the building.

Members of the Malibu Cultural Arts Commission were impressed with the proposed mural and gave it their blessing. Its beautiful, and thoughtfully and carefully done, said committee member Scott Hosfeld.

It captures the feeling of the community, Chair Daniel Stern added.

The station has been undergoing construction since last summer and a temporary fire station has been set up at Zuma Beach for the interim.

Denver carpet retailer Sloanes Carpet Secret will sponsor a Facebook contest to give away carpet, pad and installation to the best story in the Denver area. A single winner will be selected to receive carpet, pad and installation at no cost.

The September floods got us thinking, said Sloanes Owner and President Scott Alban, about giving back to the community and maybe having some fun with it as well. Alban acknowledged that Sloanes might use the opportunity to publicize the entries it receives, to see if additional help is available beyond what a small Denver carpet store can offer.

Colorado homeowners, charities and nonprofits are invited to visit Sloanes Carpet Secret Facebook Page and submit their story. Each submission will be judged by Sloanes for need, creativity and Sloanes ability to impact the situation.
